First on CNN: Donald Trump plans fundraising blitz if he wins GOP nomination, source says
CNN ^ | Updated 4:07 PM ET, Thu March 3, 2016 | Sara Murray

Trump and his staff have told some individuals -- including potential donors -- that as soon as the billionaire businessman secures the nomination, he will pivot and begin fundraising for a general election fight, the source said.

In the event that he wins, Trump will have to quickly scale up his campaign -- particularly if he's competing nationwide against Hillary Clinton's behemoth political organization. In private conversations, Trump and his aides have acknowledged that the Republican Party will need to be well-funded for the general election, and that Trump will work with the party to ensure that's the case.

I thought Trump said he was self-funding, and proud of it, and that this is what sets him apart from those “owned” politicians. Does this mean Trump the politician is ready to be purchased?

Think about it, they have already unloaded on Cruz. There is nothing more that they can dig up, because there is nothing more to shove a shovel into, unless of course they want to expose his grades in college or his senior thesis. Things that Trump will not allow anyone to see.

The media has loads on Trump that they have been saving up just for the after nomination.

NBC has a BBC expose they are holding until the right time. They bought it from the BBC. They have already shown it in Great Britain and I have a friend in London who has seen it. He told me that we are nuts if we make him president.

It will be a feeding frenzy and the media knows that they will really clean up on the ratings.

I am delightfully breathing in the air of clear thinking, with no regrets.

But... but... he’s “self-funded.” “Nobody owns him.” One by one, the delusional arguments of the Trump supporters collapse, but they never scratch that nagging little cognitive dissonance itch...

DT has 0 character. Has bought pols all his career. Changes positions as wind blows. Hired illegals, Visa workers. He’s always been that way.
Cruz has always been the reverse.DT has 0 character. Has bought pols all his career. Changes positions as wind blows. Hired illegals, Visa workers. He’s always been that way.
Cruz has always been the reverse. Untouchable, stalwart, courageous.

No Trumpeteer is listening. They don’t care what his views are. They change with the wind and a lot of Freepers don’t care.
It’s a shame it’s come down to name calling. But I have a memory like an elephant. When they start screaming and stop making excuses for Trump’s bad behavior. I’ll be watching.

In my best Breitbart voice... SO?

He has self-funded through the primaries, however, if he becomes the nominee, the RNC is obligated to support the candidate with party dollars and he should be able to fundraise at that point. This is a pathetic attempt. Would any other candidate not accept RNC funds?

It’s the whole reason they moved up the date of the convention! For Pete’s sake.

I don’t think so. There is a single quote from Trump in the entire article. There is no quote from anyone in Trump’s campaign.

All we are told is that CNN wrote that entire article based on a “source”.

They also seem really peeved in that article that Trump has spent so much less than everyone else.

Imagine having a businessman President who runs the country by adhering to the bottom line, and who has personally signed the front of checks, not the backs.

Well, Ted’s wife may have a say in what is given to Trump...

Heidi Cruz is (or was, at least, before she went on leave for the campaign) one of around 4,000 managing directors at Goldman Sachs. She's not even a partner there, much less involved in the firm's management committee.

What makes you think she has any say in where the firm (or any of its employees) donate their money?

Of course. Idiotic to think he can run against the Unions, the leftist media attack pack the Clinton machine and the GOPE establishment in the GENERAL Election all by himself.

No, as opposed to Cruz, who has said all along that he was fundraising for his campaign.

Trump is the one who described fundraising as being bought. And now, he's singing (or getting ready to sing) a different tune.
