My guess is the 5-mistresses story was known by the Cruz camp to be looming for weeks, and they were ready with the "faked similar stories" to deflect the real story.

The Cruz staffers may have even known WHEN "theThing" was coming, hence that could be why Jeff Roe (Cruz's "bare-knuckle" campaign manager) bought and used the GQ photo of Melania Trump when he did it.

Right now the only legitimate story I know of is the Enquirer.
I do find it interesting that Still comes out immediately and recents and repents in a video, but Cruz is still running with the story that Trump was behind the Enquirer piece.
Do you know how the law works? The Hiedi picture was posted by an Anti-Trump SuperPAC, not a pro-Cruz one. On top of that, it is illegal for a campaign to coordinate with a SuperPAC.
Cruz had nothing to do with the Heidi ad. Nothing.
Hell, it wasn’t like it was a picture taken through a bathroom peephole or something either, it was literally a public picture in a published magazine.
