Yes, we do. You appear to believe that someone who warns you that the government will fail to protect what you think it will protect is unpatriotic.

Has Trump suggested his course of action? I guess I’m looking to him to tell us what his plans are.

Anyone can say they are going to stop something, but the devil is in the details.

No Republicans do what they say, Obama doesn’t do what he says, so it is a small request to ask for the means to the end that we can all back.

Were you in that 20-mile buffer zone near the Mexican border? How many Mexican trucks did you see?

SO, with all that authority, what would he do to stop Carrier from moving.

Saying they can and have authority is not helpful when there is no specific plan presented.

What can he do to stop Carrier, which is what he stated he would do?

Saying other countries are not practicing fair trade is connected to Carrier in what way?

I’m tired of the BS and want specifics.

I know I will never get them, though, but it is a hope of mine.

What subsidies is Carrier getting that could be taken away from them to stop them from moving?

I don’t understand the connection between Carrier’s decision and taking action against Mexico.

Is there one that I don’t see?

Why would eliminating foreign aide to Mexico make Carrier stay in the US?

Make sure the Corporate Carrier boys know of your decision.

There is still a year to influence them.

No not at all asshat. If Apple pays 20 cents an hour in China they are hit with a massive tariff at the border. If carrier moves to Mexico to save 50% in labor we hit them with a 50% tariff at the border. If Apple factories polute the air that will blow here anyway we hit them for that. You know exactly what I meant and you know you have to change the debate to make a point that is unrelated. You are not worth anyone’s time in this discussion.

What will Trump to do keep Carrier from moving to Mexico? First find out why they are moving. If it is taxes or regulation then he do something to correct the problem. Then if they still want to go, he will tell them that he will put a tariff on any Carrier products they want to sell in America. He will then make a deal with Carrier and they will stay in America and employ American workers.

Right. If you buy food from a guy who makes one fourth of your income, we tax your food an extra 300%. To make up for the cheap labor.

That’s sort of inside-out, isn’t it? One of the few things our government SUPPOSED to do is protect us from “all enemies foreign and domestic”!

We have many, maybe most of our companies using off-shore manufacturing, or more and more robotics, and the American blue collar jobs are disappearing. Along with this, we are losing that industrial base that served us so well the last century. Who will we turn to if we are faced with a major mobilization? Mexico?

We have only two alternatives: protect our American skilled workforce and our industrial base or disappear as a manufacturing nation and figure some way of supporting millions of unemployed and unused people.

Oh, and lose the next war.

But I do wonder how.

Tariffs, taxes, killing NAFTA and other trade deals.

Let's see, build a wall, boot 20 million illegals, cut government by 50%.

Yeah, I must be one of those guys.

So your solution is to let our companies fire American workers all they want to and move lock, stock and barrel overseas? We have a different definition of patriotism.

So your solution is to destroy freedom of choice, freedom to contract, capitalism, and the economy? We have a different definition of patriotism, logic, freedom, and common sense. You want Venezuela. Swim south until you hit land, then turn left.

I don’t feel like getting sucked into an “original intent” argument today, of all days, but I really doubt the Founding Fathers would have seen Carrier as an “enemy.”

We want to preserve those things INSIDE of the USA. We want protection from gloBULLism just like President Washington provided as the first President of the USA.

Bringing the cheap labor here, moving the work there, what is the difference. Why do you keep trying to equate fast food with manufacturing? Is that the best you have or can come up with?
