Trump Hits Cruz on Loans, Citizenship: ‘Did He Borrow Unreported Loans From Canadian Banks?’
The Blaze ^ | 1/16/2016 | Kaitlyn Schallhorn

Posted on 01/16/2016 7:29:56 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

Even as GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz faces scrutiny over failing to disclose certain loans used in a previous Senate race, Donald Trump did not miss an opportunity to bring the Texas senator's Canadian birth into the mix.

As the New York Times reported, not only did Cruz fail to disclose a Goldman Sachs loan used for his 2012 Senate campaign, he also apparently failed to disclose a loan from Citibank for the same race. In a series of tweets Saturday morning, Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner, eviscerated his fellow candidate and raised more questions regarding his citizenship.

"Based on the fact that Ted Cruz was born in Canada and is therefore a 'natural born Canadian,' did he borrow unreported loans from [Canadian] banks," Trump tweeted.

Since Cruz has crept closer to Trump in polls, the business mogul has repeatedly raised questions over Cruz's eligibility to hold the office of president as he was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father.

"Ted Cruz said he 'didn't know' that he was a Canadian Citizen. He also FORGOT to file his Goldman Sachs Million $ loan papers. Not believable," Trump said in another tweet Saturday morning.

"Oh no, just reported that Ted Cruz didn't report another loan, this one from Citi. Wow, no wonder banks do so well in the U.S. Senate," Trump continued.

Trump also continued to criticized Cruz for comments he's made about "New York values" on the campaign trail and during Fox Business' Republican presidential debate Thursday.

"The Ted Cruz wiseguy apology to the people of New York is a disgrace. Remember, his wife's employer, and his lender, is located there!" Trump tweeted Saturday.

Cruz's wife, Heidi, announced last year that she was taking an unpaid leave of absence from Goldman Sachs...

Yeah because following the two trillion rules and regulations of the federal bureaucracy is so simple that it should be a hanging offense if you fail to file all one hundred forms exactly on time and 100% correct.

Every candidate needs to be vetted.

Did Trump secretly promise his friends the Clintons that he would run in the GOP primary to sling mud all over the Republican candidates to pave the way for a Hillary victory?

Trump talks a big talk, but he has never done anything, supported anything, or spent his money on anything to support conservativism or making America great again all these years. That is until it benefits him. Now he talks a big game, but his actions have been nil.

Honestly, why do you support Trump?

What is his track record?

Has any other candidate in this race given money to Hillary Clinton to run for President or Senator?

Is Donald Trump really pro-life? Or is he all mouth.

His track record suggests he is all mouth.

So don’t tell me why you hate Cruz, tell me why you could possibly love Trump.

The GOPe has finally found the chink in the armor. They’ll just let Trump and Cruz take each other out. Divide and conquer......

Say hello to a JEB/Rubio brokered ticket.

Amen.

Romney claimed to be a “severe” conservative. That is until he got the nomination and turned left.

Trump is just playing everyone for a fool. That is because for the most part, America is a nation of fools. Don’t believe me? Just look at who our president is now.

I’m not Kenny but I have to answer this.

Trump sees and understands what is wrong with the country.
He is willing to put his life on hold to try and fix it.

Not to become president because that it the top rung for all Senators and Governors, but because the country needs to be fixed.

I was watching Trump’s face as Cruz was speaking and he looked really angry.

Trump always gets angry whenever anyone says something he doesn't like. He is too thin skinned to be president.

Have you not noticed? Murdoch and the GOPE are getting in line behind Trump. The deal is done. 4 years of a trump presidency will be the same ole stuff. He’ll be explaining why no one is working on the wall. Why he hasn’t rolled obammycare back. Why he hasn’t overturned any obammy executive orders. The only difference will be a much better looking first lady....

Plug in the last name Trump.

Trump has donated to Clinton, Daschle (Democratic Senate Majority Leader), Ted Kennedy, Schumer (Gang of 8), Gillibrand (of assault weapons ban fame) and a number of other Democrats.

You believe that poppycock?

If he saw what was wrong with the country, why did he praise Obama just a couple of years ago? Why did he donate to Hillary Clinton's campaigns?

Trump is all mouth. His actions speak louder than his words.

Did you hear the debate? Cruz said he had filed the loans on one report and had mistakenly did NOT file on another required form. He admitted his mistake.

if you think that’s political hardball you better go back and check your history.. this is a nothingburger paddy cake back and forth among Cruz and Trump compared to Bush and McCain in 2000.. then in 2008 you actually had McCain’s people trashing Sarah Palin who was their own running mate

who was pushing the sleazy Rubio adultery story a few weeks ago?,, Bush?.. at least Cruz and Trump do the barb tossing personally without relying on creepy sleazebag smear merchants to toss mud

everybody relax this is the fun part of the election watching the barbs going back and forth.. Cruz and Trump are big boys they can take it and dish it back out

EVERY primary season has this even during the Reagan/Bush fight in 1980 where Bush’s people were trying to make Reagan look like a wacko warmongering cowboy
