Cruz's father: 'Check the fruit' before voting
WND ^ | 2/7/2016 | PAUL BREMMER

Rafael Cruz, the father of GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, is warning Americans to do some serious fruit-checking before they vote this election season.

"There are many campaign conservatives - people that will tell you what you want to hear," Cruz said during a recent interview on the Jesse Lee Peterson Show. "What I recommend is stop listening to the rhetoric, look at their record. Stop listening to what they say. Look at what they've done and what they do.

"Jesus put it this way: 'You shall know them by their fruits.' Check the fruit."

Cruz believes if voters examine the fruits his son Ted has borne, they will see they can trust him. He noted Ted has been at the forefront of many battles, such as the fight to repeal Obamacare, the fight to preserve the Second Amendment, and the fight for the right to life.

Jesse Lee Peterson, the host, told Rafael how much he values Ted's principled stands in the Senate.

"I think most Americans appreciate the way he stood up to the RINO Republicans and others who would not deal with Barack Obama the proper way, just allowing him to do whatever he wants," said Peterson, a WND columnist and author of "The Antidote." "For me, that stood out like nothing else. I do appreciate that."

The elder Cruz, who authored the new book "A Time for Action: Empowering the Faithful to Reclaim America," replied that's the very reason so many Washington insiders dislike Ted, because he exposes the establishment.

I guess it's no longer in vogue to see the light, be saved, turn your life around, and use that saved life to spread the Word..........

Actually it is very much in vogue for some men to divorce after they have seen the light, been saved, turn their life around, and use that life to make money from religion.

Where is Ted Cruz's mother ?

And as far as lack of maturity, Trump consistently shows he lacks it.

Tuesday will decide who is immature and who isn’t. Trump or Cruz. The answer will be made by the voters on Tuesday and then another word will not need to be said. Who wins is the answer of who voters think is most mature of the two. Time will tell. Clock ticking by.

Why isn’t Cruz praising God in New Hampshire. He sure did in Iowa but is afraid of God in New Hampshire. Could it be that he only uses God when it is politically expedient and really doesn’t believe in God at all? It is certainly possible.

Where is Ted Cruz’s mother ?

****************

If you are talking about physical residence I believe it is in the same complex where
Edward lives in Houston. Close to the grandchildren.

“A confession of faith is pandering ... ?

Depends on the circumstances. Why does Cruz do it? If in a church before an invitation, or at a Christian/religious college — fine. If going Gantry in a campaign speech for self aggrandizement and to get votes it’s pandering.

“The last resort that’s the greatest treason
Is to do the right thing for the wrong reason.”

Did you know Rafael and she are divorced ? That would make two divorces. Are you writing that divorce is irrelevant when someone makes a living selling their version of religion ?

Did you know that Rafael senior moved to Canada at the height of the Vietnam War and moved back to the US at the very end of the Vietnam War?

Family values. Some of us do practice it. I’ve been married only once and my wife and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. It’s not hard to do if you are committed to each other.

All this preachy BS from the guy who ran off and left little Ted and his mom to fend for themselves for years while he ‘found himself’. Old Rafeal was Cuban, then British, then Canadian and finally decided to be a US Citizen. He sounds like the foreigner absent father that Obama loves so much.

My understanding is tha Cruz’s father fled Cuba and asked for political asylum. But BEFORE Castro took over.
Is not that he was a regular person fleeing Castro’s communism, it was that he was a Castro supported fleeing Batista’s regime. In other words a communist. Maybe some one can provide more opinions on this.
In any event I don’t want to hear anything he has to say

I noticed that; it was a typical and convenient way to avoid the Draft for American citizens. Was Rafael Sr. an American citizen a that time ? What troubles me is that Rafael Jr., and Barack, appear to be equally valid, or invalid, American citizens for purposes of being natural born. Someone owes Obama an apology if they campaigned against him as a birther and write Cruz is a natural born citizen.

He was a green card holder and green card holders were eligible. He’d used up his deferments and would have been eligible up to age 35 for the draft due to getting deferred, if I remember the system correctly.

I can’t tell if he ever got a notice or what his draft number was, but a Cuban with a green card moving to Canada at that time would be serving notice IN MY MIND that his loyalties did NOT lie with the USA.

He then applied almost immediate for Canadian citizenship, and that’s another indication of his loyalties toward the USA.

SO, we have a non-loyal former Cuban temporary inhabitant of the USA and a US citizen mother who probably knew what was going on.

I don’t think George Washington would have accepted Ted as a natural born citizen.

Yes I know they are divorced. Both her and Rafael have two divorces each. Eleanor was married
to another guy in Houston named Allen Wilson. They went to England and at some point were divorced. Eleanor had another child while in England
but not fathered by Wilson. The child died a crib death.

Not alluding to divorce relevancy.

Unlike Cruz who panders to Evangelicals and uses his religion to get votes,

Hold it hold it hold it. What? I have only seen one Trump campaign speech in full. Mobile Alabama. In it Trump not only threw in Billy Graham's name (10 seconds in the video), but said his favorite book was the Bible. One can only take so much of ME ME ME... "We love Billy Graham" - Trump ... "What is my favorite book (asks crowd)? The Bible" -Trump (18 minutes in the video, not he is waving his own book at the time he says it).
