The messy way Colorado is picking its GOP delegates may actually matter this year
The Washington Post ^ | April 6, 2016 | Ed O'Keefe

Colorado is one of six states or territories — including American Samoa, Guam, North Dakota, Wyoming and the Virgin Islands — that opted not to hold Republican presidential caucuses or a primary decided by voters. Instead, the state’s Republicans are meeting this weekend to finalize a slate of 37 delegates to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July.

The process is not simple, however. On Saturday, thousands will pack an arena in Colorado Springs as more than 600 candidates speak for 20 seconds each in an effort to be delegates. Cruz is also slated to speak, along with a representative for the third GOP presidential candidate, Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

“It’s going to be messy,” said George Leing, who is already guaranteed a delegate spot as a state committeeman for the Republican National Committee. “It’s not the prettiest thing, but so far it’s working.”

I’m no genius, but it still seems very likely that trump will get to 1237, especially with that new guy in charge of scrounging up delegates.

Keeping up his tussle with Trump over values, Cruz told the Colorado crowd earlier that it’s easy to talk about making America great again — “you can even print that on a baseball cap” — but that the more important question is which candidate understands “the principles and values that made America great in the first place.”

No doubt it will matter on some level, to some people.

“the principles and values that made America great in the first place.”

Does that mean getting in bed with an wildly fornicating and fluffing every establishment elitist he can get close to?

Wow he makes me sick.

Cruz is now fully exposed as an Establishment Insider. He is not the SOLUTION, he is the PROBLEM Trump is trying to solve!— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 9, 2016

Have you ever noticed how Cruz seems to do disproportionately well in states and territories where the party hacks pick the delegates or where small-volume caucuses take place that are easy to game by the GOP-Ers, while Trump seems to do better in places where voters actually vote?

Well, I'm impressed. Four years ago we (Colorado) were mentioned on the national news only as an irrelevant side show. Today we're the star of a national corruption scandal. What changed?

Four years ago when it was corrupted by the Ron Paul people, it was colorful and amusing. Today it's being corrupted by the GOPe/Cruz. Not colorful and amusing.

Cruz is doing well where people have to debate with each over who to pick. In other words he is the champion of rational discussion. The GOPe candidate is clearly Kasich now that its other designated losers , Bush and Rubio, have already lost.

Of course it’s “messy”. The GOP in my home state is one huge pile of steaming mess.

Also, Cruz does well in closed primaries where Pubs pick the Pub nominee. Trump has done very well in states where Rats can crossover.

Then care about this;

Colorado GOP elites are #nevertrump
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3419332/posts

#nevertrump is more than a simple political statment - it’s a mission statement. And it was executed by the Colorado GOP as a mission statement. That is not we-the people.

Trump and his supporters have to take the elevator up to even reach the gutter - beandog's tagline

This seems to be all Cruz and his supporters can muster up, ad hominine attacks. His supporters and this man make for a rather sleazy bunch, who will resort to any tactic they think will garner support for the anointed one. Of course if he really were the anointed one none of this would be necessary. They are no better than the sleaze bags that try to deny Trump and Americans from freedom of speech and free assembly. How constitutional of them, and we are supposed to throw our support behind this sleaze of a man. That will never happen.

I noticed that trend too. I think it is a bunch of horse honky. Of course cruz supporters will say bullcrap like that was the rules he signed up for and so on. These delegates have their orders from headquarters and has nothing to do with cruz’s so called ground game.
