Rush: If Conservatism Is Your Only Priority, There Is No Choice Other Than Ted Cruz
The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | 2/10/16 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/10/2016 2:17:21 PM PST by TBBT

If conservatism is your bag, if conservatism is the dominating factor in how you vote, there is no other choice for you in this campaign than Ted Cruz, because you are exactly right: This is the closest in our lifetimes we have ever been to Ronald Reagan.

***snip***

But for those of you that conservatism's the answer and conservatism is the way, you have no choice here. Ted Cruz has got to be your guy. There's nobody even close. Nobody.

Rush is an analyst and conservative commenter...his is an opinion show. He is not the MSM who hides behind "objectivity", he as always been very clear about who he is. It's funny to watch the fickleness around here though when he gets thrown under the bus because he didn't say what posters wish they could have said.

I am sorry this is just not the case. Rush gets fed all manner of stuff to get used to so call analyze and comment. And more often than not he says 'stuff' just so he can get a reaction out of those drive-bys he loves to talk about. He is not as good as Trump in controlling the media but in reality he is no different.

All this itching and whining about Trump's divorces make Trump less conservative.... Oh yeah... I think Rush has Trump beat on that count.

And more to the point, the fact that Rush apparently is not still calling Cruz a follower of 'original intent' of the Constitution washes off that so called 'conservative' brand.

“Tells his listeners IF they are indeed conservatives, they have to vote for Cruz.”

So what? I’ve had multiple Trump supporters here tell me they no longer care about conservatism, they just want Trump whether or not he is conservative. If his own supporters are saying that it doesn’t matter whether Trump is conservative, then how does it suddenly matter when Rush says it?

Anti-establishmentarianism comes back to bite Ted and National Review where it hurts.

One can't keep pushing the "anti-Establishment" thing and expect that people aren't going to notice that one is Establishment oneself.

Establishment isn't simply the opposite of conservative. It refers to insider connections.

If you went to Princeton and Harvard Law, worked in corporate law, politics, and government, and have ties to investment banking, like Ted Cruz (or if you spent years in Washington think-tanks or journalism, like Rich Lowry), it's best to not to try to play the anti-elitist card.

1.) He basically single handedly defeated Rubio-Schumer amnesty and he is not in favor of touch-back amnesty like Trump is.

2.) According to the latest Quinipiac Poll on 2/5 he does much better than Trump in the general....

Cruz / Clinton(EVEN) - 45%, 45%
Cruz / Sanders - 42%, 46%
Trump / Clinton - 41% 46%
Trump / Sanders - 39% 49%

Try another attack. Those dogs won’t hunt.

You are taking Rush’s whole comment out of content. Just like the main stream media picking and choosing sound bites without listening to the whole premises of his statement.

“Conservative Orthodoxy is embodied in the modern Republican party.”

Nonsense. If this were true, they would have nominated a conservative candidate at some point in the last, oh, I don’t know, 3 decades...

A candidate’s conservatism is meaningless if they can’t get elected

“Is he electable in the general?”

More electable than Trump.

“Is he the best on immigration?”

Better than Trump.

Back in the 90s Rush refused to call on his audience to flood the Capitol Hill switchboard to press our issues because he didn’t want it to be seen as him not being “genuine”.

It still blows my mind that he almost never leveraged his reach to push our agenda forward.

“Conservative” means Nothing. 95% of the traitorous scum in the Republican party call themselves “Conservatives”.

When Rush puts up $1 million of his own money to help veterans, then I’ll start to think his conservative ideology is something more than content that he puts forth in a radio program that has made him a multimillionaire.

My own reading and interpretation of conservative thought is as good as his, I just am nowhere near being in his league as an entertainer.+

No way in he]] Trump would sully himself or his campaign with creepy crawly teddy cruznadian slimy Iowa-vote-fraud low life.

Don’t forget folks, pinnochio Ted has a longgg list of no-no boo-boos.

Just for starters, squeaky clean preacher went out to get a campaign manager, and found a guy with a vote fraud past. So the preacher hired him.

Did he tell him not to do that any more ?? noooooo
He told him to do it to Ben Carson in Iowa — so he could win slimy — because he had to donchano.

And voters remember that ever after. Too bad bad teddy

The America we live in today values the here and now.

Give it to me now and I will worry about it later. The Government will bail me out. (Bernie)

Trump says what everyone wants to hear, but has no viable plan to follow through with a commitment. Any commitment!

Separate the wheat from the chaff. He is right but it seems populism is the order of the day.
