Trump Desperately Trying to Hide the Shrinking Size of his Crowds
Red State ^ | February 4, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 02/04/2016 11:55:32 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

There's a reason why Donald Trump is taking his loss in Iowa so hard - it's been devastating to his national standing. His standing in the polls might already be falling like a rock, and now it appears that the rolling concert tour that was his national campaign might be coming to an end. Now comes pretty convincing evidence that his crowds are shrinking, and he's trying to hide it (poorly).

Trump was in Little Rock last night, and he tweeted a picture that seemed to show a typical Trump full house, and that specifically claimed that the crowd was a "record" and that it was "12K."

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

THANK YOU to everyone in Little Rock, Arkansas tonight! A record crowd of 12K. #Trump2016https://www.facebook.com/DonaldTrump/posts/10156603612740725:0 .. 8:31 PM - 3 Feb 2016 Little Rock, AR, United States

The problem, as IJ Review notes, is that the total capacity for the arena where Trump held this event, including floor capacity, is 10,195. So in order for this count to be accurate, this would truly have been an absolutely astounding overflow crowd. The only problem is, it wasn't. Media was there at the event, and documented how, during Trump's speech, large sections of the seating were completely empty and the floor was at most half full.

Here is video that was taken during the event, you can clearly hear that Trump is speaking, and the arena looks at least half empty.

As the Daily Mail notes, Trump at one point claimed that the Fire Marshal said it was a record and they were turning people away. Trump asked the Fire Marshal to come up on stage and confirm it for the benefit of the media, and the "Fire Marshal" allegedly obliged. The only problem is that the man who came on stage was not the fire marshal, but rather the general manager of the state fair.

Of course, the bigger question might well be, what the heck is Donald Trump doing in Arkansas in the first place? Is he really so sure that he will win New Hampshire that he has no concern over New Hampshire's historically late break? Or the optics of being off across the rest of the country while the rest of the field is camped in state?

Agreed 100%.

It’s hard enough to get past post 15 in nearly all the threads with someone making a catty, snide remark about the other guy.

It was refreshing to see an article an dhow he would keep amnesty in place , only to get about 9 posts in with someone mentioning Trump and attacking him.

Both camps are just as bad and it is bringing down FR where these people are acting like children I a playground.

You do have a good point. Add to that the fact that many do not edit their posts to remove the odd characters.

Checking for duplicate posts or fixing the odd characters is not brain surgery, just a little effort on behalf of the posters. Personally IMO, since FR is self funded, to hire extra help to help the lazy is like the fed gov hiring extra employees to help those on welfare that are too lazy to work.

>>I suspect that the majority of FReepers prefer Donald or Ted and can stomach the other, even if barely.<<

Well, count me as one of the outliers then because Donald Trump will never get a vote out of me even if he’s the eventual nominee. You want to vote for the guy that America-hater Jimmy Carter says is so “malleable” that he can work with him, go ahead.

I would vote for Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Fiorina, Christie, and even Bush, but I will never vote for Trump, on principle. And I think if you start counting the “outliers” in here you’ll soon realize that there’s a lot of people who feel the same as I do. Why he’s succeeded in conning so many conservatives, I have no idea, but he most certainly has done just that. Even Carter has figured that out.

Oh, and before you go with the standard accusation that I’ll then be effectively voting for Hillary, consider this: If you succeed in nominating Trump you’ll have caused a large percentage of conservative voters to either stay home or vote 3rd party, and you will have been made well aware of that before you nominate him. So if Hillary beats Trump, it’s due to your decision to support a nominee many conservatives have told you they can’t stomach. Your decision has consequences too, you know.

Agreed 100% back to you. So what to do? I think we need to somehow carve out a spot on FR for like-minded individuals that intentionally won't go to the extremes, won't be a part of that vitriol. Differences, sure, but not indictments, or personal attacks (either the candidates and us). Not sure how to do this.

My including Jim on my last ping to you was a first for me in 13 years on FR. I included him here on this followup as well, because it is just that important. No need to reply Jim, and I WON'T bother you again, just was hoping that I could somehow get this message over to you that I think there may be a critical mass of FReepers who want to somehow ameliorate this situation and rally around TWO candidates as both being acceptable, and then lets see how far their campaigns take them. I'm hoping it catches on and finds the candidates and their campaigns cooling it as well. Your post yesterday served as my impetus to look for a solution to this debilitating issue. I even just changed my tagline to something more centrist.

I'll take Rubio over Trump. Cruz first, of course. But never Trump.

Same here.

Probably because the 0P, like the rest of us conservatives, is tired of the GOP fielding another Socialism Lite candidate.

Cruz 2016.

Yes I just saw an article mentioning Cruz going after Rubio and thought great. I got to the 9th post before someone attacked Trump. SIGH.
The article was about Cruz after Rubio.

I honestly do think we need a place for them to go and let them air it all out so others can enjoy the site.

You are not bothering me either and have a safe, nice weekend.

Whatever bolo, you win.

Enjoy the downward slide aided by all you we are so consumed with hatred you can’t see the forest for the trees.

But I’m sure you feel full of joy and love as you beat your chest that Cruz is a Christian, woo hoo.

To those of us whose main concern is illegals, muslims, refugees and third worlders sending us to the back of the bus, Trump is our guy.

Do you think I’m voting for Cruz because he’s a Christian? Shows what you know...

And, while I hate Trump, it’s mostly that I refuse to be fooled by him. That’s why he doesn’t get my vote. You can go ahead and be fooled. I won’t be.

I suppose... if you like touchback amnesty, then Trump *is* your guy. There won’t be *illegals* under Trump. He’ll put in a big beautiful door so they all become LEGALS, which will REALLY send you to the back of the bus.

Don’t be fooled.

Even if there were empty sections, the place was packed, thousands of supporters. So other than trying to weaken Trump’s image, what’s the point of all this garbage.

Perhaps we should see some videos of Cruz & Rubio rallies. Now there’s some empty sections.

That leaves Rubio who worked with Schumer on amnesty or Cruz who will be palinized and gone. That leaves trump whose entire candidacy is based on “either we have a country, or we don’t”

I never said I support Rubio, he is not establishment, to far left for my taste.

I may be your enemy, can't really see it I do not know you, nor do I care to. I will never insult you for a comment, as you have me.

Trump will be Palinized well before Cruz. These two Corinthians told me he’s ripe with material.
