YOU WON’T BELIEVE THIS! CRUZ SUPPORTERS ATTEMPT COUP AT EAGLE FORUM!

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly has been a national leader of the conservative movement since the publication of her best-selling 1964 book, A Choice Not An Echo. She has been a leader of the pro-family movement since 1972 when she led the fight to defeat the Equal Rights Amendment.

Phyllis Schlafly is 91 years-old.

On March 11, 2016 conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Donald Trump for President at his St. Louis rally.

But not everyone in her organization, Eagle Forum – or her family – agreed with Phyllis Schlafly’s decision.

Last week Phyllis Schlafly released several board members for disloyalty to the organization. The group was planning to hold rogue board meeting to take over the Eagle Forum.

Today the rogue Cruz supporters attempted a coup.

They held a non-sanctioned meeting and blocked Phyllis Schlafly from their conference call.

This email was sent out Monday afternoon.

St. Louis, Missouri:

“At 2pm today, 6 directors of Eagle Forum met in an improper, unprecedented telephone meeting. I objected to the meeting and at 2:11pm, I was muted from the call. The meeting was invalid under the Bylaws but the attendees purported to pass several motions to wrest control of the organization from me. They are attempting to seize access to our bank accounts, to terminate employees, and to install members of their own Gang of 6 to control the bank accounts and all of Eagle Forum.

“The members of their group are: Eunie Smith of Alabama, Anne Cori of Missouri, Cathie Adams of Texas, Rosina Kovar of Colorado, Shirley Curry of Tennessee, and Carolyn McLarty of Oklahoma.

“This kind of conduct will not stand and I will fight for Eagle Forum and I ask all men and women of good will to join me in this fight.”

This is a developing story—-

Phylis took it upon herself to endorse Trump without the consent of the rest of the members. Don’t waste your time getting all pumped up till you know the circumstances.

Are you really this obtuse??? Phyllis still has the ‘right’ to endorse whoever she wants.

That IS the circumstance...plain and simple.

The only ones pumped up around here are the cRuzer’s heads full of hot air or helium....thinking that dirty tricks are all the rage.

Newsflash, tesh....American’s ~ still by a large majority ~ believe our votes and things like bylaws should still count.

Acknowledge your sin and try to do better in the future is the maximum any Calvinist I know of every says is required and many don't even believe a public acknowledgment of any kind is required or even a good thing.

Calvinists believe those who are predestined for Heaven can do nothing to alter that fact and those destined for Hell can do nothing to alter that fact. Anything more or less is some mish mash of things stirred into Calvinism.

Since you refer to Trump's own admissions of wrong doing, by making that reference you admit that Trump is in fact a "Great Christian" by the standards he holds.

Too bad you don't think before you type. Now go on, you only need another 199 comments proving your ignorance on the topic you chose to introduce.

How do we know those attempting to take over are Cruz supporters and how do we know that Phyllis Schlafly endorsement of Donald Trump for President is what motivated them?

Because in the press release where Cruz alleged support from the Eagle Forum, he actually lists them!

Increasingly, with the passage of time revealing more and more of these shenanigans, Cruz appears to be little more than a Mafia lawyer with a rather odd religious bent.

If that's the kind of guy you want for president, have at it.

Me? I think I'll stick with Trump, who at least has real world experience getting things done. He's grounded in reality, has most all of the views I agree with, and displays none of the pathologies Cruz does.

CA....

You call Trump a liberal yet Cruz is copying all of Trump’s conservative positions. If Cruz was the conservative here how come he did not make them an issue before Trump? Why is it that in actions this election Trump is more conservative then Cruz?

Trump is not a Liberal nor is he a Phoney conservative like Cruz. Hes an American trying to save America from people like who Cruz is working for and with. Yeah he has warts. It’s the big things like survival of our sovereignty tho that matter - all the other stuff is in the long run not that important until you get the US back on track.

Trump addresses the Forest, Cruzers cannot see anything but a few trees.

You raise good points make no mistake I certainly acknowledge they are valid. However speaking for myself this activity gives me reason to pause.

I was silent when Jeff Sessions endorsed Trump for this same reason: there is no, or at least very little reason for this other than the plain simple implication.

In Session’s case the simple implication is that he does indeed support Trump, and believes him to be actually more conservative than Cruz.

In this case, the simple implication is that these people indeed had no right to do this and it is a coup.

To disbelieve this would be to assign a measure of mental incapacity to Ms. Schlafly. She clearly states this was not a valid meeting “according to the by-laws” so she’s either wrong or a liar.

I don’t think she’d ever lie about something like this so she can only be wrong. If she’s wrong, then it’s a sad case of age-related mental acuity decrease.

That’s certainly possible given her age, but there isn’t any evidence that I know of to indicate such a decrease. Just because I disagree with her choice of endorsement isn’t such evidence.

I suppose, as a Cruz supporter myself, I may have said too much already. One of my charges against many who support Trump is that they have been blinded by glitz and glamor to not see him for who he is; that’s certainly possible even for the two greats I mentioned. Everyone’s human. But it’s unlikely, I must admit, and thus further action simply gives me another reason to pause. I could not let this pass without saying all of this, out of fairness and love for the truth.

All I can say in Cruz’s defense is that I seriously doubt this activity was sanctioned by the Senator himself or anyone in his campaign. So to link him and his campaign with this is (at least somewhat) akin to linking Trump with unseemly behavior on the part of some of his supporters. It’s not much but it’s something too.

Do the bylaws allow Schlafly to unilaterally purge members from the board, as the article itself says was done?

It looks to me as if an EF mess, thanks to people not reading things terribly closely, is spilling over onto the FR forum.

The earlier article about a day ago tells how Phyllis removed the President and she and the board installed people including her daughter. Look at the names as they correspond to some in todays phone call that is claimed to be improper insurgents but are her board members she installed two days ago.

First article:
Eagle Forum Press Release

The Board of Eagle Forum, a 501(c)(4) corporation, held a Board meeting in accordance with and pursuant to the Eagle Forum By-Laws and Illinois State Law at 2 pm CDT on April 11, 2016.

Pursuant to the By-Laws, Eagle Forum First Vice President, Eunie Smith, presided over the meeting. Eagle Forum Founder, Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, the Chairman of the Board, was present during the entire meeting, including expressing herself on all seven votes. In Schlafly’s opening statement she said she has spent her life building Eagle Forum as a unique organization of volunteers. She also said that paid staff cannot order volunteers around. Mrs. Smith said, “The purpose of the meeting was to ensure that Eagle Forum will continue long into the future as a viable force for all the causes we have addressed in the past, for God, family and country.”

The Board of Eagle Forum voted to remove Mr. Ed Martin as President of the corporation; effective immediately. Mrs. Eunie Smith is serving as President until a new President is elected pursuant to the Eagle Forum By-Laws. Mrs. Smith appointed Eagle Forum Board Vice Chairman, Anne Schlafly Cori, daughter of Phyllis Schlafly, as Executive Director of Eagle Forum. Anne Schlafly Cori has worked with our state organizations and worked alongside Phyllis for some time.

Anne Schlafly Cori said, “I am honored and excited to be working with our wonderful state volunteer leaders from across the country. We are continuing the incredible legacy of our Founder Phyllis Schlafly.”

Dr. Shirley Curry was directed to lead a Search Committee for a new president of Eagle Forum.

END

Now her daughter Ann Cori is propertied to be part of this phone call like the VP Phyllis put in charge. This is not what it seems. Doesn’t anyone read these posts with a discerning eye or a spirit of inquiry anymore? Is it all just one big clown car demolition derby here now?

The path I outlined is not in any sense legal under the rules of a nonprofit. It is basically stating that I, the president, unilaterally accept the resignation you did not have the decency to tender. Don’t like it, take it to court. It’s extreme, but depending upon what was done, it can work and can be sustained in court.

[Phylis took it upon herself to endorse Trump without the consent of the rest of the members.]

Phyllis has EVERY RIGHT to endorse a candidate. She did not make this an official Eagle Forum endorsement. National and state leaders of organizations do this all the time.

Brookhaven to heshtesh
“She doe’s if it’s done in the name of the Eagle Forum!”
Phyllis Schlafly, for all practical purposes, IS the Eagle Forum. They are so tightly intertwined in the public’s mind, that anything she says is—even as a private citizen—is associated with the Eagle Forum.
But, what does that say about the importance (or unimportantce) of these other people to the Eagle Forum?

Her stated reason for endorsing Trump was logical and consistent with her past statements. She has long said there was a small group of “kingmakers” who chose the GOP nominee; that the will of the will of the rank and file Republicans did not matter. That’s why she endorsed Trump. She saw Trump as an opportunity to break that kingmaker-cabal.

Schlafly was ahead of the curve in recognizing the GOP establishment for what it was—decades ahead of the curve.

You tell me?

Not surprising. Cruz supporters are basically SJWs (social justice warriors) wearing a different mask.

Same tactics as the radical Left, however.

Unless you know the actual rules of the specific corporation, you don’t know what they can and can not do.

I have seen this play out to many times. It is how corporations die.

It is also possible that by attempting to remove members of the Board unilaterally (re-read the first portion of the article), she has exceeded her authority and created a mess. If she holds that some people are off the board, and other board members hold that they are still on the board, this creates a nightmare for arguing about whether sufficient members are present for various actions. Add in age and I would be very wary about getting too involved in this bunfight from the outside.

Meanwhile, at CRUZSTAPO HEADQUARTERS, Cruzers are holding an important meeting. They are collaborating with the GAYSTAPO in an attempt to find another way to stick it to Trump.

Birds of a feather flock together!
