mmediately after Saturday night's Republican debate, CBS News interviewed a nationally representative sample of debate watchers assembled by GfK's Knowledge Panel who identified themselves as Republicans or independents.
Thirty-two percent of these debate watchers say Marco Rubio won the debate, beating out Donald Trump (24 percent) and John Kasich (19 percent), who are ranked second and third, respectively. Further down on the list are Ted Cruz (12 percent), Ben Carson (8 percent), and Jeb Bush (5 percent).
The gloves come off in the CBS News Republican debate Republican debate: Donald Trump promises to cut use of profanity
Marco Rubio is the clear favorite among Republicans, while independents are largely divided between Trump, Kasich, and Rubio.
Donald Trump has been leading national polls for months, and he is seen by Republican and independent debate watchers as the most likely -- with 42 percent -- of the six candidates to win in November should he get the nomination. But Marco Rubio comes in second (22 percent), beating out Ted Cruz (14 percent) by eight points.

Oddly, I thought John K. did well. I think the question that should be asked in these multi person debates is who lost. My thought was Trump lost but his supporters don’t seem to care.
The Democrats won!
America did not win.
Yes, but Trump is totally outside the establishment and can’t possibly understand what is going on.
Ted Cruz has been working his way up inside the political system, so he can really understand what needs to be done to defeat all of the entrenched politicians and bureaucracy. Why Ted has even gotten the financial establishment to finance his campaign.
Won’t they be surprised when Ted Cruz starts turning the tables on them and dismantles all the Crony Capitalism that has been supported by the Washington Cartel! WOW! I can’t wait to see that! :-)
Trump picked up a lot of Indies last night.
You’re right - we don’t care that you thought Trump lost.
Here’s the part I don’t understand. Trump has a huge lead nationally among Republicans as well as in South Carolina. Jeb, at this point, is an insignificant speck and will remain that way until he sees the light and drops out. The part I don’t understand is that Trump should be ignoring Bush as a candidate and not getting down in the mud with him. I want the most electable Republican to run against Hillary. Trump’s performance last night was extremely unpresidential and should have cost him votes. He doesn’t need to attack Bush. He needs to ignore him and just look and talk presidential to gain the nomination. Is that so hard at this point?
It is not ODD, Demon Rats can vote in those polls you post along with people being able to vote multiple times.
So. GOPe is same as DNC.
Good poll for Trump. He is second after all the pundits said it was a disaster.
Rubio and Kasich will never win the nomination, so let them win debates.
And Trump is still who we are voting for. As a Christian, it bothers me greatly to see how Ted Cruz so blatantly lies, or should I say bear false witness. Now he’s saying that if Donald Trump becomes president he would do away with the Second Amendment! I used to think so highly of him and now he makes my skin crawl. Just disgusting.
I watched until the CBS moderator accused Cruz of lying. Any candidate to agrees to debate on any MSM channel has clabber for brains.
Because Rubio is now the GOPe pick.
You heard the audience cheer him, loud and often.
Who made up the bulk of the audience? GOPe picks for cheerleaders.
The Drudge poll is more accurate because veryone reads Drudge.
Libs go to CBS, MSNBC, CNN, etc.

I still expect Trump will win SC, Cruz will be second and Rubio third. KAsich or Bush could be 4th.
If Cruz beats Trump, Trump is in real trouble. iF Rubio beats Cruz, Cruz is in real trouble. If Kasich beats Rubio in SC then there are only three candidates left.
The Dins and LibTards everywhere.
My guess is Cruz wins SC with Trump coming in 2nd or 3rd.
Bush and Kasick are done after SC!
