If you call spewing out a list of unsubstantiated charges that, because of time and format constraints of the ‘debate’, were impossible to answer ‘eating Cruz alive’ then your standards for honest debate are different from most reasonable people.

You remind me of the football coach making excuses for his team losing, “It was raining”, as if it only rained on his team. Rubio and Cruz basically had the same time constraints. That is the name of the game in debates, if you are falsely gigged in a debate (although Cruz was not falsely gigged) and you can’t overcome it, you lose, which makes it ridiculous to choose a candidate based on debating skills alone. I use to watch William F. Buckley debate, and after him, no one can really debate. He broke the mold.

“No...it shouldn’t be a war with the media”

They are at war with us. It’s either fight or fall.

“everyone certainly knows there’s bias”

Not so. The country is full of people who think the media are at least trying to report the news or provide entertainment.

“and a whole host of other warts they wear.”

It’s not that they wear warts; it is that they *are* leftists—and that is a loathsome thing to be. Leftists are leftists before they are anything else. They cannot stop themselves from using their media positions to push leftism. They are incapable of restraining themselves.

“Trump’s not the only candidate who has spoken back to the media and he won’t be the last.”

The first campaign I remember is Ike’s second. The only candidate who ever did anything similar was Ronaldus Magnus. None of the current crop of weaklings will even approach Trump in terms of appropriate responses to media misprision. Ever.

“the only way the media is affected if people stop watching and they aren’t going to do that no matter how the media acts or refuses to act.”

The dinosaur media have been slowly dying (think Cheech Marin in “Yellowbeard”) since Rush Limbaugh went national. The advent of the Internet was another lance through the heart.

People have been turning away in greater and greater numbers since the Reagan years made their lying hypocrisy apparent.

“and you can be sure Fox considered advertiszers possible negative response in their planning.”

When the ratings of this debate drop significantly, it will become apparent who considered what and who is just another liberal mouthpiece.

“They ALWAYS go back to Fox...just like it’s viewers do.”

When Fox News debuted, their lie-to-truth ratio was as low as 50%. That made them seem like a breath of fresh air. Now it’s often as high as 85%. They are losing viewers too.

There is one thing, and only one, that the lame-stream media could have done to save themselves, but it was the one thing they could never do.

Stop lying. Just stop lying.

But that was and remains beyond their powers. As Fox’s early successes show, the first significant news resource to simply stop lying will own the world. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Fox.

I really don't care what the media does or say in light of this country needing Leadership.....all these side "shows" are doing nothing but causing further division and taking away from "the work at hand".....and that's to get THIS election right!

AS SAID by King........ "America gets one more chance to Chuz a president and get it right... If wrong, we will almost certainly become a ...

Yeah I did. You said Cruz did not have time to counter Rubio.

Well, if Rubio had the time to stack a case against Cruz, and Cruz was unable to counter it, yes, he lost that round. In the real world, that is how it works. It the same as a boxer who would have recovered fully from the blow if the count had been twelve. It is ten and it is over.

If "dropping an entire oppo research folder on the debate stage" at the end of one's allowed time is a legitimate tactic then I'm sure anyone would be capable of "winning" a debate.

So one could win by talking out of turn. Or shouting loud when your opponent is trying to talk. Or showing up sans pants so no one pays attention to the other guy. All these would be ways to "win" a debate.

Despite all the rancor here about Trump’s move, the speculation and name-calling, we can know to an absolute certainty within less than a handful of days whether he made the RIGHT move. The polls and viewing audience at Fox will tell the tale, not a bunch of shrieking. If he was right, he was right and his momentum will be unstoppable the rest of the way, he said, speculating. If he was wrong, the mugging from all corners will be merciless.

Seems fair to me, either way. It’s a big-boys game, politics. Personally, I kinda think Trump is going to come out of this smelling like a bed of roses drenched in Chanel. It’d be nice to wrap up the GOP side early and move on to wrenching on the Dems. Eh?

If Cruz and Rubio will support the winner in meaningful ways, the sweep of states will be remarkable.

Trump made the right move...Fox was going to go for a kill shot. Trump sensed it. Now he is poised to run the table.

“One of the key reasons the Tea Party movement was founded was out of frustration with this skyrocketing debt. Yet Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s proposed tax plan would increase the national debt by $10.1 trillion, according to scoring by the nonpartisan Tax Foundation. And that’s after taking into account the increased economic growth that Trump’s plan would generate. (Without such growth—and liberal scorekeepers would say the Tax Foundation’s model is overly generous in projecting growth—Trump’s tax plan would increase deficits by $12.0 trillion”

How do you know they don't?

If they did they would surely announce it for good publicity purposes and to bolster their broadcast image.

FOX is MAKING MONEY and wants to keep it rather than help Vets.

Please show me how much Fox is donating if that's so.

If we choose Trump we may have another chance to choose; any other choice is likely to be our last.

Cruz is weak. He cannot save the country.

If Trump can’t, we are facing final doomage, because none of those other half-a-Marxist wimps even know what they should be doing.

“Trump’s tax plan would increase deficits by $12.0 trillion”

It’s just silly to talk about what Trump’s tax plan would do without considering what Trump’s spending plan calls for.
