EXCLUSIVE–Voicemails: ‘Ben Carson Suspending Campaigning’; Cruz: ‘Accurate Report’
Breitbart ^ | February 4,2016 | ALEX SWOYER

Posted on 02/04/2016 12:48:03 PM PST by Hojczyk

New audio obtained exclusively by Breitbart News indicates that as the Iowa caucuses began on Monday night, the campaign called precinct captains informing them that Dr. Ben Carson was suspending campaigning, and instructing them to tell voters they should “not waste a vote on Ben Carson and vote for Ted Cruz.”

The calls were placed after the Carson campaign had already clarified that Carson was not suspending his campaign.

Nancy Bliesman, a precinct captain for Cruz in Crawford County, Iowa, told Breitbart News that she received two voice mails–one at 7:07 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST), and one at 7:29 p.m.–on the night of the Iowa caucuses, which began at 7:00 p.m.

The first call came from a woman with a phone number out of Galveston, Texas at 7:07 p.m. (transcript follows audio):

[inaudible]…from the Ted Cruz campaign, calling to get to a precinct captain, and it has just been announced that Ben Carson is taking a leave of absence from the campaign trail, so it is very important that you tell any Ben Carson voters that for tonight, uh, that they not waste a vote on Ben Carson, and vote for Ted Cruz. He is taking a leave of absence from his campaign. All right? Thank you. Bye.

The second voicemail was left at 7:29 p.m. from an Iowa phone number that Breitbart News traced back to a Cruz campaign volunteer hotline.

Hello, this is the Cruz campaign with breaking news: Dr. Ben Carson will be [garbled] suspending campaigning following tonights caucuses. Please inform any Carson caucus goers of this news and urge them to caucus for Ted instead. Thank you. Good night.

Not that I expect it to make a difference to Cruz supporters, but those claims are undoubtedly forthcoming. Carson’s wife was visiting several precincts where Carson voters thanked her for “setting the record straight”.

Not hard to figure this out Cruz played dirty tricks.

The calls were placed after the Carson campaign had already clarified that Carson was not suspending his campaign. ...

...from the Ted Cruz campaign, calling to get to a precinct captain,...

Voter fraud from Hitlery and voter fraud from Cruz. Both of them should be forced out of the race.

In fact in that reported precinct, Trump had 33 points, eclipsing the other candidates, that is not how the voting ended however... Perhaps I misunderstood, could you explain your statement please??

Trump got only 25% statewide. Any rumors spread about Carson would not take a single vote away from the Trump total, it might have added a handful, if anything.

Ted Cruz took responsibility, but it was CNN that reported a press release from the Carson campaign that started the whole thing. Rubio’s folks were spreading this before the Cruz camp caught wind of it. Carson should hold his campaign accountable. Of course, there aren’t many of them left and he is in Washington instead of being on the campaign trail.

Actually the graph shows Trump winning Iowa till the election. Which I don’t know what you have been saying but Trump says he was winning in the polls until “Cruz cheated”.

As the graph shows there was no harm. If I bump into you in the street, even though you don’t need emergency medical treatment, I apologize.

"What we have here is a case of situational ethics for Ted Nixon Cruz."

Noting that I will very reluctantly vote for Cruz if nominated, Cruz is arguably following in the campaign tactic footsteps of Hillary Clinton.

Total idol worship on display. When precinct captains all get the memo, it's from the top, and no where else.

All I can say is I didn’t get that call, nor did anyone else Cruz in our precinct.

Cruz is not punishing the low life offenders because they would out him as approving of these smelly tricks. The fish rots from the neck.

I am sending hard earned money to Carson because of this crap.

Cruz is the skunk who cheats, helps ObamaTRADE to pass
even though it is SECRET, keeps HIS loans SECRET,
and pretends to be ‘conservative’. Right.

You do realize that this article completely busts CRuz, right? Your posts seem to infer something about Trump, of which this article has nothing to do with.

I feel like swearing. That is pretty fudged. I gave money to Cruz; I believed in him. Even when I went for Trump, I was happy Cruz was an alternative.

But his “victory” speech was unpleasant (intelligent people don’t thank Gd for a win against opponents), and the mailer didn’t fit with the ethics I’d imagined he had. And now this: his campaign calling the precincts and saying that. He was hurting another evangelical Christian candidate. As they say, just the optics alone...

I don’t even want him as my President any more. He’s messed up. Honestly, Bernie Sanders is demonstrating better campaign ethics.

I have no issue with Christianity — I am a practicing Catholic who prays everyday, goes to confession regularly (boy do I need that, LOL), goes to Bible study and spends time with Jesus Our Lord and Savior in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

Does that sound like a Christianity Problem to you?

Ted Cruz, has been running a Holier than thou campaign, he is exposed having a truth and accountability problem. It is called hypocracy.

That is the truth. Deal with it.

God Bless.

Today Carson laid off 40% of his campaign staff.

You don’t think other candidate didn’t know his campaign was collapsing. The head of fundraising that defected from Carson to Cruz wasn’t aware of the fragile nature of the Carson campaign?
