An "article" posted Thursday by Jeva Lange at The Week blatantly lies about Ted Cruz. And it is not the first time Lange has mischaracterized Cruz's words.

The post, titled "Ted Cruz mistakenly claims Jimmy Carter endorsed Donald Trump," gives the reader the false impression that Ted Cruz said former President Jimmy Carter would vote for Donald Trump.

Lange writes: ...

I guess in the Iraq-Iran War of the 1980s our government preferred Iraq because they viewed it as less of a threat, but if you said Reagan "endorsed" Saddam or liked him, that probably wouldn't be correct. It was strictly tactical. If you said or implied otherwise in a political campaign people would be right to call you out for it.

Public enemy number one for Democrats is whatever Republican they think will beat them. It's the candidate they fear the most. They hate Ted Cruz, but he may not be the one they fear the most.

I would highly doubt that Carter would vote for any Republican and I think most understand that. This thread however was talking about whether Cruz lied about the Carter comments or not which if you listen to what was said by Carter and by Cruz, a person could determine there was no lie told. Did Ted quote Mr. Peanut word for word? No. But he didn’t make up any facts either, just maybe used a thesaurus.

This thread is talking about whether Ted Cruz mistakenly claimed Jimmy Carter endorsed Donald Trump.

YOU posted Cruz's own words: If you watch the video, Cruz does say "Jimmmy Carter endorsed Donald Trump. I am not making that up. That is real..."

Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump. Glenn Beck endorsed Ted Cruz.

Jimmy Carter didn't endorse either Cruz or Trump. He was giving a hypothetical answer in a "choice" between the two.

It is easier to vilify people and call them liars when “cherry-picking” which parts of a statement to post or focus on. You are correct, Cruz does say “Jimmmy Carter endorsed Donald Trump. I am not making that up. That is real...”

What you left out was the rest of the statement:
“he said that between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz I would support Donald Trump.”

AGAIN as I said before, I doubt Jimmy would vote Republican but he’s stating his opinion (I believe) that Trump would be easier to mold and work with across the aisle than Cruz.

Ted is using this comment as a positive for his own campaign.

I think you’ve gone a bit astray with your analogy. I also think Trump supporters have thin skins and short memories as a general rule. Cruz having fun with Trump because Carter prefers Trump to Cruz is almost as bad as Trump calling Carson a violent criminal or pathologically tempered, no?

“Some of you are so fooled it amazes me. Ted is good at crafting a persona that the gullible buy hook, line, and sinker.”

He must be really good. He fooled EVERY conservative organization that rates candidates. They have him a 93-100% conservative rating based on his voting records. He fooled Planned Parenthood too. His abortion rating is 0%. He is amazingly clever at fooling us all.

And who do you support that is so honest, trustworthy, and has such an impeccable track record of conservatism?
