Trump's campaign manager: 'Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump' (+ Cruz challenge)
Politico ^ | 1/27/16 | Nick Gass

Posted on 01/27/2016 4:25:09 AM PST by jimbo123

Donald Trump's campaign manager gave no ground on Wednesday morning after a Fox News statement singled him out, suggesting that he threatened the network with "terrorizations" of debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly.

-snip-

Asked about Ted Cruz's call for a one-on-one debate before Monday's caucuses in Iowa, Lewandowski said the Texas senator's campaign was not the only one to reach out asking if they could participate in the Trump campaign's event for wounded warriors and veterans on Thursday night in Des Moines.

"Well, look, he's not the only one. We've had calls from many debates, from many of the candidates now, to say look, why would we participate in the Fox debate as well? I think what you're finding out, once again, you have the candidates reacting to the only true leader in this race, which is Donald Trump," Lewandowski claimed. "He leads, and all of a sudden everyone realizes that, hey, maybe it's not the best idea to be involved in these debates, maybe we should leave as well. So I had a number of calls yesterday with some of the other campaigns who said hey, can we come and join you in raising money for the Wounded Warriors and the veterans, because, you know, Fox isn't going to be fair to you, what makes them think they're going to be fair to us?"

As for whether more could bolt the Thursday night debate, Lewandowski demurred.

"Well, it's very possible," he said. "Obviously, they have to do what they think is best for their campaign, but they reached out to us proactively so they could be part of our debate, our event, which we're going to do on Thursday night in Des Moines, and so we'll see what happens."

How many can you name who have run ads against Trump besides Cruz? None. They hit each other, not Trump. I could be wrong and apologize if I am. But I only see Cruz hitting Trump. Jeb once upon a time did. But now he goes after Rubio.

Yes Cruz is out there screaming that Trump is scared blah, blah, blah, and John Ellis chimed in with Trump is not a Christian. Its kiddie chaos. What a joke.

Trump does not need Fox News at all. He’s done 6 debates he has nothing else to prove. Tomorrow night is being set up as an ambush to try to bring Trump down so he loses the Iowa Caucus. Let Cruz face Megyn and see how he likes it. She will turn on him without Trump as a shield.

That was a good analysis.I wish Trump and Cruz would team up...the IQs and people skills would be fantastic together.

Cruz is my guy and Trump knows him well. Trump ain't nobody's fool. 1st, Trump has nothing to gain from that. 2nd, he has plenty to lose because he knows that Cruz would smoke him in such a format. (no moderator, only a timekeeper)

I can't fault Trump a bit from shying away from certain defeat.

We used to be for Trump/Cruz too, but the Natural-born citizen question is still open, and I don’t want another guy who started running for President right out of High School, again. Bill Clinton was enough.

Yup, kelly is so obsessed she puked before the debate. Don’t remember the woman in fatal attraction having that reaction.

Steve Spurrier gained a lot of fans by that action.

Mike Gundy gained fans when he chewed a woman reporter’s ass at a press conference.

Oh come on dude, it's not just series but hugh as well. Did you look at it or not? Even though Trump is trashing the hell out of the best man we've had in decades, there is no way I would have walked into that trap.

Trumps' slander sucks but Fox sucks even worse.

p.s. (off topic) Did you see where the Waco DA told the court that they need another YEAR before trial?!? Talk about SUX!!!

Why isn`t the HHHUUGGGEEE Tony Perkins endorsement for Cruz not on the front page?

Because it is not as huge to the population as it is to you Chauncey. I had never heard of him. Who is Tony Perkins?

Did you see the cartoon CNN posted on FB. It was the Republican candidates in normal size chairs. Right in the middle was an oversized tall chair with Trump written on it? Think they are having fun.

Good idea! People are bored with the simplistic Q&A format, which is not really a “debate” at all. It becomes almost like a stand-up comedy contest, but not as funny.

“They need Trump more than Trump needs them.”

Precisely.
And their featured pole-dancer, Megyn Kelly, needs Trump like Tina Fey needed Sarah Palin—just as a parasitic leech needs a healthy organism to feed upon for nourishment.

Wrestle with a skunk and even if you win, you lose. Trump understands this and schlonged all of them.
Fox is no more conservative than Politico, Red State or National Review; Murdoch is an open borders advocate.
