Cruz has 'strongest ground game' in Tennessee, campaign director says

NASHVILLE -- Fresh off GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz's Monday night victory in Iowa's caucuses, the head of U.S. Sen. Cruz's Tennessee campaign says it has the "strongest ground game" going in the Volunteer State.

The campaign also sought to provide new momentum here by announcing an additional nine Tennessee legislators who are endorsing the Texas Republican, bringing the total legislative endorsements to 18.

That's "10 more legislators than the next closest GOP candidate," Stephen Siao, Cruz state director, said in an email to reporters. We will also announce a county chair for each of TN's 95 counties, which no other campaign has achieved this cycle, and no GOP campaign achieved in 2012 or 2008.

"We have," Siao declared, "the strongest ground game by far of any GOP campaign in TN."

The list of new endorsements includes state Sen. Janice Bowling, R-Tullahoma, and state Sen. Jim Tracy, R-Shelbyville.

Others are: state Sens. Mark Green, R-Clarksville; Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald; Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains; Rep. Tilman Goins, R-Morristown, and Rep. Ron Lollar, R-Memphis.

I agree with everything u say. I honestly pray that God’s will be done, as i know it will be. My personal wish is for Cruz, but i know God knows best.

Our country needs continous prayer.

Well to start with, you do not fairly treat the classical liberal; in fact you are perpetuating the myth of the modern illiberal which is parallel to the way that perpetually dissatisfied homosexuals call themselves gay. It would be as though you said it was evil to be gay, forgetting what gay used to mean.

You might try, if you are really an objective scrutator, to stop using lies in your tag.

And what’s more there are those who take conservatism to a crime. Who would wrench it out of the context that God gave it. So there you have two lies that I have pointed out.

You can stubbornly KEEP the lies, but know that they are lies!

WHAT IS A FREAKING GROUND GAME..?!?!!

Evangelicals and tea partiers are turning out to volunteer for Cruz. Rubio is attracting some volunteers, but many fewer. Bush is paying people to work, but you do see at least a few Bush doorhangers. Trump's "ground game" is the news media. There may be Carson, Fiorina, Christie, Kasich, Huckabee, and Santorum people knocking on doors and on the phones, but they are like Bigfoot: no one has actually seen them.

The tension in the GOP right now is straightforward. The moderate wing of the party includes many people who are embarrassed by religious and social conservatives -- you know, those speaking in tongues, snakehandling rubes who actually mean what they say about abortion and school choice -- as well as those unsophisticated tea partiers who actually believe in the constitution. Conservatives have sucked it up and supported moderate nominees in recent cycles. The question is whether the moderates will reciprocate.

I used “liberal” instead of “Leftist” in my tagline because:

A) When we denounce liberals, it is commonly assumed that we’re not denouncing the classical liberals, but those who call themselves liberals today. And fighting the Left to attempt to reclaim the word has not been a battle many have fought; among others, Reagan wasn’t interested in that fight. You are, in fact, the only poster on these forums to ever object to my tag.
B) Many Leftists do not recognize themselves as Leftists, but almost all of them recognize themselves as liberals. Since many of them browse this website, I want them to be fully aware of what they fundamentally are: criminals.
C) The left-right political spectrum itself is a creation of the Left, so the problem lies with the fact that modern day liberals / Leftists / criminals / etc. have constantly had an edge on conservatives in defining themselves within the English language. Your complaint does not address this fundamental issue.

Finally, “sodomite” is the proper term to use for ... those people, since it is the term used by Scripture.

Which is liberalism/Leftism.

For someone so eager to criticize others for wanting to use harsh tactics, you sure are willing to use them yourself.

That's one of the first things I learned about TN when we moved there-- the "three Tennessees" theory. Interesting.

I thought you said that you were in TN now.

Please provide a reliable source clearly identifying T Cruz as the originator of a report about Carson quitting/surrendering/withdrawing the contest.

I have searched but cannot find anything to pin this down to Mr. Cruz. Forward what you might have.

Thanks.
