Fox News Cavuto ^ | September 24, 2013

Has weird title.

Great video of Palin talking about Cruz and the shutdown of the government over the (UN)affordable healthcare act.

This video is worth watching.

I will defend Trump supporters because they are my friends. They're not constitutional conservatives. They don't know what that means. They don't know how many judges are on the Supreme Court, probably couldn't name the vice-president and damn sure don't know who the Speaker of the House is. Furthermore, they couldn't care less.

Wins the post of the most ignorant and biased post of the day!

Clarence Thomas is a friend of mine!, one of nine Supremes. VP Biden will be Donald's opponent. The SOH is Paul Ryan, a closet GOPe.

I agree with Sarah. I support Donald J. Trump, the clear WINNER.

Since 2008, the primaries have changed in significance for me

Same here Finny. Without Palin I never would have wasted my time money and effort out-of-state voting for McCain. He disgusts me now as much as then, probably more.

Talk about taking something out of context! Did you not take in my entire post? I am telling people about my personal contacts that love Trump. Guess I didn't make myself clear enough. I can go to any of my jobsites tomorrow and pass out a basic civics test. There will be a 95% failure rate. Guaranteed. MOST Freepers are attuned. Too bad they decided to fight against one another. Your post is living proof.

If you take a deep breath and take my entire post in you might be able to see that it was neither ignorant or biased. I love Trump supporters.

BTW, great job on passing my difficult civics test. I was forced to give you an A+ because I don't grade with bias! ;-)

Those guys do work hard and they won’t stop working hard even if Trump is elected. We need them now more than ever. God bless those men.

The fact that Palin endorsed Trump over Cruz does not make Cruz a bad guy. People who are bitter with Sarah over this need to get over it. There can only be one president.

I had a situation at work where I had to choose between two outstanding candidates to fill a managerial position. It was a heartbreaking decision because both candidates were qualified for the job and wanted the position badly. I knew that whoever I did not pick would be greatly disappointed, if not devastated. But the choice had to be made nonetheless.

I respect Palin's decision to go with Trump on this one. And it doesn't mean that she won't support Cruz in a future election cycle.

Thank you so kindly!

We are all taught from childhood that anger and the desire to get revenge, are bad things. Christianity teaches it, too. Yet some people openly embrace those reasons for supporting Trump.

But what's accomplished by striking angrily and bitterly at an entrenched ruling class we're all ticked off at? Especially through such a vehicle as Trump, with a long and decided left-moderate past?

The very fact that expressed anger and the desire to "get back at the GOPe" are Trump's biggest appeals, should be a warning flag, it is a warning flag.

To me, Trump consistently evidences hot-headedness and slow thinking; he looks to me exactly like a happy old blowhard. That's not an insult to Trump supporters, just the kind of thing one might say about any entertainer, and I hope everyone here remembers that THAT is why Trump is famous in the first place.

Entertainment, marketing, brand-building are the only reasons Trump has credibility and trust. As far as his vaunted deal-making abilities and wealth success go, his brand may claim to be top-notch, but in the actual marketplace (the milieu of American entrepreneur billionaires) he is average. His famed reputation is strictly self-promoted; there are real estate moguls who are considerably better at the "art of the deal" than Trump, yet they are wisely reticent. What does that suggest about The Donald? That fortune just wasn't complete without fame for him?

Cruz is young and it appears to me, pretty cool-thinking. There are things I don't like about him, yes, but that goes with the territory. There are so many more, worse flaws in Donald Trump, that the contest ends quickly for me. Trump is a left moderate assuredly, from continued ethanol subsidies to government-mangled ... er, managed, health care.

Fellow Republicans asked -- no, that is wrong, they EXPECTED -- me to vote for that kind of "deal" in Romney the last time around. Oh well.

These days, I will only vote for what I want to win. What we stand to win with Trump -- fearful folks may perceive it as a reprieve from the more sinister socialist in the wings as what we "win," but in fact we would win more leftism by our own hands.

Swirling faster and faster in a leftward, downward spiral of more and bigger government. That we voted for.

It's becoming clearer every year that things will only reverse when we stand and fight by voting for the opposite direction, by voting only for the direction we want to go. As long as people are willing to vote for going in the wrong direction "this time" then we will keep on going faster and faster in the wrong direction.

The only ones who own it are the ones who voted for it. That included me for more than 30 years. That has changed.

Bingo! Glad to see I’m not the only one seeing this. Could it be possible that Sarah is also playing along with Donald and Ted?

I agree it will be very interesting. Just imagine the GASP of everyone when Trump announces his VP. LOL

Look, I am as disgusted with the personal insults and Palin attacks as you are.

Finny, I have NOT been complaining about the personal insults that have ALWAYS abounded on FR. They actually have a place when countering posters who are repeatedly lying and know it.

Have not been pushing Cruz over Trump or the other way around. Have left that for others...for the many other FR posters, a few of whom are are not necessarily honest people and/or have other non-apparent motives for spreading discord here.

If you choose to read some of my posting history this past week, you should see the main thrust of my posts has been directed to a few unethical jerkwads posing as FReepers who have no reservations in making unprovable accusations and quoting anti-Palin articles and forcefully posting hatefully and personally against Sarah Palin and her family members and without cause and repeating the same slanderous innuendo over and over. They do it because FR management inexplicably allows poor behavior lately more than in years past.

And all the while, these disrupters and destroyers of any integrity that remains of Free Republic go unchallenged by those FReepers who tell me privately that they hope the "bad guys" will just go away after the election or might be zotted maybe perhaps who knows. And we should be nice to them in the meantime.

Whatever has happened to Free Republic consistently visible moderation? Is it still there? Is moderation of FR just wielded occasionally to remove selected comments when whoever makes an abuse complaint for whatever reason? Is the heavy-handed and unpredictable Thor's Hammer ZOT to be Free Republic's legacy and only effective tool of maintaining some degree of legitimacy to this fading website?

(Speaking of the onset of dementia, I too have to keep a watch on myself, making sure the blue liquid foaming soap refill doesn't accidentally go into the cool-mint blue mouthwash bottle.)

Memory still seems keen enough still, though, and I cannot recollect in past years finding FR as hateful a site seemingly with no discernible direction as when an over-abundance of dishonest postings went uncorrected/unchallenged by management this past week regarding the slander published here against any and all things Palin.

Finny, nominate whoever you want to the Republican Party Presidential nomination. Keep your lists of who's naughty and who's nice. In recent months, I've been getting more of my information and forming opinions about things that matter to or interest me from information retrieved elsewhere other than here on FR.

Keep your lists of who's naughty and who's nice.

Fascinating how you so entirely miss the point. Try this: SKIP READING THE NASTY POSTS.

Now you have in your own post to me just dabbled in the very thing you say turns you off to FR when you see it in others.

You assigned to me, personally, the petty qualities of a person who keeps lists "of who's naughty and who's nice."

That's perhaps the only reason YOU would assemble such a tally, it disgusts you and then you make it about me instead ... and voila, you have just contributed to the very "personal insults" you claim to find so awful to read here.

Why are you so apparently undiscerning in what you choose to read that you choose to read the personal insults that irk you so much? So STOP READING THEM and skip on to the next, hopefully more interesting post!

C-ya!

We are being played -- and allowing it to happen, because the GOP-e is just too GDmnd stupid.

No, they are very smug in smart assurance -- I just heard Mark Levin himself provide it, and see FReepers do it all the time -- that no matter how awful Trump is, they will obediently vote for him if he gets the nomination, if only out of plain fear of the Democrat alternative. Ah, that prevailing wisdom of letting abject fear prevail and result in our own voting ourselves hurtling leftward for the past 35 years, bringing us to where we are today.

Stupid, my foot. At the very bottom, ALL of this fuss-up for THEM regarding Trump, is stuff and nonsense, of little consequence. They're confident Republicans will again fall in line and vote for a big government "negotiator."

That is the play going on. Because Trump is a MODERATE, he is quite palatable to the GOPe.

Finny, first off, you contradict yourself on your homepage. You state, "I had good grades, played violin, and rarely got in trouble. Rebellion was not in my nature."

In the very next paragraph you say," ...whenever the teacher led us in "Where have all the flowers gone?," I sang loudly and nasally to show my contempt. The rest of the class thought it a good joke and either giggled or joined me. I was fearless of being sent to the principal. I knew in my heart I was in the right, and believe the teacher knew it too, because he never took steps to discipline me"

That is, by the very definition, 'rebellion'.

I was the same way. I was National Honor Society from Junior High through High school. I saw straight through my teacher's socialist tendencies. and would call them on it in class much to their chagrin.

I listen daily to Rush, Michael Berry, Hannity, even Levin try to educate us on why the establishment hates Cruz more than Trump. They get close but so far have fallen short of the end game. The establishment is looking farther down the road than ours heroes in the conservative radio programs and see this:

Prime example #1. When Ted called McConnell a liar from the Senate floor that is all that the MSM allowed the American people to hear. They dared not allow the citizens to hear the rest of the story. Ted explained in very simple to understand terms what the Senate leaders did to squash the easy victory that was at their fingertips. Regular folks were not allowed to hear that. Freepers heard it all but the vast majority of hard working Americans did not because of the collusion the MSM has with the elite.

The Washington Cartel looks farther down the road and can see what would happen if Cruz was elected President. He would own the U.S. Presidents 'bully pulpit'!

Imagine for a minute the House or more especially the Senate pulling their procedural shenanigans with Cruz as President. Cruz is very educated in the Roberts Rules of Order. After the very first instance of congressional tomfoolery he could announce that there will be an announcement from the Rose Garden first thing at 8am tomorrow morning! NOW, the MSM has no choice. The President is speaking and they must be there.

8 o'clock the next morning he tells Americans just what went down in simple and understandable terms.

He lays out that McConnell or Ryan could have done 'ABC' and stopped this cold, or 'XYZ' and blamed it being out of their hands.

They know that with the pulpit of the Presidency he could and would DESTROY the Washington Cartel. In my not-so-humble opinion, they will kill him before they allow that to happen. Thank you Finny for giving me another opportunity to get things off my chest. They have been building for some time now FRiend!

-Elliott.

Some folks just read enough to pounce without reading with context. I understood you were talking about your friends that work for a living and don’t have the time for politics—they just know that something very wrong is happening to their/our country. So...they support Trump because he has the biggest swinging *ick out there taking all of them on. I get that. I get that you support Cruz. You do that for your reasons. I support Trump for my reasons. Whatever. The whole goal is to try and change the direction of this country and save it. Let us hope it can be done. The GOPe will not allow Sen. Cruz reach Cleveland. It is also doubtful they will allow Trump. At least at this stage of the game it looks like he might have a chance to take their bat and ball away from them. But they got the umpires on their side (as well as a laundry hamper full of delegates to pull out at the right time.

Does anyone remember during 2008 the Democrats had a big meeting to decide how many of Hillary’s delegates to take away from her and give to Barack? Obama was not even on the ballot there, but they stripped her of delegates and gave them to Barack. This is the thing we are dealing with here...the elites.

Wow -- well said, good food for thought. You are RIGHT about Cruz being the scariest threat by far. No wonder the establishment is okay with Trump. The left can and will negotiate with him.

Again, well said. Thanks for posting it!! I've pinged a few FRiends -- houeto's post is a good one worth reading.

“Hardcore trumpees now trash Cruz for every reason under the sun including what they praised him for in the past. Whatever Donnie says is gospel, especially the obvious lies.”

What “Trumpees” (we prefer that you capitalize our title thankyouverymuch) trash Cruz for is his betrayals while in the Senate. Trump has not betrayed us. (Not saying that he won’t, but he hasn’t yet.) Cruz has, and his betrayals while in a position of power have been on important issues.

Look, there’s an excellent chance all of us are wrong. Either guy could make matters worse, or make matters better. It’s a crap shoot, since nobody can see into the future. We all have our reasons for our choices. Your reasons aren’t better than mine, and mine aren’t better than yours; they’re just different. God help us all, as the future of America is at stake.

FRiend the people consulted by the GOP-e — they are idiots. This IS a Conservative country- at it’s very heart. Constitutionally and culturally. Mr. Trump and pals do not give a rat’s ass about anything but themselves and the continuance of some fake meme. Imagine this man as CinC— no Conservative can. More subsidies, bigger govt. that lines his and his pals pockets— and THAT is what these small people see. This is NOT Ronald Reagan, and the majority of supporters are NOT Conservatives.
