Donald Trump is the favorite to be the Republican nominee. Period.

The Iowa caucuses are 10 days from Friday. And Donald Trump, the larger-than-life real estate reality star, is -- still -- the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination. Not only has Trump not disappeared or imploded -- as everyone everywhere predicted he would -- he appears to be getting stronger in both early-state and national polling as actual votes draw closer.

At this point, Trump's path to putting the nomination away quickly is far easier than the one Hillary Clinton must travel to capture the Democratic nomination. That doesn't mean Trump is a sure thing just yet, but he has, without question, the best chance of any Republican running to claim the party's top prize.

Below, my latest rankings of the six men who have a realistic-to-semi-realistic chance of winning the GOP nomination. If your preferred candidate's name isn't on the list, it's because they, well, aren't going to win.

#10 - I think Trump was “turning the knife” with that statement. This man is going to come down like a rock on opposition.

Let’s hope it’s not us at some point.

They’ve moved on to the later stages of grief, which seem to be “insanity” :-)

I wonder, how did you deduce that trump is not God’s instrument?

Very true - they seem to be lashing out a lot now...and some getting banned for it.

Your right. He is the favorite of the Washington insiders, LIEberal politicians, DNC media, Bill and Hitlery, and all all those who prefer strip clubs and casinos to churches and lemonade stands.

That is the really scary part Trump has been vetted, He has changed positions more than Imelda Marcos changed shoes. He is still ahead because of a cult of personality.

As Joe Scarborough said this week

GOP should call him the presumptive Nominee

He is not running.

Trump might disagree with you on that.

I think Bernie Sanders will clean Trumps clock. Trump isn’t promising freebies and the people want freebies.

Conservatives disgusted by Trump may be joining Conservatives for Bernie.

I don’t know that this isn’t God’s plan. The same way I don’t know if Cruz isn’t God’s plan.

The point is he has that popularity from who he is, and that concerns me. People look at that rather than what he stands for.

“I’ll tell you: I like what Trump says. I like his plans. I like his proven ability to build teams, negotiate great deals, delegate authority effectively, and lead large organizations.”

Running a business is different than government. You can’t fire who you want and can’t procure goods & services from who you want. Making deals aren’t the same either.

I’d like to see Trump governor of New York first! NY is effed up with a lot of illegals, high unemployment, fiscal woes etc. Let him fix that and I’m sold.

Correct.

People envision how their candidate will look on television. It’s a major factor in the selection process.

I like what he says too. However, I look at what he’s done and had said, and I get very concerned. He doesn’t have a good record. I think he does whatever he likes at what time he likes to get the results that he wants.

I honestly hope if he’s elected that he will be a strong fiscally responsible, Constitution believing conservative, but I don’t see it.

Too many Americans are putting their hope in man and not in God where it belongs.

I actually agree with those points. My only wish is that Trump would tone down the noise and talk about this stuff. It is critical to how he can be good for America. But instead, he says silly, boastful, egotistical things.

Most people in the country are not going to get past that.

And yet not a single vote has been cast. Unless Trump supporters flood the caucuses in Iowa in an unprecedented way Cruz will win there. Then what?

I expect he will in overall popularity on the day of the caucuses—but among those who actually show up to caucus?

I think Cruz will at least get out a stronger representation than his actual support.

Nothing has really changed in the last month. The leftmedia just doesn’t want to be shown as fools when Trump runs the table. So, they’re putting down their actual predictions.

Bravo. The more the media (and GOP/Dems) attack Trump, the greater the blow-back...lovin’ it!

To me, Trump is the second best candidate. And until he forced Cruz to come out against amnesty, he was the best.

Now I pretty well prefer Cruz, but Trump is still way ahead of the Rubio, Jeb, Kasich, Christie, Carson and the whole rest of the gang.

He’s also the most likely candidate right at this point.
