Washington (CNN)Oil tycoon and conservative mega-donor Charles Koch had kind words for both Bill and Hillary Clinton in an interview Sunday, saying there was an outside chance he could support her in November. "We would have to believe her actions would be quite different than her rhetoric. Let me put it that way," he said on ABC's "This Week" Sunday. "But on some of the Republican candidates we would -- before we could support them, we'd have to believe their actions will be quite different than the rhetoric we've heard so far." Earlier in the interview, Koch said Bill Clinton was better than George W. Bush on issues of economic growth and government spending but did not offer a full-throated endorsement of either Clinton.
"As far as the growth of government, the increase in spending, on restrictive regulations, it was two-and-a-half times under Bush than it was under Clinton," Koch told ABC. Asked if it was possible another Clinton could be better than a Republican, Koch said: "It's possible."

Koch means better for the uni-party.
“Better for who???”
Precisely when reading between the lines. All Charles Koch has to do is donate to the Clinton Crime Foundation and good things will happen for him.
Feeble attempt by Charles to get back in graces with the haters from the left.
Asked if it was possible another Clinton could be better than a Republican, Koch said: "It's possible."
It's also possible that it will snow in Louisiana in August but it's not awfully likely. That's hardly a ringing endorsement for Clinton.
“Possible” but not probable.
To hell with the Kochs, Soros, Gates, Welch, the Rockerfellers, Clintons, Bushes, all of them. The leadership of this country is crap.
The Kochs are liberals. More masks come off.
"As far as the growth of government, the increase in spending, on restrictive regulations, it was two-and-a-half times under Bush than it was under Clinton,"
On fiscal issues, Koch is half-right. "Moderate" Democrats like Clinton give us more or less the same economic policies as "moderate" Republicans like Bush.
However, Koch doesn't even know who the GOP nominee is going to be, so how has he preemptively decided that he would be as bad or worse than Hillary? Cruz is basically on board with the Koch economic program of low taxes and free markets, and so is Trump except on trade.
Most likely, for the Kochs like for most libertarians, free trade is more important a litmus test than any other issue. They'd rather have higher taxes and regulation under Clinton as long as they get no tariffs on Chinese goods than tariffs combined with an internal/national free market with Trump. That's the lunacy of some libertarians.
Depends on who the Veep is.
Hillary's main worry is that Bernie's supporters won't turn out and vote for her in the general election. This means that she may pick Bernie as her VP, or someone equally far to the left to please Bernie's constituents.
Having Bernie in place of Hillary would have pluses and minuses. The plus is that he isn't the crooked sleaze that Hillary is. The potential minus is that he's further to the Left on many issues (he's a socialist, she's a crony capitalist). Of course, we could get the worst of both worlds if Hillary picks Elizabeth Warren.
We already have Tariffs on many things coming from China. And, from other places as well. It's not always a good idea to listen to a candidate... especially an insurgent candidate.... who spouts stuff that we like. What they say isn't always accurate. It's always a good thing to check stuff out.
Yep, Warren was who I was thinking of.
Better for the Cheap Labor Express.
They want to be able to keep importing the workers for the jobs that can’t be exported.
The Club for Growth and similar groups can forgive any and all sins against free markets as long as a candidate A. favors open borders and B. opposes tariffs. To the Kochs, having access to a cheap labor pool at home and abroad is more important than even cutting taxes, deregulation, or reducing welfare.
Since GATT, tariffs on Chinese and most other foreign manufactured goods have been low, and GATT caps the amount by which these can be raised in the future. The real question is whether Trump or any other candidate can renege on GATT.
It’ll be fun rubbing this in the faces of rabid lefty Koch-haters.
I've always been surprised by the hatred the Left has for the Kochs, when the Kochs are moderate to liberal on most social issues. While Bernie Sanders has put economic Leftism center stage, as a general rule, liberals today care much more about social, racial and cultural radicalism than they do about economic socialism. They're willing to forgive Bill Clinton for tax cuts and welfare reform because Clinton supported trendy causes like gays in the military and embraced the "first black president" label. They can forgive JFK's (general) free market instincts and opposition to a growing welfare state because he was a liberal on desegregation, etc.
Since social and racial radicalism is the defining litmus test for the Left, it's still a mystery as to why the socially moderate Kochs became their number one bogeyman (or bogeymen).
Because every tyrant knows you’ve got to have a scapegoat, and if there isn’t one, you make one up.
