Why it’s time for a Trump revolution
NY Post ^ | March 19, 2016 | Michael Goodwin

My friends are worried about me. They insist something is not right and suggest prayer, counseling, even rehab. “Take a break,” they urge. “Get away for a few days and clear your head.”

They are wise and kind, and it would be foolish to dismiss their concerns. Truth be told, there are moments when I doubt myself. Am I making a huge mistake? Am I losing my mind?

Perhaps I am. My friends say that’s the only possible explanation for the fact that I might support Donald Trump for president.

The insanity defense is all that’s left now that the smart set has declared that it’s immoral and indecent to even think about voting for Trump. OK, call me immoral and indecent as well as crazy, because I’m thinking about it.

It’s been a long road to get here. When Trump’s name first popped up, I joked about moving to Canada. When he launched his campaign, I cursed him, certain he was going to create a circus just when Republicans finally had a strong field of candidates.

“He says what We The People think, but haven’t had a voice — Until now.”

There’s a reason we don’t have a voice and it’s really quite simple. Even though we elect many who tell us what we want to hear during election time, once they’re elected they mysteriously forget what they promised.

What is the cause of this recurring phenomenon and what can be done about it?

Here’s a more detailed description of the problem and the rather simple solution.

The very first step is getting back to what the Founding Fathers intended by repealing the 17th Amendment so State Legislatures can replace their Senator(s) when they get out of line or are weak in the knees. Then the risk/reward calculation for Senators favored siding with the people who sent them to DC rather than favoring the power brokers in DC.

Follow that by repealing the 16th Amendment and the balance of power in the war against Globalism swings dramatically toward We The People and away from We The Fedz.

I agree that both those steps would be wonderful, but I don’t think either will happen if we the people don’t first reclaim our sovereignty over our employees, the politicians and bureaucrats.

I hope Cruz supporters right here go through the same thought process.

I am a supporter of Senator Cruz and here is my thought process:

I strongly agree with Mark Steyn when he stated “that the prevailing political realities of the United States do not allow for any meaningful course correction.”

I believe that the only hope for the country at this time is strict reliance upon the original intent of the US Constitution. My examination of the candidates reveals to me that Sen. Cruz is perhaps the only one that even understands that we have a constitution. I also understand that many "conservatives" do not like some aspects of the Constitution and pick and choose what they support about about it.

Should Sen. Cruz not win the popular vote for the nomination and it goes to Mr. Trump my thoughts proceed as a flowchart to the next decision which is; Populism or Progressivism tainted with criminality. At that point I will go to my polling place and cast my vote for Mr. Trump.

However I do see the potential for a severe miscalculation on the part of the GOPe. Should Mr. Trump win the nomination fair and square and be denied it by the machinations of those who consider themselves elite I will support Mr. Trump should he attempt a third part bid.

If that happens and he does not, then I will march to my polling place and cast my vote for whomever the Democrats may nominate; Clinton, Sanders, Biden or a party to be named later.

My conscience is clear on this point for two reasons; as stated above a GOPe candidate “not allow for any meaningful course correction.” And I live in California and the GOPe candidate will lose here regardless.

You are wrong about your polls, recent polls have Trump up 14 points in FAVORABLE category, you are spewing OLD talking points!!!

Any luck finding that poll yet? The one that shows his favorables have increased with the general public by 14 points(not primary election voters)?

Didn’t think so...lol.Because it doesn’t exist. Maybe next time you accuse someone of spewing talking points, you should have the proof on hand..okay;)

As of this moment, we Trump supporters are still on the defensive, having to prove we’re not crazy, stupid, or mean spirited. I think very soon you anti Trump voices will be the ones on the defensive. Your lines are getting repetitive, and the talking heads pushing them are sounding more and more out of touch.

People like George Will are becoming unlistenable (if that’s a word). I have to use the mute button when he speaks.

The reason these people are losing credibility is that they all make the same mistake: they are trying to get inside the heads of Trump supporters, asking rhetorically and condescendingly: What is his appeal? Why do people vote for him? But it’s obvious they are really asking: What is wrong wht these people? Are they stupid, are they angry? And they always get it wrong. They are sure we are blinded by something so they debate about what we are blinded by.

The problem for these pundits is that the real Trump supporters are listening to what is being said about them and they know it’s total horse sh!t. The only people that think they are smart is the pundits themselves and followers who can’t think for themselves.

It’s getting old being a supporter of Trump listening to other people talk trash about Trump supporters, and not saying a single thing that’s true.

Soon we will tire if your pontificatiobs and bad guesswork, and stop listening altogether.

Go Trump!

Prayers are very helpful and are needed, but also realize, Donald does have a LOT of security as well, but yes prayers are very, very important.

If Trump’s negatives are bad, why do so many people come to his rallies? Even Senator Cruz’s rallies are not as well turned out as Trump’s.

Yup;)

Actually, I get the Trump appeal. And I liked the fact at first he was saying what alot of people were thinking. And the GOPe brought this on to themselves. And I liked the fact he didn’t let political correctness hold him back.

But after the emotion of anger subsides, issues matter. Trump’s many past positions and statements are all over the place and at the very least, makes him a Republican of the type many of us conservatives oppose. Cruz is not perfect to be sure. The difference is those of us who are Cruzers don’t mold him into our perfect candidate like the Trumpers do

I actually believe those of us who oppose Trump will be the ones saying we told you so. I hope I’m wrong but I have a hunch I won’t be.

I don’t think Trump supporters are stupid. It was Trump himself who said he likes poorly educated people

Civics education must have deteriorated since I was in school.
Again, there is a difference between the primary election season and the general election.

The fact is,as far as the general electorate goes, Trump is viewed highly negatively according to polls. And he loses to Hillary in practically every one Are you saying the polls are all wrong? I can tell you that inside the Trump campaign, they believe them

And sadly, Cruz hurt his chances in a number of ways. Plus also people can and do lie to those who do polls.

All these protests could very well help Trump out:

I agree. And they could not only assist in helping Trump but other GOP candidates for office running in 2016.

As upset as people are with the direction of this country, I don't believe that a majority want BLM, Occupy WallStreet, La Raza, Muslim grievance groups in charge of the country

You’ve put forth a great argument. And there is no point where I can argue.

The problem I have with Cruz is the same problem I have with the majority of the Tea Party candidates that have been elected. They made lots of promises but did nothing.

I know Cruz attempted to keep his promises. But I also know that now he owes the gopE big time. And, to me, that puts him in the same category as every other politician that owes the puppet masters.

That’s why I hope Trump goes to Cleveland with enough delegates to win it on the first ballot. Like you, if the elites take it away from him I’m gone forever and will vote against every republican until the gop no longer exists. I will do the same thing if Trump has the most delegates and they put some joke like Romney in.

Actually, it was Trump himself said he loves uneducated people”.

Perfect. Another spoon fed cut and pasted sound bite presented out of context. Nice try, I heard the whole speech. He said he loves highly educated people, he loves not so highly educated people. He said the same about wealthy and not so wealthy, smart and not so smart. Rtc., etc.

Those who heard the whole speech and are honest know what he was saying and it was a nice message.

Whatever happens with Trump, I don’t see the point in hanging onto the Cruz thing at this point, but if you choose to, why is all the focus on what’s wrong with Trump? Just support Cruz and say what’s you’d about him.

If we had not had those negative rates, we would be in a much worse place today,

All noticed that whenever Trump says something dumb, it’s always “taken out of context?” lol
