Republican presidential candidate John Kasich said he thinks he has a good chance at a contested convention this summer.
"I believe that a convention will look at somebody like me, and thats why I think Im going to be the nominee," the Ohio governor said on ABC's "This Week" on Sunday.
Kasich said he expects to continue gaining momentum and picking up delegates until the convention. Kasich then touted his poll numbers in head-to-head match-ups against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, saying he beats Clinton in "virtually every poll."
"I'm the only one that does it on the Republican side," he said.
He also talked about his record on job growth, adding he has international foreign policy knowledge and the experience to be a competitive candidate.
"We just have to keep going, and were going to have an open convention," Kasich said.
"Its going to be so much fun. Kids will spend less time focusing on Bieber and Kardashian and more time focusing on how we elect presidents. It will be so cool."
Kasich said he thinks convention delegates will start to "feel the real weight" in choosing who the Republican nominee will be.

GOPee to shoot self in both feet.
K-Sick is an unelectable Lib.
Self-delusion is dangerous
“I believe that a convention will look at somebody like me, and thats why I think Im going to be the nominee,” the Ohio governor said...
What a fool...that would be the WORST outcome possible for the R-party, and insure a Hillary victory. In 2008 & 2012, I held my nose and voted for McCain and Romney, but who the hell would vote for this dope?
I can’t win in front of the people, but give me some time to leverage my old Washington buddies in a smokey hack room, in Cleveland, OH (ahem, my state) and I can work some magic...
The elites do not care.
They don't care about the party, the nation, or us.
They care about their own wallets. They have become very wealthy from insider trading, polling, consulting, and lobbying. The power and money trough is what they worship.
Hey, John, what are you saying? "Let 'em eat cake"? He oughta' read history books. Folks don't behave when they lose their rights and they lose hope for their future. And K'Sick thinks it'll be FUN if folks express their anger in Cleveland?
Only a libtard could take such pleasure from the destruction of the GOP.
May Almighty God strike them and everyone involved with this disgusting disgrace in His wrath and may the millions upon millions of American citizens rise up in righteous indignation against these wicked men and do everything within our power to destroy their political careers and power. Would to God, "tar and feathering" and "riding them out of town on a rail" were still in vogue.
Mark my word; if they "make good" on their plotting and scheming to steal/rig this election all H_ _ _ is going to break out and a revolt will take place the likes of which America has never seen.
A man this delusional has no business being anywhere near the Oval Office.
He’s a bafoon.
To quote Mel from SERINITY: “I aim to misbehave!”
This reminded me of Bush when he said: Ive abandoned free-market principles to save the free market system
Except if you replace the word “free-market” with “democratic” you get the following concept: We must abandon democratic principles to save the democratic principles. That is the GOPe motto.
He is the epitome of elitist lying GOP. Never had a real job not in politics, he ‘played’ a conservative his 18 years in Congress, and now he is ‘playing’ again. Disgusting.
For Ohio to have put this man in office for over 2 decades tells you a lot about the state.
Sweet! “Great minds think alike.” Thanks for the pic, just saved it.
“Fun?” The man is an arsonist.
Only if the RNC provides each delegate with a swag bag containing a firearm and several bottles of bourbon.
