The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

I sent it to "Iowa for Trump" just in case they didn't see it. That guy is going to have a field day. He's young and media savvy. He's the guy who broke the story about the Cruz campaign quitters and their candid opinions.

Love or not, tough or not, it was still a massively boneheaded move. In the age of viral videos, do you really think that everyone in the world that isn’t the target audience won’t have access to it?
Despite all your deflection and defense, the vast majority of opinion is that this was dumb and insulting. You might not think so, but that doesn’t change that this mailing still made a lot of people feel insulted and associate Cruz with that feeling.
This was a terrible move on his part. I just really hope it’s somehow not true.
I hate all political junk mail. I throw it right in the garbage. But I don’t consider sending it an offense that someone should be condemned to Gitmo for like some of the “shocked, shocked” Trumpians in this thread. Hilarious, over-the-top faux outrage on display here.
I am so happy I unliked Ted after he voted for TPA. Evidently that was before the heavy data mining began. Because I never get any mailers. emails or calls from Team Cruz. I also avoid on line polls other click bait.

That's a lie and you and Cruz...and everyone else in America...knows it.

With the neighbors' names and knowing that THEY would see one's name on it too....then this is just HORRIBLE, INVASIVE, and plain old STUPID!
This is trying to motivate a narrow segment of voters who are apathetic.
It succeeded. Now they’re not apathetic, they’re infuriated.
If this is true—IF—then Rubio is going to gain tremendously on Monday night.
No one should hold out hope that it's some sort of dirty trick. It belongs to Cruz.
