Ted Cruz Now Says 'We Are Headed to a Contested Convention'

Sen. Ted Cruz for the first time said he believes the Republican Party is headed to a contested convention.

Cruz had previously called a contested convention likely and that it seemed the party was heading in that direction. But after a disappointing third-place loss in New York Tuesday, the Texas Republican is no longer saying he plans to beat front-runner Donald Trump at the ballot box.

"We are headed to a contested convention,” Cruz said in an interview with Philadelphia talk-radio personality Chris Stigall this morning. “At this point, nobody is getting 1,237. Donald is going to talk all the time about other folks not getting to 1,237; he’s not getting there either. None of us are getting to 1,237.”

And he’s right about one thing. After the New York primary, it is now mathematically impossible for Cruz to clinch the Republican nomination using bound or pledged delegates before the July convention in Cleveland.

Oh give me a break, Trump is exposing how the system is corrupt NOW and all you want to continue to deflect.

Cruz and the GOPe are trying to undermine the will of the American people, when you stop to look at this in reality, stop being so obtuse.

“Ted’s staying around now for one reason-—to increase his earning power. Figures the more times his name and picture are in the news, the more earning power he’ll have.”

I figure McConnell and Goldman Sachs guaranteed Ted 7 figures if he toughs it out as a spoiler.

It was a closed Primary. Your analysis has no merit. No one but long registered GOP could vote.

The “Trump is no conservative” is a meme especially created to divide us. Don’t be fooled. They have been playing this for months.

I ask, if the Pope is Catholic, who is the Conservative Pope? If you find him and Trump kisses his papal ring, is Trump, then, conservative enough for you?

Do you even realize how dumb that sounds? One man can’t split a party in half. If the party splits in half it is because half the people in the party can no longer tolerate the other half, which leaves a whole lot more than just one person responsible.

“You are only doing the bidding of the GOPe now.”

Cruz is a member in good standing with the GOPe. Has been since he got into politics courtesy of GW Bush. The biggest story of this campaign has been Cruz calling himself an outsider and people actually believing it. He think his establishment pals will throw the election to him on the second ballot after the people of America have soundly rejected it. And that does not bother him in the least.

Of course not, because if Kasich had dropped out it would have hurt Trump, so they don’t want that.

Lincoln was nominated in a time when the caucus system was the only viable system. People were isolated by horse an buggy modes of travel. Today the process can be streamlined and, has been, with processes like we saw in New York.

As Trump is campaigning in Indiana today Cruz is in Florida trying to get in the front of the door of the RNC meeting. The reason? To kiss their ass some more and make sure everything is still on for them to steal the election for him on the second ballot. Cruz is lower than low. Not even eligible to run for the office and the hispanic version of Obama is going all out trying to get the nomination, which will split the Republican Party for years to come. If the GOPe screws Trump for Cruz it means one thing and one thing only. They would rather lose with Cruz than Trump beat Hillary Clinton. They know that Cruz has no conceivable way in the world of beating her in a general election, but they would rather have her than Trump. Cruz actually thinks they like him and actually thinks they think he can win. He’s delusional.

A contested convention means an uncontested coronation for Hillary. Ted will have a place of honor in the New Order. Oh wait. They usually shoot the Useful Idiots after the revolution, don’t they?

The will of the people? So far Trump has won a majority only in his home state. Even if he wins the presidency, he will receive less than a majority of the eligible voters. This idea of the President as the tribune of the people has dangerously increased the power and ambition of the President since Wilson’s time.

>>You are not suggesting that he won’t make use of the Establishment?

Making use of the Establishment is not the same as being used by the Establishment.
