Why Cruz Campaign Proves we are No Longer a “Nation of Laws but Men (Women)”

Our Founding Father, John Adams is quoted as saying: “We are a nation of laws and not men.” He said this to express the fact that we were not ruled by men. Whether king or emperor, all were to be governed and judged the same.

Unlike the many nations of the world, swept up in divine right or democratic despotism (France), we were a nation that was founded on a written law. This law, the Constitution, was to be the final authority. We were not to look to figureheads or talking heads. We were to look to the standard, and it was to guide our law making and our political decisions. But, we see that this is a long dead concept.

The Washington Standard reports

“But, we see that this is a long dead concept.”

If you’re so smart, how come it took the 85 years since the New Deal for you to suss this out?

Remind me which candidate started his campaign by saying; “A nation without borders is not a nation and a nation without laws is not a nation”

This statement is central to the Trump campaign and disproves the main point of this article.

Speaking of Ted, did you see Ted punch Heidi during the concession speech? It’s really funny:

What’s the point of posting this? Cruz is history. It’s time to move on.

And our esteemed owner says:

“it’s time for all patriots to forget about the Cruz v Trump flamewars and unite behind our nominee to focus on defeating the godless America-hating traitor, Hillary Clinton.”

Hey, I’ll give Cruz one thing - now that he’s looking at having to fire his entire campaign staff, the decision to bring Carly Fiorina onboard is going to look really brilliant!

I second, third and forth that motion. Motion carried.

These kinds of posts no longer serve the candidate of the Republican Party who is the clear choice of the people.

We still need to reunite the party with the goal of defeating Hillary and actually electing Donald trump as the 45th President.

These kinds of posts are now counter-productive towards that goal.

Well, it’s nice to see that at least one person smells the coffee. I don’t have much confidence in the rest, the Trump Kool-aid is strong.

This law, the Constitution, was to be the final authority.

*******************************************

And it specifies only a natural born citizen for President.
Someone who could only be a US citizen and nothing else.

I am glad that any immigrant’s son can become President of the United States of America.

While I agree, the less informed include Limbaugh, Levin, Tom Sowell, Victor David Hansen, and virtually all the “mainstream” pundits afraid of being corralled into the “birther” corner for having read and understood the Constitution just a little bit. It will be surprise to hear any of those, probably testing the wind to make sure they remained acceptable to their target audiences, recuse their ignorance. Tom Sowell, one of my favorite pundits and social economists, was a bigger disappointment. You would hope those with pretense to scholarship, would actually read an original source or two, like the Constitution and Minor v. Happersett. To her credit, and a testament to her integrity, Anne Coulter recused her incorrect assumptions about the law, read the original sources, and publically announced her error.

It took a while to realize why no one during virtually the entirety of the Obama reign dares mention John Marshal, or Morrison Waite, though, while it was a useful tool, they did refer to Wong Kim Ark, knowing the general ignorance and self-imposed silence of those who knew that Justice Gray cited and quoted Minor v. Happersett, and 14th Amendment’s John Bingham read into the Congressional Record equivalent of 1866 (The Globe), never doubted legitimacy of the definition included in Vattel’s, Pufendorf’s, and Grotius’ volumes on Natural Law, the foundation of our Constitutional Republic.

Trump was certainly informed of the ineligibility of Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, and Haley, but probably wisely, knowing the futility of attempting to explain historical truth to the mobs, polarized by clever propagandists the soldiers funded by dozens of special interests, decide not to fight that battle. With a fully politicized judiciary, there is not only little hope, but probably little expectation that courts will honor the Constitution and/or the many previous decision by Supreme Courts confirming definitions for both natural born and naturalized citizenship. Let’s hope Trump has the skills to remove the dozens of agencies not voted on by Congress or in any way sanctioned by enumerated rights in the Constitution. Obama succeeded in creating his domestic army, creating domestic forces in almost all of the unconstitutional agencies, the ATF, the IRS, HUD, the EPA, and on and on.

States were created equivalent to other states like Italy, Britain, France, and Spain, with the only responsibility of the federal government the conduct of foreign relations, including defense, with both functions beholden to the House for approval and funding. The executive, which wrote Obamacare, has no authority to create law, and even less authority, if that is possible, to their illegal concealment from both Congress and the public. Neither the executive nor the judiciary have taxing authority, but they ignored the constitution and made Obamacare into a tax. Let’s hope Trump is strong enough to return some respect for the Constitution. If Hillary prevails, though we have no means of validating elections in the U.S., be prepared to continue to do what you are told while you still can.
