Trump's campaign manager: 'Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump' (+ Cruz challenge)
Politico ^ | 1/27/16 | Nick Gass

Donald Trump's campaign manager gave no ground on Wednesday morning after a Fox News statement singled him out, suggesting that he threatened the network with "terrorizations" of debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly.

-snip-

Asked about Ted Cruz's call for a one-on-one debate before Monday's caucuses in Iowa, Lewandowski said the Texas senator's campaign was not the only one to reach out asking if they could participate in the Trump campaign's event for wounded warriors and veterans on Thursday night in Des Moines.

"Well, look, he's not the only one. We've had calls from many debates, from many of the candidates now, to say look, why would we participate in the Fox debate as well? I think what you're finding out, once again, you have the candidates reacting to the only true leader in this race, which is Donald Trump," Lewandowski claimed. "He leads, and all of a sudden everyone realizes that, hey, maybe it's not the best idea to be involved in these debates, maybe we should leave as well. So I had a number of calls yesterday with some of the other campaigns who said hey, can we come and join you in raising money for the Wounded Warriors and the veterans, because, you know, Fox isn't going to be fair to you, what makes them think they're going to be fair to us?"

As for whether more could bolt the Thursday night debate, Lewandowski demurred.

"Well, it's very possible," he said. "Obviously, they have to do what they think is best for their campaign, but they reached out to us proactively so they could be part of our debate, our event, which we're going to do on Thursday night in Des Moines, and so we'll see what happens."

I think there is a mutual high school obsessive sexual attraction between Trump and Kelly.

-- Other candidates may ditch Fox debate according to Trump campaign manager. --

The statement put out yesterday by @FoxNews was a disgrace to good broadcasting and journalism. Who would ever say something so nasty & dumb 8:02 AM - 27 Jan 2016

I figured the other candidates would figure out that without Trump there to beat on, they don't have suficient reason to appear.

FoxNews and Trump may have just collapsed the RNC primary debate schedule into a void.

Can you explain how boycotting a FOX ambush is “running away?”

If you recall, it was Cruz who called out the Fox crew for the idiotic questions that all the candidates were getting. That worked.

When MK opened with her woman question, Trump was not ready to nip that nonsense in the bud. It took Cruz to get up in her face on behalf of all the candidates.

Is Trump incapable of learning a lesson on how it's done?

Debates have run their course

What debates are you referring to? Have not seen any recently...

-- Other than Cruz, have other candidates commented in public about this? --

Not that I know of. Cruz's reaction is to taunt Trump for "ducking" confrontation. Would be an interesting one-on-one, but I think Trump gets more mileage by taunting back.

Trump is forcing changes in the rigged debates. For years we all demanded that Republicans do just that and not play on the media’s terms.

Now we have a man actually doing it and some here are calling him a coward because he isn’t “their guy”.

Dense...

I believe trump has already done that, prevented coverage of one or more events by news organizations who have not given sufficiently positive coverage.

Debates have run their course, it’s time to end all of them, forever.

***************

Don’t agree with forever as some do help expose the candidates to the public.
But twelve seems to be a money grab of some kind.

I guess we missed the memo. CNN and MSNBC are the fair media outlets now. We’ll see how that plays out they are if and when Trump debates Hillary ( or Biden depending on how things turn out).

This debate was not part of the deal. It was set up last minute as a “killshot”

“Google and Fox TV Invite Anti-Trump Muslim Advocate to Join Next GOP TV-Debate”............

What a joke...... If Megan Kelley couldn’t derail Trump, Fox wants to bring some “Muzzie” advocate to see if that would work. Pathetic losers, Fox and Goggle.

Oh and if their guy actually got the nomination you know they would spend months complaining about press bias and crooked debate moderators all the way until Nov, where they will blame the loss on that.

Didn’t watch all of Megan’s show last night, but Christie was on to comment & other candidates were to appear later in the show.

It is true that she is obsessed. I’ve peeked randomly back at her show since that first debate, and then when she returned after her nervous breakdown.

Entirely randomly, I repeat, and not once did I happen on a piece of time that didn’t include at least one attack on Trump.

My guess is that she has been all Trump all the time.
