There is a reason for the old adage, “never judge a book by its cover”.
I hope this quote is taken out of context. It is certain fact that the pictures from space do in fact make the atmosphere look very thin. Some of the neat and most beautiful pictures of the Earth from space show this clearly.
God’s planet is a neat place and beautiful. We should take care of it. We don’t need to be idiots, Dims and Commies to see that. We also don’t need to shut down every coal power plant and put up wind turbines every damned place and have a $10.00 tax on a barrel of oil
The one observations does not lead to the other! Too bad Dims took diversity studies instead of reason, logic and science.

Dear Scott,
That tin can you are in looks really fragile also - I could easily imagine a small stone or bolt punching holes in it and undergoing explosive decompression - should we continue to take care of something so poorly constructed? Nah. Its going back to the Russians in a few years anyhow.
And you can go to work in your SUV ... when you aren’t busily burning jet fuel.
OSCAR: Those are ants! We haven't left the ground yet!
“... trumped up hairless apes like us.” Speak for yourself ...
We don’t need to worry about it. God is in control.
Actually Kelly proves that NASA is reverting to its space roots. The cycle is now complete, dogs to man now back to monkeys. Al we need is the grinder for Kelly to dance around for a few pennies. What an idiot
What kind of carbon footprint was required to boot your lying ass into space, Scott? Any regrets?
I’m surprised that Kelly isn’t blaming gunfire for the pollution.
Exactly how many miles into space does the learned astronaut think the atmosphere extend So?
I studied in grammar school (in the 1950’s how relatively thin the atmosphere is compared to the bulk of the planet. This is NOT news, mr.kelly.
And, what is the criteria for fragility of the atmospheres? Are there tale tell sign Saying? Is it a different color? Or were you just Waxing poetic of the enormity of all things in space?
This of course from a representative of a space organization that has to rely on catching rides from their broke, half retarded, mentally unstable brother with the worst cars on the planet.
Yep, identical in every way.
Back when I was floating around with the “Gator Navy” (amphibious assault ships for the Marines), we’d occasionally have ‘Abandon Ship Drills’. Sometime during the drill they would announce that “The nearest friendly land bears 230 degrees, 375 miles.” (’how long can you tread water?’)
Useless information like that made you realize how really, really BIG the oceans are!
“Fragile” - seriously?
The surface area of the Earth is slightly less than 200 million square miles. If you count the atmosphere up to 2 miles (10,560’) as easily breathable, that gives you about 400 million cubic miles of ‘fragile atmosphere’.
That works out to be 7,359,897,600 cubic feet of atmosphere for every person on Earth if we assume 8 Billion people.
Take care of the air & water & soil? Sure! But ‘fragile’?
Really?!?
XD
I always do.
Oh, well. If it “looks fragile,” then we should immediately send trillions of dollars to third-world dustbowls and hamstring American commerce in the hopes that that will bubble-wrap it.
I see you missed the subtle point ...
