'I don't think so, darling': Donald Trump dismisses woman defending illegal immigration

Colin Campbell

1h

Donald Trump held a town-hall-style event on Thursday, and his first question was from a woman who appeared to criticize his hard-line approach to illegal immigration.

The woman began by saying she was from Southern California.

"You live in Southern California? What are you doing here? Are you a liberal Democrat, by any chance?" Trump joked at the Exeter, New Hampshire, event.

She continued by saying she had friends who immigrated to the US illegally.

..snip...

Trump responded by accusing her of asking the question on behalf of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), a left-wing Democratic candidate.

"Who told you to be here? Bernie?" he asked her. "No, no, this is a Bernie plant. This is a Bernie plant. All right, OK, I understand your question."

The questioner no longer had her mic after that, but the same woman reportedly then yelled at Trump that immigrants were part of the backbone of the US.

"I don't think so, darling," Trump shot back. "I don't think so. I don't think so. No, I don't think so. They're not the backbone."

Guess you missed this huh?

Let me just tell you something, you know what the backbone of our country [is]? People that came here and they came here legally. People that came to this country legally. And they worked their a— off and they made the country great. That’s the backbone.

Do you know anything about how Contracts work and how sub-contracts work? Trump doesn’t set their wages. If the GC or its sub-contractors skimp on paying their employees or providing the proper equipment, that isn’t Trump’s fault nor his problem.

Quite true. And illegals must never be offended...unlike legal citizens, who can be called haters, racists, xenophobes, rednecks or whatever, at will.

But this was well done by Trump. And much more of the message he needs to get across for his candidacy to be successful. The whining won't work for him.

I am also a Cruz supporter, but I will back Trump, Carson, or anyone besides John Ellis Bush when he is in the right (John Ellis Bush can afford his own defenders). While I doubt "darling" was a Bernie plant (probably a generic lefty stooge), he didn't didn't try to sugar coat his position for her. The nuclear family has been the true backbone of this country, and it needs more than a chiropractic adjustment.

In short:The ones who work hard and have something to offer America. They will have to leave and apply to come back like everyone else.
What is accomplished? EVERYONE LEAVES and has to come back(if they do) legally. Of course all criminals, dregs of humanity, suckers on the national dole, troublemakers, those who do not intend to ASSIMILATE into the American culture will not be allowed in or back in if Trump is President. Elect Cruz and you get amnesty and open borders. Rubio the same.

"You live in Southern California? What are you doing here?"

That's a good question. What ARE you doing in soviet Red Hampshire? Quite a trip.

Neither Hillary nor Bernie will get to ask him such questions. Trump will not make it to the general election. They will be asking those questions of Rubio.

Read my previous posts, dipwad. I support Trump. These questions need to be asked.

Here's just one link of many to show how ignorant you two are:
http://abc27.com/2015/07/07/report-several-illegal-immigrants-work-at-trump-hotel-construction-site-in-d-c/ According to the Post, the majority of the workers on the site of the future Trump International Hotel in D.C. are Hispanic, many of whom entered the country illegally. According to stonemason Ivan Arellano, who is from Mexico and now is legally in America through marriage, Trump’s comments have dominated discussion around the construction site. “The majority of us are Hispanics, many who came illegally. And we’re all here working very hard to build a better life for our families,” Arellano told the Washington Post.
