Why are so many Pennsylvania Democrats fleeing to the Republican Party?
PennLive reports that nearly 46,000 Keystone Dems have flipped their registration to the GOP since the beginning of 2016 a phenomenon writer Colin Deppen attributes largely to enthusiasm for the candidacy of Donald Trump.
"With the increase in support in exit polls for Trump among working class, blue-collar Democrats, it is my belief that these are people who fall into that genre," Terry Madonna, director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, told Deppen.
Other possibilities: That disaffected Democrats have left, repelled by the party's liberalism. Or that Democrats who have long voted Republican and are just now getting around to making the switch.
Let's offer a fourth possible reason: The Obama Era is over. And a lot of the "Democrats" switching to the GOP might've been Republicans before Obama arrived on the scene.

nobody wants to back a loser. Americans love a winner.
Un-engaged Mo Rons..
oh my, SARC!!!
Duh.
Who do you think is filling up the rallies?
Not the GOPe voters, that’s for sure.
Maybe it’s the electric energy that surrounds Kacich? Or the gravitas of Rubio? Or just everyone else is falling in love with Ted Cruz as much as his Senate colleagues adore him? Yeah, I’m sure it’s a combination of those and has NOTHING to do with that “boring” Donald Trump. LOL
WE THE PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE. THE SILENT MAJORITY IS SILENT NO MORE. WE ARE MAD AS H*LL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE.
DONALD IS OUR VOICE. DON'T LET HIM DOWN!

My parents are in PA and still have a ton of family there. PA is an odd state. It should be tailor made for the GOP. It is 86% white which is a huge percentage in 2016. This compared to 77% of the country. People there are old line democrats however and then Philly and Pittsburgh are overwhelmingly democratic. However, the state is culturally conservative, large gun/hunting population and is essentially Kentucky between the big cities. Trump’s message should play very well there. A large segment of workers have been displaced by the loss of manufacturing and the general malaise of the economy. Wimps like Mitt and to some extent McCain and George W. do not play well there. If any state is made to draw Deomcrats and Independents to Trump, it is PA.
The silent majority will be silent no more and will POST IN ALL CAPS AND EXTRA EXCLAMATION POINTS UNTIL DONALD TRUMP IS ELECTED!!

Republicans that switched to Obama? That sounds about right. They’re still in the gop and some of them are running things now.
YOU’RE RIGHT, SWEETIE.
That's a very good point!
Nope. Operation chaos. Rush invented it. The Dems understand that Trump has the highest hate rating and she will beat him handily.
“When you put your hand into a bunch of GOO that use to be your buddy’s face . . .
well, then you’ll know what to do.”
Maybe not for the reason you think.
