I’m no genius, but it still seems very likely that trump will get to 1237, especially with that new guy in charge of scrounging up delegates.

Keeping up his tussle with Trump over values, Cruz told the Colorado crowd earlier that it’s easy to talk about making America great again — “you can even print that on a baseball cap” — but that the more important question is which candidate understands “the principles and values that made America great in the first place.”

No doubt it will matter on some level, to some people.

Have you ever noticed how Cruz seems to do disproportionately well in states and territories where the party hacks pick the delegates or where small-volume caucuses take place that are easy to game by the GOP-Ers, while Trump seems to do better in places where voters actually vote?

Well, I'm impressed. Four years ago we (Colorado) were mentioned on the national news only as an irrelevant side show. Today we're the star of a national corruption scandal. What changed?

Four years ago when it was corrupted by the Ron Paul people, it was colorful and amusing. Today it's being corrupted by the GOPe/Cruz. Not colorful and amusing.

Of course it’s “messy”. The GOP in my home state is one huge pile of steaming mess.

For years I worked within the in NM party apparatus for various candidates. Finally, my primary efforts actually matter, let alone my vote.

With that opportunity I plan to use the rules to support the candidate that most closely matches what I want - not the establishment. And I hope that a liberal doesn’t fake us out again. Ted Cruz is a real conservative who can win the argument against whichever socialist the libtards settle on.

Before this year, I had never noticed the second primary after the primary where the people are asked what they want. My assumption - wrongly - was that the party had a straightforward (but anachronistic) mechanism to carry the people’s will to the convention.

This look under the hood, especially in states where they don’t even poll the people, has me more than disillusioned.

I am disgusted.

I am at a crossroads, and I must decide how much Machiavelli I can stomach. At the moment, I’m not sure I can swallow much more from the GOPe powers that be.

“It’s not the prettiest thing, but so far it’s working.”

He is happy because he is able to get his Cruz delegates in place. Screz the GOPe.
