Trump's campaign manager: 'Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump' (+ Cruz challenge)
Politico ^ | 1/27/16 | Nick Gass

Donald Trump's campaign manager gave no ground on Wednesday morning after a Fox News statement singled him out, suggesting that he threatened the network with "terrorizations" of debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly.

-snip-

Asked about Ted Cruz's call for a one-on-one debate before Monday's caucuses in Iowa, Lewandowski said the Texas senator's campaign was not the only one to reach out asking if they could participate in the Trump campaign's event for wounded warriors and veterans on Thursday night in Des Moines.

"Well, look, he's not the only one. We've had calls from many debates, from many of the candidates now, to say look, why would we participate in the Fox debate as well? I think what you're finding out, once again, you have the candidates reacting to the only true leader in this race, which is Donald Trump," Lewandowski claimed. "He leads, and all of a sudden everyone realizes that, hey, maybe it's not the best idea to be involved in these debates, maybe we should leave as well. So I had a number of calls yesterday with some of the other campaigns who said hey, can we come and join you in raising money for the Wounded Warriors and the veterans, because, you know, Fox isn't going to be fair to you, what makes them think they're going to be fair to us?"

As for whether more could bolt the Thursday night debate, Lewandowski demurred.

"Well, it's very possible," he said. "Obviously, they have to do what they think is best for their campaign, but they reached out to us proactively so they could be part of our debate, our event, which we're going to do on Thursday night in Des Moines, and so we'll see what happens."

"She's on show after show about why the media shouldn't be having him on television"

Have I missed something?

'Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump'

From where I'm sitting, it seems like the opposite is true.

Oh good for Ted!

Go, Ted, go crawl to the media like a good dog and bark at their command.

All true conservatives support subordination!

Debates have run their course, it’s time to end all of them, forever. Once upon a time, the debates served to introduce the candidates and their policies to the voters, but they are now just a theater of absurdity led by media agendas.

Bingo. The debates were becoming, frankly, boring.

Now this development, this is anything but boring. In fact it’s very entertaining. Trump has broken the stodgy format of the Presidential primary where candidates prostrate themselves to a yapping left-wing press corp who inevitably ask loaded questions like, “why do you think so many women hate you”. Trump has stood up to the MSM and said this debate and the so-called moderators are B.S.; something I think most Republican voters have known and complained about for years.

Trump has reneged on a deal he made.

How so? He promised to support the eventual GOP candidate but didn’t hear him pledging to attend every debate.

I think this is a good move on Trump’s part. It shows toughness. No one can push him around and the world better know that. Something our present leader lacks.

Ronald Reagan refused to participate in the 1980 Iowa Republican debate, saying he thought it was wrong for Republicans to attack each other.

Can you explain how boycotting a FOX ambush is “running away?” They need him more than he needs them. I won’t be watching if TRUMP is not there.

That is absolutely the best way to take up Cruz’s challenge.

Tell him that the debate is on Thursday night at such and such a place....be there.

And when he doesn’t show....

Will you come to my house and debate me, with my best friends as moderators? Or are you just scared?

Cruz said he wanted to debate trump one on one live on Mark Levins show. I thought the candidates were contractually bound to not attend debates outside of the party sanctioned ones?

Cruz doesn’t have the balls to walk away from Fox. He will suck up like a little girl no matter how many dirty tricks are pulled. Exactly why we do not need him or any of the others. Only one candidate has brass balls and it isn’t your girlyman.

Pray America wakes

Other candidates may ditch Fox debate according to Trump campaign manager.

What if FOX held a debate, and nobody came? ROFLMAO!

I think FAUX News really stepped on themselves with this one.

They need Trump more than Trump needs them.

They are the high school chess club. Trump is Bobby Fisher.

I await Cruz's response. Does not pass the smell test. Cruz is going to the Fox debate, keeping his word.

Speaking of smell tests, isn't it against the rules to have 1 on 1 debates like Cruz is calling for? Wouldn't Cruz know that before he even asked? But let's just assume that it isn't against the rules and Trump answers Ted's challenge by offering to debate him during the time he was supposed to be at the Fox News debate. What does Ted do then? Now that would be a scenario that would make media heads explode.

Personally I would support either candidate if they got the nomination. This is just pre election entertainment.

Fox reneged on their integrity. He saw an ambush and blew it up. Nobody should go to that debate. This is what the District of Corruption is all about. Who do you think is next after Trump?

Trump is the only one that appears on mainstream media on a regular basis. He calls out lying journalists like he did last night. What is wrong with that? He had the journalist squirming because he lied and left out the other half of a quote he was trying to use against Trump...

Lying reporter from NBC: ‘I couldn’t get the other half of the quote because I didn’t have WIFI’

Trump: ‘well you need to get wifi..get outta here’ lol

Good take on it by Adams. Trump has Fox News’ family jewels locked in his safe atop Trump Tower in NYC.
