Sanders defends tax increase pledge after Pelosi's comments
The Hill ^ | 1/31/16 | Rebecca Savransky

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Sunday shot back against House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) comments that Democrats aren't "running on any platform of raising taxes."

Sanders said the U.S. is spending "far more than other countries on healthcare."

"My proposal will save middle-class families thousands of dollars a year on their healthcare costs. Most people tell me, 'Yes, they would be happy to pay $1,000 more in taxes if they're paying $5,000 less in healthcare premiums,' " he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Sanders said the U.S. needs to follow every other major country in controlling healthcare costs and guaranteeing healthcare to everyone.

"We have got to take on the drug companies who are ripping us off and the private insurance companies," he said.

He also said he doesn't think House Democrats will mind that his plans include raising taxes.

"Hillary Clinton will be the problem," he said." Because I think our campaign is the campaign that is generating excitement and energy that will result in a high voter turnout. Republicans win when voter turnout is low. Democrats win when voter turnout is high. I think our campaign is raising issue about a rigged economy, a corrupt campaign finance system."

There is nothing the Bern can't do after gathering up all of your money. (Still haven't found out where he invests his loot.)

Bernie has the best plan I’ve heard since Obama, Pelosi, and Reid got together seven years ago. If we give Bernie control over medical care, he will save the average family of four $2500 a year. Period. If we let him pass BernieCare, and we like our doctors, we can keep our doctors. Period. What could go wrong?

"Yes, they would be happy to pay $1,000 more in taxes if they're paying $5,000 less in healthcare premiums,"

Ah, they played it so well...Screw America with 0 care and when the pain becomes intolerable, the comeback is; "Ok, we'll reduce the pain if you pay more in taxes."

Effin' Brilliant!

Like you know how to reduce premiums by 5000 dollars. Last time we were promised 2500 in reductions. What happened there?

Me too. None of the Republicans are educating people about the dangers of socialism and the millions that have died under it.

She's certifiable.

There will never be enough money, EVER, from tax revenues to satisfy the likes of people like Sanders. Carbon taxes, Obamacare “penalties”, rich taxes, sales taxes, etc. It will never be enough for these drunken whores (my apologies to drunken whores outside of Washington.

He has a Willy Wonka Magic Tax Dollar Conversion Machine.

For every tax dollar we put in, we get back five dollars in health care benefits.

(He is also working on a cure for entropy.)

Seriously. Does anybody trust piglosi? It doesn’t matter what she says. We all learned you have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.

Nancy Pelosi?

Since when are the D's the party of lower taxes?

Wow. If nothing else, this story provides real insight into the panic in the D Establishment.

“”Yes, they would be happy to pay $1,000 more in taxes if they’re paying $5,000 less in healthcare premiums,””

So Bernie, just give each of us $4,000 a year and let us do whatever we want with it.

A Sanders vs Pelosi debate would probably be better than with Hillary and Marty.

As the old saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Are people REALLY THAT STUPID? Don't people remember Obamao's promise to reduce health care cost per family by $2,500? Is it believable this time 'round because Bern upped the ante to $5,000? Can anybody point to ANY example of government driving down the cost of anything?

Me, too. That prospect scares the bejeebers out of me. If you can, be sure to read Peggy Noonan’s article in the WSJ yesterday “Socialism Gets a Second Life” which does a great job explaining why anybody under 35 or 40 thinks socialism is a great idea. That’ll scare you even more.

Unfortunately, the WSJ paywall has gotten hard to crack.

When $ 2,500 won't do. Obama said this also. It was a lie We have heard this lie before. Bernie isn't a socialist he is a full blown Communist.
