Republican Party Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is taking a swipe at GOP frontrunner Donald Trump over his complaints about the Colorado delegate-selection process.

Reince Priebus @Reince

Honest question -- do you think Trump saying that the Republican Party is a bunch of cheaters and liars will help him get to 1237, and will help him get the support of other Republicans if he is the nominee?

Honest question...as opposed to? ;-)

It could. I believe conservatives are slow but deep in their anger, and this has been building a long time. Start with George (Read my lips! No new taxes!) Bush. Then Bob (Tax collector for the welfare state) Dole. George (We're not going to engage in nation building) Bush. John (This is an election year, so I'm a conservative) McCain. Last but not least, Mitt (The grandfather of Obamacare) Romney...all 'electable,' if we would just hold our noses and vote for them.

The House and Senate forgot who sent them there, so they lost both houses. They came back slowly "If you elect a Repub House, we'll stop Obama..." well, not so much.

"If we have the Senate also, we will stop Obama/Obamacare in his tracks." Of course, not before McConnell pledged to not shut down the government . Boehner was driven from his leadership position just in time for his replacement to give Obama everything he asked for. Still no budget.

Now we're told we won't be choosing the nominee; the party does. I honestly don't know how politicians can be as tone deaf as they seemingly are.

They created their Trumpenstein monster. They seemingly remove their foot from their mouths only to insert the other. They've declared war on their front runner, seemingly in contradiction of the principles they claim to hold. We hear whining about Trump receiving a disproportionate share of delegates compared to the actual vote...but the party seemingly has no problem with Cruz receiving 100% of the delegates with NO vote.

The party is pouring gasoline on the fire, so you tell me...how big will the fire get?

The “game” included 10 second speeches by “delegates” Cruzers look like such tools defending this garbage. Please do carry on.

I was at the Colo State Convention, lodi90. Were you?

OBVIOUSLY NOT!

First of all, it was 15 sec, not 10 sec per candidate running for the delegate slots.

And secondly, we had ***619*** FREAKING CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR ONLY 13 DELEGATE + 13 ALTERNATE SLOTS, FER CRYIN OUT LOUD!!!

So tell me, what do *YOU* consider as "fair"?

5 minutes per candidate, perhaps?

Do you have a calculator handy?

Never mind, I'll do it for you.

If all 619 candidates had 5 minutes to speak, it would only have required us sitting in that cramped arena seating, accessible only by the steepest steps, to remain a mere 51 hours and 35 minutes longer!!

Or could we cut it from 5 to *1* minute each, and still managed to pass your smell test for "Fair"? Calculator time again ..... That would have kept us there for just another *5* hours. Sound reasonable to you? Do you know anything about Colorado? As it is, most of us (the ones who didn't drive in Fri night) had to drive hours from various points in Colorado to get there for a 7am checkin that was jammed and still going on at 9:30am, and the earliest anyone got out was around 4:30pm.

But those of us who loyally responded to the pleas to stay put so as to be around for a possible 2nd ballot on the Senate nominee (which didn't happen PTL!) didn't get out until 6:30pm. Add 5 hours to that, on your calculator, please. Do you know how long it takes the West Slope delegates to drive home from the Front Range?

So *no* - I am not going to apologize on behalf of my fellow Colorado Republicans for limiting the candidates to 15 seconds each. Even with that limit, the final candidate finished their 15 seconds with less than 5 minutes to go before the original deadline for turning ballots in expired.

And as I mentioned in this post, this phase of the State Convention was just one more example of how the Cruz campaign was highly organized on the day of the convention and the Trump campaign under their newbie Colorado Coordinator (appointed just 72 hours earlier, I hear), seemed to be without a clue, and in this case unable to do simple math. Because when you have 188 Cruz-pledged and 48 Trump-pledged candidates running for 13 Delegate slots, each campaign has to take measures to ensure their supporters don't dilute their votes. And Team Trump didn't take those measures during the candidate's 15-sec speeches, but Team Cruz did it. Because time and again when the Cruz-pledged candidates got up there, they used their 15 sec to say "Don't vote for me! Vote for the Cruz slate". I never heard a single Trump-pledged candidate say the same.

BTW, in addition to the reasons I detailed in the above link, I've now read of yet more reasons why Trump's people failed to get at least 1 or 2 Colorado Delegates - which they should have been able to do with any reasonable level of organization:

Reference material here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3418757/posts .... and here.

BOTTOM LINE:

Because all this BULLCRAP against Colorado is embittering a lot of us who every single day these past 4 days see the appearance of yet another hysterical lie against our home state that's easy to debunk if anyone cares, though 98% of the people reading the lie don't have the time or the google skills, or just don't care to do so, and thus will get all worked up against Republicans in Colorado.

I don't blame Trump for this travesty. I blame his supporters, especially on FR. If he gets the nomination, of course I will go out and support him this Fall. Anything is better than Hillabernie! But if I have to rub elbows with his supporters to do it, well, that's something that was a "given" up until this week, and is now in the "Iffy" column. So go ahead and make my day and help me make that decision. And maybe I'll spend this Fall figuring out creative ways to support Trump while avoiding all contact with his supporters.

DON'T MESS WITH COLORADO

You blame a robbery on the victim. The victim was democracy— the will of the people replaced with secret oligarchy and absurd rules designed to screw the people. Your defense is pathetic and absurd. We are pissed and we will never forget. You like rules? Get ready. We are going to use the rules on scruz very soon.

I've been for Cruz first all along. But he's missing the boat. Trump has outflanked him, has him confused, has him rattled and now Cruz is falling into the same trap as Bush, Carson, Fiorina and all the others who attacked him and lost.

Personal attack mode against the populist favorite and national leader buys you no points whatsoever. Cruz should ignore Trump and stay on HIS OWN message! And make it bolder!

And stay the hell away from Beck, Lowry and the National RINO Review and the Gang of 22 GOP losers. The last thing Cruz needs is to team up with DC insiders!

Trump is running and winning with his anti-GOP, anti-insider, anti-establishment, anti-DC, anti-PC, anti-illegal-alien, anti-Muslim-invasion, and anti-business-as-usual platform.

He's pushing and winning with his bold secure the borders, secure the nation, deport them all, ban the Muslims, send them back, restore our religious freedom, defend our guns, defend our local education, cut the taxes, cut the regulations, cut the EPA, cut the bad deals, cut the crap, grow the economy, bring back capital and jobs, bring back manufacturing, rebuild our powerful military and make America great again message.

It's what the PEOPLE want and are hungry for. They want strong, successful, positive, bold and unabashedly pro-America, pro-capitalism leadership! A winner!

It's about the people, stupid!

He still hasn't learned that a scorched-earth primary campaign is ultimately counter-productive. Even if you win, you will have alienated so many people that you will have screwed yourself for the general election. He just doesn't seem to understand that making more moderate statements and appearing more Presidential will actually win him more votes. This constant complaining and slamming of the party itself is making his own nomination less likely.

The Republicans would have had the November election in the bag a month or two ago if they had just held their nose, and gone with Trump - like they tell us to do every four years in November.

But, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I have no sympathy. Burn it all down.

You blame a robbery on the victim.

Can't you read? The victim was Trump. The "robbers" were his incompetent staff in Colorado, as seen by Trump firing his Colo Coordinator three days before 12 of our delegates were elected, and 3-1/2 days before 13 more were elected. It's called "Too Little, Too Late".

The victim was democracy— the will of the people

Well, EXCUUUUUUUSE me! I guess it's all my fault that in my County, 1583 Cruz supporters, 780 Rubio supporters, 358 Carson supporters, 199 Kasich supporters, and 495 Trump supporters each drove a couple of minutes to their local precinct caucuses in good weather on a Tuesday night in March to show their preferences, and that allegedly much larger armies of Trump Supporters who could have easily turned the tide decided to stay home and watch the finale of Dancing With The Stars or the latest Kardashian Show or the finale to Survivor or whatever, and then later whine about how unfair it is they didn't get a ballot in the mail

And I suppose it's all my fault that Colorado Team Trump couldn't be bothered to do the same thing that Colorado Team Cruz did, namely inundate our mailboxes and our phone lines with paid ads, to motivate higher participation in the caucuses and conventions!

If you have even one ounce of integrity in your body, you'd ask yourself the old (Yogi Berra?) question:
WUZ WE ROBBED? OR DID WE T'ROW DA GAME AWAY?
and you'll realize the answer is the latter. Not you personally, but the Colorado team working for your chosen candidate.

replaced with secret oligarchy

You are beyond disgusting to label me and my friends working hard in the trenches year after year after year after year - and in the bad years as well as the good years - as "Oligarchs"!!

Your defense is pathetic and absurd.

You are so completely blind! Whereas I dig up and post *facts* from my firsthand observations - and from observations of friends I trust - of the doings here in Colorado .... yes, that's right, I said "HERE IN COLORADO", while you, who are God knows where, because you are too cowardly to even tell your fellow Freepers what State you are from - for pity's sake! - and only joined 8 months ago I see, just in time to sow dissension among Freepers with your constant Blood Libels, you choose to not respond to one single fact I post, but rather to hide behind a welter of ad hominem attacks ..... And *YOU* have the gall to call *MY* responses "pathetic"??

Ok, tell you what, alleged Freeper "Wendle". Your FR Tagline has inspired me to change my own Tagline from what it's been for the longest time now, namely "Folks ask about my politics. I say: I dont belong to any organized political party. I'm a Republican".

As of this moment I have a new tagline, and I will make a deal with you: As long as you keep up these BULLCRAP LIES about Colorado, I will keep my new Tagline. Is that a deal? Hope you enjoy it!

In CO, people weren’t allowed to vote

So I take it that the 60,000 Colorado Republicans who showed up on Caucus night are completely invisible to you?

Have you had your lens prescriptions checked recently?

There was no "fix," as has been shown in painstakingly detailed debunkings of the many anti-Colorado Blood Libels that you and others are spewing around on FR ... debunkings written up by myself and other Colorado Freepers who aren't sitting a timezone or two away like you are, but who are ACTUALLY RIGHT HERE IN COLORADO and participated in the Precinct Caucuses and the County Assemblies and State Convention processes.

..... Unless of course, you're arguing that "The Fix" was made by Cruz's people bribing Colorado Team Trump to totally screw over their boss in an astounding display of incompetence?

Nice strawman argument, though.

That's fine. But if the goal is to burn the GOP down, then why are you surprised that so many in the party oppose Trump? They'd have to be dumber than dirt to support the guy who comes into office to destroy it.

It just seems pretty funny to me that people who want to destroy the party are so shocked party officials don't want to cooperate.

Circular argument. Begging the question.

Referring me back to the same posts that I told you to cite your sources for much earlier in this argument is no kind of citation.

And most of the screaming wasn’t even relevant to the fact that the fix was in at the very beginning and they CO GOP actually TOLD us as much both before AND after.

You fail logic forever.

Good day.

Circular argument. Begging the question.

I am sorry that you are so reading-challenged, but there is nothing "circular" here at all.

First off, a majority of what I wrote is regarding my own experiences at the Caucus and State Conventions.

That is what is called a Primary Source, do you understand? *I* was there. Me, myself and I. *I* live in Colorado. *I* was at the Caucus. *I* was at the convention. Therefore it's ludicrous to read of my own personal experiences and come back with "Citation please?" What part of "First Person Experience" do you not understand?

Secondly, I gave you figures and facts from people I know, such as PCP's in the District I'm responsible for, through conversations that night, and from emails exchanged later. Those are Secondary Sources, since I can't attend 5 Precinct Caucuses at once. If you demand proof, I'll forward you their emails, with contact info redacted obviously.

I also provided links (these pesky things that start with "http:") in my posts that show you the Prez Preference vote breakdown for the unsanctioned Straw Poll that my own "rebellious" county conducted, and the list of candidates who won the 2nd CD's three slots to Cleveland and their relative position in the voting and who they were pledged to. Those are what are called Primary Sources. What part of that don't you understand?

And then there's the state senator who provided via an email, aggregate figures for the 4 large "rebel" counties - Larimer, Weld, Adams, Boulder who defied the State GOP and held their own unsanctioned Prez Pref Polls. I can also forward his email to you if you demand. That way, he would be a Primary Source directly to you, rather than a Secondary Source through me.

I also provided links to online articles as well, eg the one that told about various boneheaded errors that Trump's Ground Game in Colo made in the 8 days culminating in the State Convention that explained some things about the Trump Crew's shortcomings I personally witnessed at the Convention that had been a mystery to me until this article. Did you miss seeing that link as well?

Of course, I do have to admit that there *is* one link I didn't give you. Instead, I said this:

All I had to do to find out the above was to read the titles of the videos and watch enough to find out his name (Larry Lindsey) and his county (Douglas County), and google those 4 words together, to find a number of debunking links mixed in with much more numerous screams of righteous outrage against the Colorado GOP.

I.e. I was framing that as an "Exercise Left Up To The Reader" thingie. If you find yourself facing insurmountable problems, either in attempting to google those 4 words, or in weeding through the large number of outraged Trump supporter postings within the google results to find the nuggets of truth, please let me know and I'll help you to find them. Both the ones I found and quoted from were on the first page of results.

fix was in at the very beginning and they CO GOP actually TOLD us as much both before AND after.

Who is "us"? Don't include me, because "they" - if you mean State GOP - didn't tell any of us that.

..... Unless of course you're referring to the utterly discredited Ryan Call, who much-deservedly lost his re-election bid to our current GOP State Chair Steve House a year ago, and is only now slithering out from under his rock in Ignominydom to say, "Oh yeah! The fix was in from the very start! Blame it all on that awful Steve House! The very same guy who, completely coincidentally of course, knocked me off my throne! It's all his fault! Print my words! Wow, I'm relevant again for the first time in a year or more! Look, Ma! I'm on TV again!!"

..... or unless you're referring to the "NeverTrump" tweet that was deleted 3 minutes after posting, and was almost certainly made by someone sitting in the State GOP's temporary Office On Wheels at the C Sprgs arena, who got their jollies by typing in a quick tweet on the laptop of the state communications director or whoever else was responsible for monitoring and posting to Social Media that day.

Wow! Wow! It's a bonafide Conspiracy, folks!!! Some doofus typing on a laptop he had no business being on, or at least if he was *supposed* to have access, then certainly was not authorized to post a tweet from it as if he was an official spokesman for the Colo GOP. But whatever, because we've decided that this is 100% PROOF that "Da Fix Was In," or at least 100% proof for anyone with an ax to grind who is desperate to point fingers at anyone other than the Colorado operatives for Trump, who are the real "November Criminals!" in this sordid story of serial screwups.

FYI, re Ryan Call, rather than repeat what I said about him earlier, you can find those words in the last two multi-line paragraphs here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/gop/3419857/posts?page=94#94

And yes, every single one of the firsthand stories and external links I mention above are within those two links I posted to you, which you are dissing as "circular arguments".

You fail logic forever.

For someone who fails elementary reading comprehension skills, your claim to know what's logical and what's not is eminently laughable.

And if after all this, you still whine, "Waaa! He didn't give me any citations!" then you drop off the list of "Possible Fool" and right into the list of "Proven Congenital Liars".

Good day

Good Grief
