I think you have it right, and everyone is wrongly crediting Cruz with being a genius. Those GOPe idiots in Colorado would have given it to anyone before Trump.

Voting for Cruz will not get you Cruz, it will get you Ryan.

And insulting, demonizing and denigrating Cruz supporters as most of the Trump folks do will get you.........hitlary. Man I thought the last cycle was contentious, but there is outright cannibalism going on now! Cruz and Trump supporters are throwing so much vitriol at each other that I can't believe that enough will come together at the end to defeat hitlary, and after it's all over we will refuse to put the blame where it belongs.

What’s the point of showing up in Colorado if you know the game is already rigged against you and you have no chance of winning? Might as well spend your time in New York where the citizens at least get to cast a vote.

Yep dumb Cruz voters....ha! Sorry no such thing. Well Ryan just put out a video showing how great congress is doing...ha! But the media is calling it very presidential. This country is cooked and Cruz is turning up the heat to its destruction.

If your as concerned as you state maybe you can get Trump to quit the race, after all it is for the country.

I expect Trump to come to CO.

I’ve already asked for the day off so I can attend.

For this next election the CO GOPe can’t stop us from voting.

Big difference in outcome.

"I believe Reince Priebus made that perfectly clear when he said THE PARTY chooses the nominee, and if you don’t like it, sit down."

Even amateur political students know that the party can do whatever it wants to do, can select whomever they wish...by any criteria they choose in the moment...to be at the head of the ticket.

And, that these primaries and caucii are solely for show.

And that a 3rd party run by Trump will send them all to their grave, especially if he asks his voters to vote AGAINST the Republicans in all down ticket races.

Surely those professionals know that, right?

Since he has suspended his campaign, they needed an insider to be a place holder for the delegates and that turns out to be Cruz, who will control those delegates until the Convention, then, after a few slight of hand tricks, they are slated to go back to Jeb, or maybe Mitt.

This makes no sense. Trump could just as easily been the place holder and then no one would be the wiser. They'll vote for Cruz.....

Trump couldn’t be the place holder......what are you thinking?

They have no control over trump.

It needed to be someone who is an insider, preferably Jeb, but since he and a bunch of others are out for the moment, they chose the only guy they (GOPe) can control. The guy who already has a Bush brother on the inside of his team.

Cruz.

And eventually the delegates won’t be voting Cruz, they’ll be voting Jeb or Mitt.

If they aren't going to vote for Cruz eventually... it just means they wouldn't have voted for Trump eventually. There is no need for a place holder if your theory is true.

They'll vote for Cruz...

They made those rules to steal from any usurpers and keep the insiders in.

They still need to strong arm the place holder.

Who can be strong armed?

Trump? Yeah, tell yourself that.

Cruz is a noodle.

He lost Colorado fair and square. Maybe some of those “best people” who he would have working for him shouldn’t have screwed up quite so badly and he would have received delegates.

Exactly. Cruz is the benefactor of a corrupt system. Jebbie & Teddy. Two peas in a pod. Hilarious to hear the Kruz Krew carefully leaving out the fact that CO was set up for an insider as they spin furiously.

The procedure used by Colorado was established and published before the primary season started. Neither Senator Cruz nor Mr. Trump had anything to do with setting up the procedure and neither had any way to change it.

Given the circumstances that existed, what do you think Senator Cruz should have done. Do you think he should have used his influence to make sure the delegates were assigned to Mr. Trump. Should he have just refused to participate. Should he have contacted Mr. Trump and given him a tutorial on delegate assignment. Should he offer to run Mr. Trump's campaign for him. I would be interested to know what you would have him do. Whatever that may be, would you also advocate the same action for Mr. Trump.

By now we all know that the rules for this convention will be written just prior to this convention. Here's yet another way they can (and will) screw Trump:

----- Change the rules to require 1499 delegates, not 1237 delegates. ----

Let's say Trump wins 1237 delegates. That makes him the "Presumptive Nominee." It doesn't make him the CERTAIN Nominee, which only happens after they vote at the convention....

After June 7, the #NeverTrump crowd will know how many delegates Cruz has earned (let's say 1000), and how many Trump delegates are actually Cruz-loyal Trojan Horses (let's say 500). That means they have 1500 Cruz-loyal delegates, and 500 of those are bound to vote for Trump on the first Nominee ballot.

It takes a majority (1237) to adopt or change the rules of the convention. However, these delegates are NOT required to vote on the rules in a way that is LOYAL to the candidate they are bound to. Therefore, the 500 Trump-bound delegates who are Cruz Trojan Horses can vote to change the 1237-rule to become a 1499-rule because they know Cruz has 1500 votes on the second ballot. So they take the first vote, and it goes 1237 Trump, 1000 Cruz, etc... Trump doesn't make the 1499 threshold, so they go to a second ballot. On the second ballot, the vote becomes 1500 Cruz, 737 Trump, and Cruz becomes the nominee.
