New Gingrich, who I highly respect, has told the GOP elite (both publicly and in private) that if they steal the nomination from the front runner, Hillary will be elected and the party is dead.

The elites do not care.

They don't care about the party, the nation, or us.

They care about their own wallets. They have become very wealthy from insider trading, polling, consulting, and lobbying. The power and money trough is what they worship.

This reminded me of Bush when he said: “I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free market system”

Except if you replace the word “free-market” with “democratic” you get the following concept: We must abandon democratic principles to save the democratic principles. That is the GOPe motto.
