I hope Cruz supporters right here go through the same thought process.

I am a supporter of Senator Cruz and here is my thought process:

I strongly agree with Mark Steyn when he stated “that the prevailing political realities of the United States do not allow for any meaningful course correction.”

I believe that the only hope for the country at this time is strict reliance upon the original intent of the US Constitution. My examination of the candidates reveals to me that Sen. Cruz is perhaps the only one that even understands that we have a constitution. I also understand that many "conservatives" do not like some aspects of the Constitution and pick and choose what they support about about it.

Should Sen. Cruz not win the popular vote for the nomination and it goes to Mr. Trump my thoughts proceed as a flowchart to the next decision which is; Populism or Progressivism tainted with criminality. At that point I will go to my polling place and cast my vote for Mr. Trump.

However I do see the potential for a severe miscalculation on the part of the GOPe. Should Mr. Trump win the nomination fair and square and be denied it by the machinations of those who consider themselves elite I will support Mr. Trump should he attempt a third part bid.

If that happens and he does not, then I will march to my polling place and cast my vote for whomever the Democrats may nominate; Clinton, Sanders, Biden or a party to be named later.

My conscience is clear on this point for two reasons; as stated above a GOPe candidate “not allow for any meaningful course correction.” And I live in California and the GOPe candidate will lose here regardless.

You’ve put forth a great argument. And there is no point where I can argue.

The problem I have with Cruz is the same problem I have with the majority of the Tea Party candidates that have been elected. They made lots of promises but did nothing.

I know Cruz attempted to keep his promises. But I also know that now he owes the gopE big time. And, to me, that puts him in the same category as every other politician that owes the puppet masters.

That’s why I hope Trump goes to Cleveland with enough delegates to win it on the first ballot. Like you, if the elites take it away from him I’m gone forever and will vote against every republican until the gop no longer exists. I will do the same thing if Trump has the most delegates and they put some joke like Romney in.
