After Donald Trump began racking up big victories deep into the Republican primary election, there was a widespread call for his remaining challengers to clear the field and let one person consolidate the anti-Trump vote. Those calls intensified briefly when the field was whittled down to its current three, with more than a little anger Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who hadnt won anywhere but his home state.
Those calls have been muted recently though, as the GOP seemed to accept that Kasich was in it for the duration, regardless of his mathematical elimination from the race for the 1,237 delegates needed for a first-ballot majority.

But surveys show that many Cruz supporters would switch to Trump.
Romney Speaks. It’s over Donald. Go home...
This jackass is the ultimate cooler.
So I have a question for you, lets say trump and Cruz don't get to 1237. And it is clear Cruz has the delegates to win on a second ballot. Does the selfless Donald Trump suspend his campaign for the good of the country, the party etc?
Nope he has already called for a riot.
Until Trump gets 1237 this is still a race. And if it goes to second ballot, it is OVER. Cruz wins BIG.
Either Romney is conceding Trump getting the nomination or is working to get Kasich to withdraw.
YOU said it!
Romney has inspired an avalanche of revulsion on his own volition.
Before, he was simply thought another GOPE plant and a weakling who needed his wife to do all the talking and get him to even show up.
He still choked, as Trump aptly pointed out.
How about you BIOYA, mitt. Go away.
Keith Olbermann and Mitt Romney know what it’s like when Trump steals someone special from them.
There isn’t going to be a contested convention. Cruz has lost at the ballot box and nothing is going to change that. The GOP isn’t going to commit suicide for Ted Cruz. LOL.
I think the good things you say about Romney are true, and I don't dislike him. But even well intentioned people are capable of doing tremendous damage. Intentions don't unwind that damage.
It is a fair argument, then, I think, to call him a bufoon -> even in the face of sucessful business pursuits and raising a good and decent family, even with his charity.
Well intentioned buffoon, like so many - his arrogance blinds him, he doesn't question himself. I grew up in MA and worked in Boston/Cambridge for many years - part of the delusion there is that ... they just can't be wrong because after all, they are from Boston. It shortcuts being encumbered by a self reflective review process. Usually it's liberals ... but then Romney is not far from being a liberal.
There is a Boston thought process, and it's characterized by removing the 'process' part of it. So it becomes "It occurred to me, therefore it's true." Very very peculiar, and very specific to Boston. I try to watch myself for it, I'm sure I'm infected by some of it ... but then ... that couldn't be because ... I'm from Boston.
Perhaps if Paul Ryan was sincere in declining a drive by nomination, Romney knew then that there was no one left to mount a battle against the people’s obvious choice for the nomination— TRUMP.
Kasickkk is certainly not the man to do it. Cruz has tried and failed to get off the ground with the people.
What’s left for the GOPE? Romney ruined the GOPE, with his nefarious convention rules against Ron Paul. Cruz continues to campaign on nothing now but the Second Ballot.
It makes him look more like Romney every time he opens his mouth.
No, Romney supports whomever has the best chance of stopping Trump. At one point Romney supported Cruz, another Kasich, yet another a mystery candidate at the convention. Romney is a RINO and wants Cruz to get the nomination as much as Romney wants Trump to get it.
First ballot eliminated. You know that.
“And Romney has chosen to feverishly back the most conservative candidate.”
Perhaps or maybe he’s backing the candidate most likely to be a puppet.
They all know Trump will expose the corruption, change the game, and do what the people want inspite of RNC pressure to not do it.
“I don’t like Ted Cruz. But among those running [he claims] he’s the most conservative.”
Little edit there in the interest of precision.
Ted wasn’t made in America. He can’t be Prez or VP.
The Utah powerful cushioned the blow last week before our County Conventions. Told us no litmus test on who the nominee had to be that we needed someone who could actually win the election by appealing to a wider audience.
Does not sound like conservative stalwarts for Cruz.
Romney did not endorse Cruz and Romney’s best friends endorsed Kasich.
Because I can add and subtract.
No one will make 1237. Go google any given poll analysis.
