the doctor ... declares his opinion: It's a boy or a girl...

First of all, it's not an opinion. It's a statement of fact. The doctor could do a DNA test and see if the child in question has XX or XY chromosomes, but that test is more time-consuming and expensive than using the test of common sense.

Secondly, even if you want to consider it an "opinion," at the very least, it is an expert opinion. Doctors are trained medical professionals, and if one examines your infant and declares it a boy, then it is reasonable, in every venue on earth, to credit that declaration. After all, when "doctors" say queers are born, and "climate scientists" tell us we're doomed, we're supposed to just shut up and accept THEIR word.

No, that’s not the case. It’s perfectly clear in the article and would have been more clear with just my excerpt but I had to edit out some parts of it to make the 300-word limit, including that the author mentions this “procedure” has dreadful “side effects” for 1-2% of the population:

- “The doctor waves his hand dismissively. “Oh, in 1 or 2 percent of cases, we see long-term negative reactions to this,” he says with a hint of distaste. “It leads to depression, social ostracism, difficulty finding or keeping a job. Those with negative reactions often become subject to intense discrimination in society. Suicide is not uncommon.”

No, the author means just what he seems to: that a “harmful,” “unnecessary” procedure is done everyday, all over the world when the sex of infants is merely recognized by the adults involved:

- “Is it really necessary? If we don’t take the treatment, will my baby get sick?”

- “The imaginary treatment I described above is real. Obstetricians, doctors, and midwives commit this procedure on infants every single day, in every single country...”

This is actually BRAINWASHING. The author is banking on some people on the left latching onto this fantasy as truth, then teaching it to young people while going out in society and demanding it become accepted as reality.

You would hope this type of garbage would bring more Democrat voters to their senses, but sadly, you would be wrong.

This article isn’t at all about intersex babies, though, but babies whose sex is normal at birth.

It is FANTASY meant to BRAINWASH at least some secular humanists into accepting the idea that it’s violent, unnatural, abusive imposition on children, serving no purpose whatsoever, to acknowledge their sex at birth. Once some secular humanists believe it, then the plan is that they will start teaching it to young people, particularly college students, while also compiling “statistics” and protesting until, they hope, a few doctors and hospitals (probably in California and especially the most pro-abortion ones - no coincidence) declare that no longer will this “harmful procedure” be allowed to be performed in their facility. Then the final step in their plan will be another secular humanist-youth led movement to ban any hospitals or doctors from recognizing the sex of newborn infants, and to cast anyone who disagrees as bigoted, ignorant and hateful.

This society makes me so sick. Now I understand why people prefer home deliveries. If they only had epidural-like meds you can take in pill form for at home deliveries...wishful thinking!!

Of course crushing a babys head and harvesting it’s parts is just fine.

God assigns the gender at conception.

Who is Slate or Cristin Scott Molloy to say otherwise?

This article is about IMPLANTING IDEAS in SUGGESTIBLE people (that is, secular humanists who want to destroy the Christian faith). So it deliberately ignores so many things it doesn’t want people considering as they read along, such as ULTRASOUNDS (which acknowledge the child’s likely sex months before birth), DNA, the actual anatomy of the child, and the importance of the child’s sex to the parents, who will do things like give the child a name, that typically will be a name associated with one sex or the other. This article is an attempt to make some parents on the left feel guilty about doing so.

At first I thought this was an article about circumcision. Now, I don’t remember getting circumcised, but apparently I didn’t walk for a year after the procedure.

I once followed a thread that ended up at a British newspaper and the comments all seemed to go along the same line as this thinking. The British/Europeans must have been buying into this rubbish for years. They were all spinning the same line. Normally I am a very patient person but I couldn’t help but let loose on these brainwashed people. The worst thing about this is that failure to assign gender creates confusion, depression and possibly suicide and they are allowing this devilish thinking to be forced upon the kids. Our children look to us for certainty, to know themselves, to see who they are through our eyes. To follow this thinking not only takes away that certainty but throws them to the wolves both emotionally and psychologically.

People are born with a sex: male or female, determined by chromosomes that determine their anatomy. “Gender” as something different from chromosomes or body structure is total nonsense for 99.9999% of people. Male is XY, and female is XX.

Nouns in other languages have a gender. A french “table” is “une table” - gender female. A French “airplane” is “un avion” - gender male. Gender is a grammar question, not one of identity. If the nutcase activists want to pretend that gender has nothing to do with anatomy, why would a sane person bother changing anatomy or changing the words. We have perfectly good words for the confused “genders” with identifiable anatomy and chromosomes: “sissy” and “tomboy”.

If you’re a sissy male who is XY, you’re still male. If you’re a confused male who would rather be female, you’re still male. Denial of reality is mental illness, and those who deny their genitals are mentally ill - except in the extremely rare cases where there is a difference between chromosomes and genitals.

If you’re a tomboy who is XX, you’re still female. If you’re a confused female who would rather be male, you’re still female. Denial of reality is mental illness, and those who deny their genitals are mentally ill - except in the extremely rare cases where there is a difference between chromosomes and genitals.

By the way, I have no respect for sissy boys whether they call themselves sissies or “girls”, but I care enough that I don’t want them mutilated even if they pay for it. I certainly don’t want my money wasted on mutilating their bodies when the problem is in their minds. In contrast, I have always had a thing for tomboys. as long as they are not so mentally ill that they forget they are female. [I grew up watching Donna Douglas, who played Elly May Clampett on TV, and playing with a lot of tomboys who admired her as much as I did!] I ended up not marrying a tomboy, but I don’t see any problems with them at all.

Imagine you are in recovery from labor, lying in bed, holding a new life ... Completely innocent and totally vulnerable, this new life is entirely dependent on you to make all the choices that will define that life for many years to come ... You are calm, at peace.

...“Oh, just standard practice. It will help the newborn be recognized and get along more easily with others who've already received the same treatment. The chance of side effects is extremely small.” This raises the hairs on the back of your neck, and your protective instinct kicks your alarm response up a notch.

...It seems unlikely that doctors, hospitals, parents, or society in general would tolerate a standard practice like this.

Except they already do. The imaginary treatment I described above is real ... In reality, this treatment is performed almost universally ***without even asking for the parents' consent*** [author's italics], making this practice all the more insidious. It's called infant species assignment: When the doctor holds a new life up to the harsh light of the delivery room, looks at its anatomy, and declares his opinion: It's a human, or perhaps a puppy or a kitten ...

Don't let a doctor do this to your newborn until you see how this new life self-identifies!

Completely unhinged !

There is a dangerous psychosis developing at an alarming rate in this country, and perhaps this world.

I mean, there is no angle in which one can view this to somehow see their point. These words need to be spoken from someone currently tied up in a straight jacket !

Barking at the moon insanity !
