Trump: I Would Support Women in Combat Roles
Newsmax ^ | 8/23/2015 | Todd Beamon

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Friday that he would support women in military combat roles, but would follow that advice from his military advisers "because I would want to hear that without a political bent."

"The answer is yes because they're really into it," the billionaire businessman told Chris Cuomo on CNN. "And some of them are really, really good at it.

"I would really speak to the generals, because I would want to hear that without a political bent," Trump cautioned. "To the public, they say, 'yes, yes, yes,' but I would want to hear it without the political bent."

Trump: I Would Support Women in Combat Roles

The female Russian snipers in WWII, and a few women in the American Revolution, and other women in many other wars throughout history, acquitted themselves rather well.

Oh, wait, I get it! This statement by Donald Trump is supposed to disqualify him from being worthy of serving as President.

You betcha...

I think it was disgusting that not one candidate said women are not designed for combat and are to be protected.

IMO, women in combat isn’t something that I’d support as a requirement. I think at best, it is a decision that should be left up to each combat command based on what their needs are.

At this point in our country’s serious, serious decline due to a constant barrage of liberal, diversionary ‘wannadoos’ that have to picayune nothing in relative terms to do with the substantive ills we are faced with in this country.

Illegals already here? - get the hell rid of them. Border? - Put a damn wall up and stop them. Unchecked politically driven demographic immigration of religious and refugee sects? Stop it!

Not something that eliminates anyone, just shows the mindset.

Back in my day, it was different. I prefer women not be on the front lines. Old school.

History has clearly proven there are many woman that chose a combat role and in life or death situations came out the winner.

I know, this sounds sexist in it’s best politically correct sense, but these are not your typical women. The typical woman is very feminine and frail and just not built for combat. I watched many of them in the service. Built to be a mechanic? Yup. But about half of them will let a male counterpart carry their tool box. And an good percentage wind up getting pregnant, probably by the guy carrying her toolbox.

Then there is the tippy-toeing around the males have to do to keep out of hot water from the feminist ones. I recall a true story where some male AF cops had a private discussion about their dogs. The guy who owned the breeders referred to the female dogs as “bitches”, which is a correct term. A female AF cop, not a party to the conversation, overheard the word “bitch” and turned them in for an EEO complaint. I personally knew the woman, she was a feminist.

My point is, if you can weed out all the political correctness in the military, and have women join up to serve just like the male counterparts with out special treatment. Then yes. Women do belong. But until political correctness is done away with. NO, women do not belong. The military is not a social experiment.

Now with regards to Trump going to the commanders to find out, that is just ridiculous. Commanders are people, if they can kiss butt to go up the ladder, and say the right things, they’ll do it.

I still support Trump, but he just got another negative point. I’m getting closer to being a full time Cruz supporter.

Regarding the story above about the feminist and the word “bitch”, the feminist was the first person to tell me the story so I know it was true. The guys were not formally disciplined, but were severely reprimanded with the net effect of their morale going down the tubes.

I agree and every damn one played the PC BS game. There are about two others on this board who actually humped the bush in Vietnam and I did, too. I can damn sure tell you no woman is going to take a pill to stop her from taking a dump for 3-4 days straight then hump the bush with 380 rounds of 5.56 mm,4 HE grenades, 4 smoke, a claymore, add a belt of M60 7.62 machine gun ammo, a 60 mm mortar round in her rucksack along with extra ammo, 5 days rations, etc. Then she has to hump through wait a minutes vines that snap back and cut your arms, hands, face, or any where they hit, have leeches crawling on her and sucking her blood, go without any washing of anything, no teeth brushing, no nothing except water, smokes, and food you brought plus you fill your canteens with stagnant water from bomb craters and a halzone tablet as going to a stream will most likely get you killed. Add walking/wading in thigh high swamp water and no squatting to pee, no wandering away from the perimeter at night where you spend half the night awake/alert and only sleep 3-4 hours. You may well have to take an amphetamine to go on this mission as you may well have been up the night before this OP on a night ambush. There is nothing romantic ladies about living like a damn animal in the bush and you make as little noise as possible as your job is to find and kill the bad guys before they find you. One wrong step or noise can get men killed. When you get back off the choppers in camp the medics will give you what we called “brown bombers.” Before you can finish a shower your ass will run for the latrine to take a dump.

Same. I believe in gender roles and men protecting women from harm. I guess in 2016 with the whole “women can do anything” stuff we’re a dying breed.

I try to tell people it’s not about whether or not a woman can do something, is whether they should. The military isn’t some big PC social experiment... it’s meant to protect our nation as effectively and thoroughly as possible. Period.

Women do not belong in Army infantry line units or Marine units who beat the bush killing the damn enemy. This women in Special OPS in BS. I was in both and I have never met a woman, even the ugliest meanest witch, who could do the job.

I couldn't agree more. There are so many negative aspects to this issue that fall under combat readiness. Something as simple as going to the bathroom when you are all suited up for combat to the mental games it plays with men's’ minds, which can be deadly in knock down drag out combat. I do not like it. Now they want us to believe women should be in Special Forces. Give me a break. As a retired Marine with a close relative now in Special Ops., I know what these guys have to be capable of doing because the situations they get themselves in call for being ‘super man.’ There simply is no woman on the face of the earth who can honestly meet these physical and endurance requirements. The only way is to cheat the system on the quals to get them in and then their presence poses too many negative dynamics for the rest of the warriors. If Trump asks true hard nosed generals, they will tell him the same thing.

Its possible America might have to adopt the Israeli approach, where all able citizens must participate in basic training.

Not everyone has to be in a mud filled trench with a rifle and a shovel.

Did not hear Cruz get an opportunity to address it. Did he?

It was the perfect answer. He said he would consult the generals. Men and women may be equal under the law—but we are not the same.

Same here.

Just think what an opportunity this was to say "no, I support women in the military, but on the infantry front lines? I don't think it's wise to force the generals to do this. "

Men have, or should have, an innate protective sense when it comes to their women, I guess mine just kicked in".
