Translated from the original airing last night -- Japan time -- on NHK-TV, the large major Japanese state television network, for discussion and consideration.
Translators note: Wei Jingsheng, exiled dissident, is the recipient of the following: Sakharov Prize, National Endowment for Democracy, Olof Palme Prize, and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award
In addition, from the Chinese-language source RFI in France, I have noted their coverage as well and they mention the growing number of exiled Chinese dissidents, some Tienanmen Square Massacre survivors and former student activist leaders from the USA to Germany, signing on to a letter of protest to Donald Trump. I have bold faced their names below (in Chinese from the original report):
"旅美著名中国民运和维权人士魏京生、杨建利、周锋锁、封从德、方政、韩连潮、葛洵 等也发表声明或者讲话,谴责特朗普的言论。魏京生在声明中指出:特朗普对中国89民运和六四屠杀的态度,是大多数中国人民所不能接受的,也是世界各国有良心的人们所不能接受的,是对反抗中国共产党暴政的人们的侮辱

My wife - who was standing there in the square during the massacre - sides with Trump and plans to vote for him.
There is no foreign nation more concerned about a Trump presidency than China for obvious reasons, and this is a very transparent attemp to show this.
You might know plenty about Japan, but you know squat about China. Stop doing the PLA’s bidding, ex pat.

The Party had to do something, those kids were way out of line.
They had to show some strength.

Everyone is butt-hurt and demands an apology.
Very odd.

A very far left party called the Party for Socialism and Liberation broke of from a fellow party (WWP) because they were not militant enough. The WWP agreed that the Chinese government was OK to crack down on the Democracy demonstrators in Tienanmen Square. Official death toll is between 200 and 300. Others believe it was thousands.

Trump should apologize or “clarify” his statement.

In addition to personal vignettes which are somewhat irrelevant as they cannot be proven nor disproven in this forum, and your adhominem against me showing some kind of hostility when I just presented an article accurately translated, can hou tell me: what specific points in the article do you take issue with in what he stated in the debate (or how it has been received by dissidents and survivors) and how foreign press is reporting? PS Thanks for the comment about my knowledge of China which goes back many years, I do appreciate it. 感谢您的想法!! :-)

Trump said that he did not support the governments action but stated that a strong government was able to put down the riot (sic) with strength. That shows you the power of strength. The "power of strength" has been established for millennia.

My knowledge goes back a long ways too - and I live with it daily - in fact she’s in China right now visiting family. There isn’t a day that goes by in my house where there is not a discussion of current events there politically.
Dissidents living abroad are routinely visited by elements of the regime - and you must know that. That is what drew my ire.

I think reasonable men without an agenda can get on with their day without whining about what Trump said.
This is manufactured crap propaganda by interests who stand to to lose from a Trump presidency or who stand to gain by raising a PC technicality and therefore 2 seconds of fame.
Your post might have been better received had you noted "Hey! Look at this crap!", but you didn't, so my interpretation is you posted it with an agenda rather than some benign intention to note world affairs to the forum.
The real problem for you is that every time you do it you strengthen Trump so I don't know whether to encourage you to keep it up or ask you to stop because propaganda makes me sick. In either case, evidently finally America is beginning to recognize PC BS when it sees it, and now, increasingly when it sees it it says 'oh, Trump was right, it's everywhere. Maybe even though I wouldn't ask him to dinner I'll vote for him.'
So, yeah, I guess - keep it up.
