Trump, Clinton Sweep New York
howiecarrshow.com ^ | 4/20/16 | Howie Carr

Rafael Ted Cruz, Jr. had a big problem last night with New York values.

His problem was, New York values a chance to actually vote for the candidates. So the Empire State didn’t cancel its primary, or pick the delegates in smoke-filled back rooms, the way Ted Cruz prefers to have the fights fixed for him by his Republican-in-name-only (RINO) handlers.

Another problem for Cruz: he’s the favorite son… of Calgary, Alberta. Donald Trump is the favorite son of Queens, New York.

They weren’t counting Donald Trump’s votes last night in New York, they were weighing them. And for the record, even before last evening, Trump had 8.2 million votes in all the primaries so far, compared to Ted Cruz’s 6.3 million.

Remember that the next time you hear Cruz bragging about his string of “victories” or dismissing “hard-core Trump supporters.” Yesterday Ted said the Trump campaign was “a Kim Kardashian reality show.” What does that make the Cruz campaign – a Pat Nee reality show? Which lasted, what, four weeks.

Another New York value — New York is in the Eastern time zone. Cruz can’t buy a thrill here in the East. (The only state he’s won here is Maine, which had, what else, caucuses.) Cruz also doesn’t sell in populous areas, except for his home state, Alberta – I mean, Texas, which is Central time. Likewise, Cruz is a killer in the Mountain time zone. Willard M. Romney thinks Cruz is the bee’s knees.

In the Mountain time zone, with their 53 or so electoral votes, Cruz is the toast of the town. In New York, he’s just plain toast.

But New York? His kind of town, New York is not Ted Cruz’s kind of town, or state. Not enough holy rollers or snake handlers. Not everybody in New York speaks English, but very few speak in tongues. Sorry, Rafael.

Poor Cruz has got the same problem these next few weeks. Take the Nutmeg State – don’t see too many al fresco baptisms along the banks of the Connecticut River in Hartford. Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart were never SRO in Bridgeport.

Poor Ted Cruz. He’s got to be thinking this morning… if only the GOP had super delegates, like the Democrats do. Dammit, Hillary doesn’t have to worry about losing all these primaries! All the RINO’s are falling in behind Rafael, even Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate majority leader whom Cruz called a liar on the floor of the Senate last summer.

Now McConnell is telling a Louisville TV station that he’s “cautiously optimistic” that the convention will be “contested.” In other words, he’s cautiously optimistic that he and Paul Ryan-O and Willard and Juan Ellis Bush and all the rest of them can steal the nomination from the guy who got the most votes.

By the way, McConnell also denied that there was a “kabal,” and as he pointed out to his local reporter, if there was a RINO cabal, he’d definitely be part of it.

Yesterday Cruz threw out a few final insults, sneering that Trump’s campaign “does not seem capable of running a lemonade stand.”

Hey Ted, don’t you even think about opening a lemonade stand in Binghamton or Buffalo, in Poughkeepsie or Plattsburgh, in the Bronx or Brooklyn, not unless you’re planning to sell hard lemonade. And it still wouldn’t go over, even if you named your chain New York Values Lemonade.

It shouldn't have mattered in terms of one's home state. Cruz is a sitting senator from Texas. He already had existing political infrastructure throughout the state to operate his primary campaign. He had the endorsements of Perry and Abbot. Trump got 27% and Rubio 18%.

Cruz's percentage of the vote total was one of the lowest in recent history for a Rep candidate in his home state. He should have been much closer to 50%.

Kasich got 47% in Ohio. Cruz finished third in NY while Trump finished second in Texas. Cruz also finished well back in Ohio (13%) behind Kasich and Trump. In fact, Cruz received 440,000 fewer votes than Trump and almost 700,000 less than Kasich.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig. Cruz got destroyed in NY and no amount of rationalization can change the facts. Cruz under-performed in NY.

Hillary Clinton : 1,037,344 ( forget Sanders 700K +)
Trump + Kasich +Cruz: 855,000

New York Values on display. Over 1,737 votes for socialism.
Senator Hillary Clinton of New York, New York values on display.

Cross over Dems voting, New York values on display.

No one questions the heroism during and after 9-11. It's the socialist political structure in New York that is questionable.

You can only vote in your own Primary in New York. The Democrats who would have voted for Trump could not do so. (But they can and will in November.)

Is everyone in NY a registered Dem or Republican? How many unregistered voters vote in presidential elections on average? Provide me those answers and then I’ll let you know whether your Cruz talking point makes any relevant point.

“... 3 million Independent voters registered in New York ...”

And vast numbers of those WILL vote Trump. New Yorkers in droves are disgusted by the way the democrats have ruined the state by making it inhospitable to business through its high taxes and encouraging the loss of manufacturing.
................................

Just like they did in 2012?

“Lincoln stacked the room before the other delegates could get in and that is how he won which led to over half million deaths.”

Oh you didn’t say that huh? Keep trying.

which led, not responsible, . Again you need to read and understand , instead of jumping to conclusion.

Does it ever get bored trolling and always being wrong?

..............................................

Last time I looked Ted Cruz is a Southern Baptist. They to my knowledge don't speak in tongues, holy roll, or handle snakes.

A lot of the attacks on Cruz are about his faith. It seems those who do the attacking would prefer someone who pays lip service to Christianity. They would prefer someone who doesn't get their values from our Judeo Christian heritage, but from the progressive (socialist) left. Freedom from religions seems their creed, and a dismissal of the basis of our shared morality.

Iowa values on display Bernie won! - lost on the bogus coin toss game.

There are lots of hotbeds of liberalism in the USA. NYC does not make the top 5. Ever been to Seattle, San Fran, Oakland, Madison,.....

See post #80 above by stonehouse. Trump could win NY State and that would be fabulous!

“2012?”

What does that have to do with anything? You missed the whole point - Trump is not Romney - that IS the whole point!

There is someone (Trump) now palatable to the blue collar Reagan democrats this time around. Cruz would not inspire these cross over votes, just as Romney could not, and Bush before him.

Exactly - see my post #80 also for a longer version explaining this.

I’ve been reading about all the poling place issues. Now if Cruz wins a state and there are minor issues the Trumpsters claim it was rigged. Where are the trumpsters claiming NY was rigged?

But with all the polling errors and violations who knows how much he truly won by. I mean when Cruz wins he gets accused of cheating. In NY we have proof of voting violations...how do we know Trump really won by that much?

For all his mockery of Christianity, it's that lack that has made NYS the economic hell hole it is and why people are leaving the state in droves.

He is also woefully ignorant of the Upstate, (outside NYC) demographic.

We are a red state controlled by a few blue cities.

Any vote for president that is not democratic is a throw away vote in NY.
