Honestly? You’re coming on with this? Where is ANYTHING from then the equivalent of “My booty, where the poop comes out?” Ridiculous.
Beethoven, Bach, Mozart replaced with this crap.
Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Rembrandt replaced with Andy Warhol’s soup cans.
Shakespeare, Goethe, Chaucer, Dante, replaced with Maya Angelou.
The Muslims are right about one thing. At our biggest TV event every year, shown around the world, we look like “the Great Satan.” That we call this debauchery “entertainment” shows what a gutter culture we have become.
I haven’t watched a half time show in decades ... and won’t until they bring back the marching bands.
I you really want that, just go to the zoo. The apes are happy to oblige.
Something has been bothering me for a long time, black singers and actors, mostly female spend small fortunes having their bodies and faces carved up to look more European. Some Like Michael Jackson go nuts with it.
THEN after all that expense and pain, a few make it to the big time, after which these African-American Princesses spend the rest of their careers in the spotlight telling us how awful it is to be an “Proud and Opressed” African-American.
I look at people like Beyonce as a walking talking Oxymoron.
The NFL can shove their Super Bowl. This time the wife and I are going to see a movie at 6:30. The theatre should be empty as the lemmings stare mindlessly at their TVs and lap up the latest mind numbing commercials between every play.
Nothing is of course. It’s kind of human nature to whistle past the graveyard of the decline of civilization.
We sound like our parents did 40 years ago. I can still remember when my mother found a Rolling Stones record in my bedroom among others. It was bedlam!

If 50’s music (which was certainly tame in comparison) was the first step on the slippery slope that led to this, they were right.
This is gutter music. There is nothing redeeming about it. If saying that makes me a square, that’s fine. I despise the moral degradation I have witnessed throughout my lifetime. I shudder to think where it ends.

So I’m guessing your mother’s reaction to what I cited in #29 in the same manner would be what? Much the same? No better, no worse....equivalents?
My point is that while there may be somewhat similar response between us as oldsters and our parents as oldsters, the level of material CAUSING that response is infinitely worse. There’s no comparison on that aspect.
We have been so barraged by incrementalist hedonism, vulgarity, sexism, one-sided racism, hatred, envy, greed and anarchy that society is largely desensitized to the drastic level of devolution we are experiencing.
My mother once found out I called someone a bitch when I was 8-9 and she clocked me so hard it chipped a tooth. Today that bitch is apparently the half time show at the Super Bowl.
