Trump-Effect: Fox News Channel's Brand Takes 50% Hit Among Republicans
Breitbart.com ^ | 27 Feb 2016 | JOHN NOLTE

Posted on 02/27/2016 10:13:22 AM PST by VitacoreVision

Just last week, a years-long tradition came to a screeching halt. "You want me to put it on Fox News," I asked my wife. "No," she replied. "I'm done with Fox News."

My job is to monitor the mainstream media, which is something that eats up about 14 hours of a day that begins at 6 a.m. when the cable morning shows begin. Lying next to me, my good sport of a wife suffers through about an hour of "Morning Joe," whatever they call that left-wing garbage fire on CNN, and the rest. Out of habit, before I head to my desk, without really asking I always ask, "You want me to put it on Fox?"

Fox News has a problem, and not just with my wife. According to a YouGov Brand Index survey, the perception of Fox News among Republicans has hit a three-year low, "has declined by approximately 50% since January of this year."

Basically, perception of Fox News has returned to those bad old Dick Morris days after President Obama won re-election. Much of the fall has come in the last few months. There is no question that this precipitous drop is the result of Fox's ongoing war with Donald Trump.

This might be a good time to tell you that my wife is not a Trump supporter. Her frustrations and disappointment in Fox News have nothing to do with her personal political preference. Like many, it is something much larger than that.

Folks, if you're reading this, you know what needs to happen.
It doesn't take a big contribution. Pick your comfort level and
please join others to help put the FReepathon to rest. Thank you.

The above note was first presented to you on 02/25 at around 11:00.
The goal shortfall at that time is depicted to you on the left.
The graphic on the right reveals our status as of 02/26 22:30.
We can finish this by Sunday night. Let's do it.

Let's give Jim, his crew, and us a full month to rest up.

Jim, his crew, and every other FReeper thanks you.

It’s not just the Trump effect. Cruz supporters are livid about Fox’s mistreatment and ignoring of Ted Cruz too. I don’t watch Fox anymore because of it.

Fox news has been part of The Ministry Of Propaganda for quite some time.
They hid their agenda more successfully than most.
Unfortunately for them, we have figured out that they work for The Cheap Labor Express and have been trying to manipulate us into giving up our country without a fight.

Had these jerks on this a.m. and now watching golf.

FOX was constant “how do you stop the frontrunner”. It’s unbelievable. And they had long faces - trying to boost the frat boy Rubio or the Canadian. Ridiculous. I barely watch them anymore and I turned off Levin who I used to listen to everyday.

My mother isn’t watching FOX because she says they have too much Donald Trump. I quit during the 2012 election.

Fox has given Trump yuuuuge amounts of air time, while shorting the other candidates. It looks like they’re in the tank for The Don.

Once Bloody Megan reverted to her college-days FEMINIST look, that was it for me.

15 years ago, I paid for a cable upgrade so I could get Fox. Now I’m willing to pay for an upgrade if it would get Fox off the air.

I guess what Fox fails to comprehend is that conservatives don’t change with the times . . . what was true yesterday is still true today - so if Fox is going to change with the times and allow their Saudi Arabian handlers to direct their views - conservatives will leave.

But then, Fox is pretty much a 24-hour variety show.

Fox’s ratings are still through the roof

Didn't see that coming.

I bet Glenn Beck's aren't though.

Definitely, the media arm of the Chamber of Commerce. They will sell Americans out just as easily as will Democrats, they will just get more for them, and through various tax dodges, keep more.

“Fox has given Trump yuuuuge amounts of air time, while shorting the other candidates. It looks like they’re in the tank for The Don.”

You know, they have to follow laws about this. If they give X minutes one evening to one candidate, they have to offer exactly X minutes to all of the others. The penalties to do otherwise are very severe and you can bet your a$$ that this is being monitored closely and will be audited by several agencies.

Trump just happens to always be available.

OTOH, keep in mind that Fox also offers that time to Hillary and Bernie. Bernie at least had the guts to show up, and was treated fairly and gave a good accounting of himself. Hillary, OTOH: 0.0. According to Fox, her flying monkeys don’t even respond or return calls anymore.

All networks give him air time, because he will come on any of the 3 cable networks, FOX, CNN and MSNBC. And when he comes, they get ratings, which translates into more advertising revenues, which is smart business by all 3 networks.

However, what is happening is that more and more Republicans are supporting Trump and the political analyst on all those shows, all 3 of them, have Republican establishment advisors and campaign managers from prior Republican candidates and they are for the most part, anti-Trump. Think about it. Karl Rove and Stephen Hayes on Fox, Kevin Madden, Novarro and Campbell on CNN.

On MSNBC, the main guy there is former head of the RNC Steele, the Lt. Gov. of Maryland and he is basically told the RNC establishment to not tinker with the primary process. He has in fact been the most objective of the former RNC establishment operatives who now work for either FOX, CNN or MSNBC.
