Talk about a bunch of red herrings. The stuff that I care about as a conservative just wasn't addressed. At all. There was absolutely nothing about:

1) his opposition to restructuring Medicare or Social Security, which a Republican President must address;

2) his promise to have the government guarantee health insurance for all Americans;

3) his statements in the 2012 race opposing self-deportation as "cruel", and otherwise criticizing as harsh Republican proposals to send immigrants back over the border; (and I did watch the immigration portion just to be sure)

4) why he supports continuation of farm subsidies, and is using that as a wedge issue on the campaign;

5) why he said Obama was doing a very good job and that people were unfairly holding him to too high a standard

Etc. etc. etc. The video picks off the low-hanging fruit of cheap MSM attacks, but doesn't address at all the very real concerns many of us have about his substantive proposals. But since that video is all about the "Untruths", I can only assume that means that all the other stuff is true.

Just out of curiousity, I also watched the segment about the bankruptcy "Untruth". But that turned out to actually be true -- Trump had four separate businesses that declared bankruptcy. Whether he "took advantage of the laws at the time" -- which funny enough is the same excuse used by many of the Wall Street people who profited from the housing market -- isn't the point for me, or I think for most people.

For me, the relevance of the point is that those declarations of bankruptcy -- which had the effect of protecting part of Trump's assets -- resulted in a great many subcontractors not getting paid, which put a lot of those small businessmen completely out of business. For a guy who prides himself on standing up for the little guy, that stinks.

Thank you, but nevermind. As you can see, I found an index and commented on what I found, and the portions I watched.

I saw the index, the index not so good. I agree, we need a transcript. I asked the author for one.

I still think the video is excellent, as is, and will still post it at the bottom of at least some of my comments.

“but he’s not conservative enough. Right.”

Trump supported TARP, Auto Bailouts, Obama Stimulus
Trump supports continued funding of Planned Parenthood and Ethanol Subsidies
Trump is against Right-to-Work and for “Hate Crimes” Legislation.
Trump is uncomfortably complimentary of Government run health care.

So yeah, he is not conservative enough. He is a progressive populist.

“Tell us again what GS boy Cruz, buddies with John Roberts, supporter of fast track TPP for Obama has told you recently.”

You do know that Goldman-Sachs received TARP (bailout) money, right? - Trump supported TARP, Cruz opposed TARP

Cruz’s first choice for the Supreme Court was conservative Mike Luddig. He only supported Roberts after Bush nominated him.

Cruz wrongly supported TPA, in part, because of promises made to him be McConnell. TPA authorization for most every other president would have been a good thing (but not in the hands of Barack Obama)

how do you feel about Mitt's changes of heart four years ago

I thought he made it very obvious that he was not fit to be President. The "lower 47%" comments demonstrated that he was not at all interested in being the President of all US citizens. Quite the opposite is Trump's campaign. Everything about it has been inclusive with free rallies for everyone instead of private meetings with deep pocket donors.

Palin went national. She’s changed from the person I supported in 2008. That was shown when she quit as Alaska Governor. She needed to go out and make money, I understand that. Politics is a dirty business and Trump’s as bought and paid for as any of them.

I personally thought it was a very valid point that took guts to raise. He raised it inartfully, but it deserved discussion. Too bad more Republican didn't help him out when he did it.

The point was that we had almost half the population who are net recipients of government payments. Once you cross the 50% point as a nation, you're arguably toast, because the majority can then simply vote to enrich themselves at the expense of those who produce wealth.

It's not PC, and it wasn't calculated to appeal strongly to a set of potential voters. So, you're right. Trump never would have said it.

The misconception that everyone who collects benefits doesn’t want a job and doesn’t want to get ahead is elitist. What would the result have been if Romney had gotten just 10% of those votes that he didn’t campaign for?

You're right -- just because someone receives benefits doesn't mean they don't want a job or to better themselves. That's where Romney should have spoken more clearly to ensure people know he wasn't making that assumption about everyone

But it is still a concern when you have an ever-increasing number of people who are receiving money from the government as opposed to paying it in. And the truth is that there are a lot of people who will vote for whichever candidate promises them the most government goodies, whether it is health care, a free phone, free birth control, forgiveness of college debt and/or free college, free gender surgery, etc. etc. etc..

That should concern those of us who pay a lot more in taxes than we receive. And if wanting to give less of your money to those who haven't earned it is elitist....well, count me in.

re: and the truth being that a lot will vote for whomever will keep them living off benefits

I don't disagree. What I'm saying is that there is a percentage that would vote for jobs over benefits. And Romney threw those votes away with that comment.

Look at Trump. He's going after the black vote. If he can get just 20% of it, that's the difference in some close states. Like OH, for example.

Trump is a strategic, analytical thinker. He won't make that kind of mistake.

Trump has already made that kind of mistake with some of his stupid comments about women. There's nothing wrong with not buying into the PC nonsense, but some of things he's said have needlessly offended some women that might otherwise vote for him.

He’s going to build a wall, secure the border, deport illegals, repeal Obamacare, cut taxes for working people, and protect the second amendment, rebuild the military and defend Christianity—but he’s not conservative enough. Right.

And his past proclamations make you believe he's not just playing the populist card to get elected, why? Conservatives have NEVER been lied to by politicians looking to get elected.

Differing opinions? Sure. I’d LOVE to hear the Cruzers offer some kind of justification as to why they support their candidate

How about this...

Conservatism works. It works every time it is tried. Sometimes it is a hard sell. Sometimes taking medicine and eating broccoli is not fun but it is necessary.

We are losing the ideological and political battles because conservatism is not being defended. The policies of easy fixes, easy money, I'm O.K. you're O.K., do what "feels" right, identity politics, etc... are what are winning the political battles today. We need to get back to the idea of "What works best?". When that the subject of debate, conservatism will win out.

Cruz actually understands the principals of conservatism. He has been debating Austrian economics and Constitutional issues since he was in middle school. He has defended them in front of the Supreme Court (AND WON). He knows this stuff through and through. He can explain to the American people why these principals are right and what the consequences are for abandoning them, not just say that he is "for this and against that".

We need to start winning the argument in front of the American people before we can start winning elections or changing policy. Cruz is the one to do that. He has been doing it his whole life. Trump has no clue what the basic tenets of conservatism are. He currently supports a few policies that are indeed correct and desperately need to be undertaken. I have no confidence whatsoever that the policies he supports today will be the ones he fights for 2 or 4 or 6 years down the road. Simply look at the policies he advocated 6 years ago from today.

I can be reasonably sure that Ted Cruz will continue to effectively advocate the same conservative principals he has been for 25 years. That is why I support him.

To me, what Cruz believes or doesn’t believe is utterly irrelevant. I’ve seen him flip-flop enough not to believe him and, even if I did, he has zero chance of winning against Hillary since has absolutely no cross-over appeal or name recognition whatsoever.

Your recycled Rush argument was almost cogent until you start trashing Trump with nothing to back it up.

Just more smoke, mirrors and jealousy.
