The ultimate goal of the antigun movement is this: the universal elimination of civilian firearms’ ownership and possession.
This is true and incontrovertible. Everything the antigun movement does is directed to the attainment of that goal. Nothing the antigun movement does diverges from the path to that goal. When asked to admit the truth of the assertion, the antigun movement, and its sounding board, the mainstream corporate media, will deny it, curtly and vehemently. But, the antigun movement’s actions belie its blunt denial.
Realization of the movement’s goal amounts to de facto repeal of the fundamental right of the people to keep and bear arms – a right expressed clearly and cogently, succinctly and indelibly, in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Yet, if there exist any residual doubt as to the import of that right, the U.S. Supreme Court laid such doubt to rest in the 2008 Heller and 2010 McDonald decisions.
In Heller the Supreme Court held;
“the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.†This right, the high Court maintains, operates as a constraint on the federal government. The question subsequently arose, in McDonald, whether the Heller holding applies to the States as well. The high Court held that it did, asserting, clearly, categorically, unequivocally, “the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment incorporates the Second Amendment right recognized in Heller.â€
Still, the antigun organizations, and many lower courts amenable to their views, resist Heller and McDonald...

There is no End Game, no Ultimate Goal, to anything liberal/progressive/socialist because they are never happy even with Total Control.
I think 2A supporters have become aggressive and much of the anti gun legislation in the nation has been turned around, as we see more and more states back off of unconstitutional regulation of gun ownership and use. Still a long way to go as only a handful of states have “constitutional carry” and also that the left has adjusted and refocused its attacks to states, i.e. Washington now requires ALL transfers of guns go through FFLs and NICS, and the same initiative being pushed in Nevada right now.
It’s the battle of good vs. evil and it will never end.
Once they have made you even consider that the 2nd Amendment could be repealed they have won half the battle. The enemy needs to be knocked off their heels with the undeniable truth - that men must always have the right to protect themselves from harm and that when men rise up and become tyrants they always want to remove other men’s abilites to defend themselves. Hell Who better than a nerd to understand that.

The 2nd grants nothing. It enumerates a God given right that predates the Constitution. Repealing it would do zero to change that.
The goal is to have us completely defenseless and totally reliant on government.
If they get their way and guns are outlawed they (with the help of whomever is backing their ngo) will move onto something else.

What about outside the home, where you are many times more likely to be attacked? Badly worded ruling, IMNSHO.

Wrong! Their goal is to disarm disfavored groups. Liberals have no problem with guns as long as they can dictate who can have them. Its OK for them to get a pass but not you. Once a select few (govt santioned insiders) and the govt have guns genocide is the next stop.
That said their goal is competely impossible. They might attempt to disarm the general populace but the goal will never be realized...ever.
While I applaud the sentiment expressed by Roger J. Katz, "Attoney at Law" (yeah, spelling mistake in the original -- don't you have a paralegal or something?),the quality of this article is nonexistent.
I was expecting to see some moderately useful links to statements by various gun control advocates admitting that their ultimate goal was ending private ownership of weapons, but no luck. All that's there are a bunch of repetitive statements saying how that it is an "uncontrovertible fact." Well, if you say so....
I've personally gotten in arguments with some gun-grabbers, and those statements revealing the ultimate motives of some gun control advocates are definitely out there, but you have to dig for them. It's always fun when someone says "nobody is talking about taking away your guns", and then you slap them with a few quotes to the contrary.
Just was kind of hoping this guy might have done some of that legwork for a convenient link to bookmark....

The perception after Heller is that we don't clearly have the same 2A rights outside our homes.
The fact that we already have over 20,000 common sense gun laws on the books but the left keeps wanting more and more and more should be enough to show what their ultimate goal is.
Did anyone here catch that fake ABC thread yesterday talking about Omama EO-ing a limit to civilian gun ownership to three guns per person?
When I saw that, I told my Wife, “Well, this is a declaration of war.”
I believe going to such clickbate sites simply encourges them to make more phony articles.

I disagree with the author that the goal is universal elimination. They really only want to take them from the law-abiding whites.
