President Hillary is totally unacceptable!

Free Republic stands for God, family, country! America!

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United State of America."

Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity is our mission on FR.

We cannot secure the blessings of liberty with Hillary in the White House.

When Trump wins the lion's share of the primary votes, states and delegates and the establishment installs someone else as the candidate, you've handed the election to Hillary.

Trump is the only anti-establishment candidate in the race and has won the lion's share of votes, states and delegates and is on track to continue amassing the lion's share of the votes, states and delegates by direct vote of the people.

We the People have voted and are voting to finally wrest control of our government from the entrenched corrupt establishment, aka, the uni-Party.

Cruz, Kasich, et al are mathematically eliminated and cannot win the nomination per the voters. They can attempt to re-wrest the nomination away from Trump and away from We the People only by corrupt establishment treachery at the convention. And that will split and destroy the party and guarantee a Hillary win.

NeverTrump is a losing proposition and will lead to a loss of liberty and loss of country.

This is totally unacceptable.

After the corrupt establishment losing twice in a row to Marxist Obama, I'm damned tired of the corrupt establishment and damned tired of losing.

If you are a NeverTrump type person, you are working against our purposes on FR, so please opus out now and log off and let us carry on with our mission in peace.

Continue insulting us with 24/7 anti-Trump diatribes and insults, your opus will be assumed.

We will unite behind our nominee and we will win this coming election (with or without you) and we will get a handle on this divided forum very soon.

Hope you understand my position.

By the way, Cruz's campaign still refuses to answer the question whether or not Cruz will support Trump if he's the nominee. He's taking the GOPe route of preferring Hillary over Trump. This is also totally unacceptable.

Well, that’s just it. A good president would have prevented the civil war, and come to better negotiations. ANY option would have been better then decimating half of the country and millions of Americans.

As a kid in the North (and I’m an old guy), we were taught about the civil war, and in such tones (such as the south had it coming, and yes we financially punished them, therefore Lincoln was great), that we actually bought into it all.

Later in life though, as one reads and learns more about the history of such, my own thoughts to go the notion this war was unavoidable, but rather he was egged on and goaded into it, made to feel that there was no alternative (or he just had bad judgement).

If Lincoln were alive today and asked “was it worth it”? I wonder what his response would be.

Time would have been a better strategy to end slavery, and states rights would have been kept intact.

Cutting off the process now would deprive [Trump] of the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to win in November provided he can win the nomination.

So Cruz needs to stay in and force and try to force a contested convention because Donald Trump needs a civics lesson?

The rationalizations are really getting silly, at this point...

Personally, I’m fine with people supporting whichever candidate their heart and conscience tells them would make the best POTUS, as long as their brain is honestly considering the ‘law of unintended consequences’.

Even though your heart and conscience tells you that Cruz is that man, can you honestly say that supporting him now, and withholding that support from Trump, will not aid and abet the enemy?

The legitimate purpose of requiring a majority (1237) is to arrive at a stronger consensus. Obviously, unanimity is the strongest consensus, followed by a super majority, then a majority, then a plurality, in that order.

The purpose of having a system of unbound delegates and multiple ballots, is to make it possible to resolve a plurality into a majority, for the sake of a stronger consensus.

Does anyone really think that is why the GOPe is pushing the #neverTrump contested convention meme?

No! They are clearly pushing it for the opposite reason - trying to thwart what appears to be a strong and building consensus, because the consensus is forming around Trump, an outsider candidate that would disenfranchise their established influence peddling cartel.

Cruz and his supporters need to accept that their mission, however noble at the outset, has now been fully co-opted by the GOPe insiders. Their path to 1237 on a 2nd or 3rd ballot is a wolf in sheep’s clothing - the Cruz wishful thinkers are simply being used by the GOPe #neverTrump alliance.

You have that “special” way with words. Carefully chosen, to skirt the edges of compliance. Barely enough to possibly be technically correct while at the same time, leaving a negative, sarcastic footprint.

I do not care who you vote for. That is a decision that is personal, between you and your conscience.

My comment concerns basic common courtesy. It would be respectful to honor the perimeters of what the site owner has expressed, in “spirit” and in “truth”.

Just be nice.

An interesting observation but, following that logic, doesn't Trump himself equal "NeverCruz" at this point. Indeed, aren't all political contest "NeverEveryoneElse" at some point. I have never heard of an active candidate supporting or looking out for the interest of his opponent.

When Donald Trump sweeps these Northeast states and gets the lion's share of their delegates, and with Cruz coming in last place multiple times, it's clear that Indiana will go for Trump as well, which will be still more confirmation of Trump's inevitability,

If you are really confident of this, what better outcome could be attained than to have a candidate who won a clear majority on his own merits rather than to win by default.

Well, I haven’t financially supported anyone. However, had been a political until ~1998 & was looking forward to voting for a conservative for the 1st time...& I will do so in my primary. In the last 2 general elections, I held my nose & voted for my 5th or 6th choices...so by the time of this general election I won’t be withholding my support (aka my vote) from the nominee...

Do you seriously doubt the outcome on Tuesday?

This is evolving into a mere formality, with Ted Cruz trying to clearly monkey wrench the process, and refusing to face reality, with all the attendant pitfalls and negative ramifications, and zero benefit other that to feed his own ego.

Ted Cruz's egotism and narcissism make Donald Trump's pale in comparison at this point, since if the situation were reversed, the call for Trump's withdrawal would be deafening.

Now is the time to unite. If not, certainly Wednesday morning at the latest.

Cruz is really being blind at this point.

Probably best that I take a break from posting until after November. I won’t vote Trump and don’t want to cause trouble here.

That said I wish you luck in your attempt at unity. A thought for the Trump supporters: filling this thread with insults or attacks on Cruz supporters works against the call to unity.

With any luck come November we won’t have a President Clinton again!

I think that’s admirable. I will be doing the same...

My first voting age election was 1976. I voted for my candidate of choice in the PA primary, then held my nose to vote for Ford in the general. In 1980, I was lucky enough to get to vote for my candidate of choice in the PA primary and also in the general election - both victorious! I may finally get a repeat of that experience 36 years later - fingers crossed.

I don’t fault Cruz for not dropping out, nor do I fault his supporters for hanging in there to the bitter end.

My beef is with the #neverTrump types here on FR who take every opportunity to put Trump and his supporters in the worst possible light, and yet pass up similar opportunities to condemn Obama or Clinton!

My beef is with #neverTrump types here on FR who can’t respect my opinion that Trump is the only candidate who passes the Buckley test, namely, that he is the most conservative candidate who is also electable. I’m growing weary of being insulted and having my intelligence or conservatism doubted, simply for having that opinion.

You are clearly not one of those I have a beef with my FRiend!

Being told I must vote for a particular candidate doesn’t sit well with me no matter how well intentioned that call may be.

I’ll vote or not vote for whatever candidate I choose and that choice will not be made on the basis of my membership in any particular forum or group.

This is your property and you have the right to set the bar for membership as you like. I’d already made the decision to refrain from posting until after the election. I’ll sign off now and zot me if you like
