YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM!

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.

Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.

On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally.

But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s decision.

Last week Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.

Today the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup.

They held a non-sanctioned meeting and blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.

This email was sent out Monday afternoon.

St. Louis, Missouri:

“At 2pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.

“The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.

“This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight.”

This is a developing story—-

Wow. SMH. Many of Cruz’s supporters here on FR are the same way...mean spirited and nasty.

I have a few in mind. I checked out the posting history of one of the aholes and all he does is post anti-Trump stuff ...going back three pages. Much of it trolling designed to piss off Trump supporters

If someone says they’re pro second amendment, then says except for .....I don’t think people here would say they are pro second amendment. When someone goes against the core beliefs of your organization, somethings wrong. Phylis did that.

Trump is ok with abortion for rape (not the babies fault their father was a criminal and incest. Not sure where he stands on life of the mother. That is NOT the prolife stand.
__________________________________________

But it was the Right To Life stand in their early days of the 1980s...

No abortion except for rape, incest, or the life of the “mother”...

and yes I argued with them about it...

I was pro-life before pro-life was cool...

While Right To Life was not pro-life..

No it would not be OK, because they violated the bylaws.

BTW, it was a personal endorsement, not an organizational one.

Close but not quite accurate. First, Phyllis asked her daughter and five others to resign. They refused. Then, they held a board meeting to remove the current president. Phyllis participated in the conference call.

This is mostly a family civil war between Phyllis and her daughter. Pretty much the entire board believes Phyllis was manipulated by Donald Trump due to her age and her lack of interaction with the grassroots.

My memory says that Abe Lincoln also entered the presidency as an unbeliever. His final writings suggest he came to believe. The job humbled him. The same with Nebuchadnezzar.

So the board members who endorsed Cruz think Phyllis was manipulated by Trump? Shocking.

BTW, it was a total sleaze ball gaslighting move for Ted Cruz to issue a press release touting Eagle Forum members endorsements right before Phyllis endorsed Trump. It strong implied the Eagle Forum was endorsing Cruz when obviously it was not. What an awful think to do to a 91 year old woman. Shame on Ted Cruz.

-- No mention of anyone trying to get Ann to resign from the board. --

That was a separate action, and one that propbably precipitated the board calling a meeting.

Phyllis Schlafly Wants Own Daughter Out | The Daily Caller | 04/11/2016

Longtime conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly has asked her daughter and five others to resign from the board of Eagle Forum after tension spread through the group over Schlafly's endorsement of Donald Trump.

Schlafly asked board members Eunie Smith, Carolyn McLarty, Anne Cori, Rosina Kovar, Shirley Curry, and Cathie Adams to step down in an April 10 letter. Cori is Schafly's daughter. All but Curry have endorsed Ted Cruz in the Republican presidential primary.

I recall, Nana. Marlowe was an opponent of Romney to the bitter end. He might have decided to drink the poison at the bitter end, but it had to have been the last week. I don’t know if he voted for him or not. We were Goode supporters easily until September.

When someone goes against the core beliefs

The pro-life movement is a fraud, as seen by their reaction to when Trump said that women who commit the sin of abortion should not face any kind of consequence for breaking the law. That said, Phyllis was not speaking for Eagles Forum in the endorsement, so using thug tactics to remove her from that organization and attempting to seize the bank accounts is not justified.

Phyllis says they muted her within 11 minutes of the meeting, which was organized contrary to their bylaws and handled contrary to bylaws. No mention of anyone trying to get Ann to resign from the board.

The following link provides a copy of the letter in which Phyllis asked Anne to resign on April 10th.

The following link provides quotes from the board members about Phyllis' participation in the meeting.

When we have a copy of the bylaws, we can determine whether or not they were violated. Until then, it's an accusation by one offended party in a family civil war.

That article pretty well confirms that this is over Cruz vs. Trump. Some of the other posters pretending it’s a “family squabble” unrelated to Cruz. It’s clear the Cruzers there have been itching to punish Schlafly.

Your first article makes it clear the fight is over her endorsement of Donald Trump, so the attempt to make this a "family civil war" unrelated to the Cruzer instinct to punish dissidents is false.

Yep. Here is the first shot of it. Cruz dumped this after word got out Phyllis was going to endorse Trump.
