After Donald Trump began racking up big victories deep into the Republican primary election, there was a widespread call for his remaining challengers to clear the field and let one person consolidate the anti-Trump vote. Those calls intensified briefly when the field was whittled down to its current three, with more than a little anger Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who hadnt won anywhere but his home state.
Those calls have been muted recently though, as the GOP seemed to accept that Kasich was in it for the duration, regardless of his mathematical elimination from the race for the 1,237 delegates needed for a first-ballot majority.

Tomorrow Cruz will be mathematically eliminated as well ...
What’s the matter with Romney? Suddenly afraid that the unwashed masses (that’s you and me) rising up against him?
Good. He should be afraid. This is 1968 in Chicago and the people who wear ties and pocket protectors are now the ones messing up the convention. Not with violence but with right on our side.
Get used to it!
On the other hand, if either Mr. Cruz or Mr. Kasich decides to become inactive, if you will, after New York, then I think its likely we get to a contested convention.
In a contested convention, he said, he believes all three of the remaining candidates has a legitimate shot at the nomination.
However, he added, if Trump finishes the primaries close to a majority, he might be able to seal the deal before the convention by appealing to the hundreds of delegates who will come to the convention uncommitted and able vote for the candidate of their choice on the first ballot.
My guess is that some delegates might like to fly around on Air Trump, or get a membership to Mar-a-Lago, Romney said, referring to Trumps private airplane and his exclusive golf resort in Florida. Trump, he said, has quite a few ways to be persuasive Romney said, and picking off 50 or 100 delegates shouldnt be too difficult."
He was asked his opinion and he gave it, what’s your point?
Crooks still are, and always will be, running our political process.
How perfect lol
The point is Romney is a joke, a buffoon and the establishment are desperate and grasping at straws..
I’m not so sure Romney has it right, and I’m reasonably certain that both Kasich and Cruz being in the NY race will keep Trump’s delegate haul below what it would otherwise be. He could sweep all 95 delegates in a two man race, but is unlikely to do so with both Cruz and Kasich in the race.
Cruz will NOT be mathematically eliminated until Trump gets 1237 delegates
Trump gets even more delegates if Cruz or Kasich somehow drops out.
Kasich seems to be running 2nd in the polls of the NE states. So, Cruz may not have any stopping power left.
Trump needs 481 of the remaining 775. He would have to lose 295 delegates to be mathematically eliminated.
Cruz needs 693 of the remaining 775. If he loses 83, he is mathematically eliminated.
[According to ‘hard’ delegates at thegreenpapers.com]
For all intents and purposes, he’s eliminated now and has been since Super Tuesday. He’s been living in fantasyland since...
Have you noticed that the primaries to select a candidate (both parties) are much like The EMMY AWARDS ?
And Ted loves their support.
Have you see. Cruz’s numbers? It IS a two man race...Trump and Kasich.
He need to STHU and go back to wiping his butt with $50 bills
