I’m convinced Trump has done his deal with the GOPE. They will have a love fest between now and November.

The Establishment thinking is that if Trump beats Cruz in Iowa, they can then beat Trump with Rubio, Bush, or Christie.

I think you missed the point of the story. The GOPe is trying to take out both Trump and Cruz and stick us with Bush/Rubio

Yep yep. Hat tip to AndyJackson for inspiring me to check on Trump’s real views on Davos.

Taking out Cruz can only mean a Trump nomination. Their is plenty of oppo to take Trump out. Lots and lots.

Let me guess. Everybody is saving it until he is nominated.

Sorry that just plain retarded. “Trump is for open borders.”

Do you hear that sound? It’s the short bus honking. Time for you to go to day care.

That deserves its own thread.

Erick Erickson who has been a Trump critic says the establishment favors Trump over Cruz. A consultant says the same.

Big deal. This articles mean absolutely nothing. You can get Washington pundits and people from the consultant class to say anything.

People who criticized Trump for being an outsider and unacceptable to the Republican establishment are now criticizing him for being supported by the Republican establishment.

I guess if they can spout nonsense like “Trump is a liberal!” then there’s nothing too absurd for them to spout.

I used to think they were all just deluded - now I think they’re trolls.

I’ve been predicting this for months.

Trump’s success won’t be the demise of the GOPe. It won’t be a hostile takeover. It will be a friendly merger. One in which the GOPe ultimately retains all its power, once Trump gets all the personal glory he wants.

Thanks for posting that article ... I had not read it. Of course McConnell (a liar) is not likely to help Cruz because Cruz called him a liar. But besides that the author made an interesting point. If it came to the floor for a vote how would that turn out? Cruz doesn’t have a lot of friends in the Senate (because he tells it like it is).

The article makes the case that NOT having a vote might actually be better for Cruz ... unless they know in advance it would be passed overwhelmingly

“Imagine what Trump would do with the news if, say, 30 senators refused to vote yes in affirming Cruz’s eligibility. And imagine how Cruz fans would react to McConnell if he forced that vote, knowing how it might backfire on their guy. You can understand why McConnell’s laying low here.”

So that's the strategy of the other GOP candidates? To save the ammo on Trump until he is nominated?

Brilliant!

If it gets down to Trump vs Shrillary, there will 10x the dirt on her and Trump won’t be afraid to use it.
