Donald Trump wins this week's GOP Straw Poll in Delaware.
This week the Sussex County Republican Party held its Presidential Primary "straw poll" at the GOP Headquarters in Georgetown. While the turn-out was moderate, the results were very interesting.
Donald Trump won the poll with 72-percent of the vote; coming in second was Ted Cruz with 21- percent of the vote, followed by John Kasich with 7-percent.
The format and names on the Straw Poll ballots duplicated that of the sample ballot provided by the State Election Office in Georgetown. They included the names of Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, and Marco Rubio, but no one voted for those candidates.
County GOP Chairman Billy Carroll says he's very pleased by the enthusiasm and interest shown by the voters; he says Republicans are eager for the primary on April 26 and are ready to support the GOP candidate in November.
Ron Paul won just about every straw poll in 2012.
No need for straw polls now. Donald J. Trump won every SEC state outside of Texas in 2016.
Ping!

“One of the bluest states supports the NE Liberal. Shocking.”
Your NE liberal won the South.
Lying Donald will say anything to get elected.
The dissenting group must be 100% women... I heard they hate trump! Why does DE only have 28% women???
The NY values remark by Cruz dooms him in the Northeast.
Not my NE Liberal. Not yet anyway.
At least we’ve correctly defined him.
Yeah that Cruzmobile is just gonna roll over everyone on the east coast.
16 delegates, winner take all, Trump wins them, Cruz makes sure that all the delegates are secretly on HIS team...
And his phony piety and GOPe voting record doomed him in the South
Yep. Trump will rock the Northeast.
And he might still pull out Wisconsin. Let’s see what he has up his sleeve.
Why did Donald repeat the "total fabrication" even after he knew it was a lie?
The only state in the Northeast that may be close on the Super Tuesday Northeast Primary on April 26 is Maryland. And only because of the GOP-e RINOs that live in the DC area.
CT is an extension of NY. RI is an extension of MA. Both will heavily favor Trump.
This straw poll confirms what I thought all along about DE Republicans.
PA to me on that date is mostly a meaningless beauty contest as most of the delegates are unbound, but if you look at the OH counties that favored Trump the most, they lined the PA border. Eastern PA is an extension of NY.
DE is the only WTA all that day. RI practically is, as it apportions by CD, but has only two CDs.
50% is the magic number in CT. If a candidate breaks that, it’s WTA. Otherwise, it’s WTA by CD with the statewide delegation broken down proportionally.
MD is WTA by CD, and WTA statewide.
PA is WTA for the state delegation (17 delegates) with direct election of delegates (3 per the 18 CDs for 54 total). Those delegates are unbound. Unlike IL, there is nothing on the ballot linking them to their candidate of choice for “soft” delegate support. (Although in IL the delegates were bound).
Yeah, but Cruz would have won those, if Cruz was the only one running.
Maybe. LOL! :)
Of course, if Cruz lost while he was the only one running, he could just steal the delegates back. It's "the rules", dontchaknow...
Poor drew,poor poor drew.
Drew is doing just fine. Thank you.
I am NOT selling...anything... I already knew what Coburn had said about Cruz before Trump ever said 'boo' about Coburn... Hey, I do not like Coburn any more than I like Cruz... Trump had campaigned in OK I have NO clue where Trump got his information... BUT it is the Cruz mentality to pervert things that simply do have rational explanations.
Personally I was very surprised that Coburn would ever support Trump... But I also knew before Trump ever announced his candidacy.. that Coburn did not like Cruz. Obviously, Trump gave Coburn more credit than he deserves.
But carry on your misleading and deceptive postings. It is the Cruz way.
