A Trump/Kasich Ticket?
National Review ^ | January 16,2014 | Myra Adams

Posted on 01/16/2016 11:42:34 AM PST by JSDude1

Is Trump warming to Kasich as his running mate after the last debate? If Donald Trump manages to win the Republican presidential nomination (and this is becoming less of an “if” with each passing day), then he must select a vice-presidential running mate. Surely it will be tough for The Donald to share the national ticket with anyone, but at least he will still be on top. With this decision potentially on the horizon, did Trump spontaneously drop a hint about who could be on his veep short-list during Thursday night’s Republican debate?

The answer is yes.

Well Trump just vetted "a well-known veteran Republican campaign strategist who thus far has been anti-Trump" and "a Trump-leaning national GOP consultant" and now knows where they are at.

Good tactic bringing this out in the open and then seeing that these *cough* "conservatives" would like him to run with Kasich so their girl Hillary can get in.

I trust Trump more than I would anyone ensconced deeply in the republican party.

The top tier eGop consultants and pundits have their marching orders

Black, Black, Woman. Gotta be seen as multi-genderist/racial and stay up high on the PC scale.

The GOP screamed twice, elect Obama he'd make a good president and he is a good person (paraphrase from McCain when he gave the election to Obama) then Romney gave Obama the nod for a second term.

Now if an eGOP'er gets the nom, he/she will usher in Clinton in and Bill will pick the interns.

If the dems want to run an Islamic radical for prez they will just have to wait.

If Kasich is on the ticket I won’t be voting for president. Total deal breaker for me.

In retrospect, I think McCain’s choice if Palin was precisely to allow the establishment to destroy her brand for the future. I have become that cynical.

I doubt he will be on the ticket. He is incredibly boring. I hope it will not be the sleazy Amnesty Rubio. That would be a deal breaker for many, would show he is not credible regarding immigration.

I think at SOME point, assuming it looks more and more like he is going to win the nomination, the GOP is going to “ask” that he pick someone as a running mate that they (GOP) can rally behind, perhaps there is some deal in the works.

Reagan/Bush. Bush was Reagan’s big mistake.

I'm sorry but this is just not an apt comparison. First GHWB was not an irresponsible or repulsive choice as VP. I don't think GHWB was a great president by any means and he did some things that were a bit sill (e.g. no new taxes), but he also did some things that were actually pretty good. I don't know of any president who could have gotten GWI as right as Bush I did. No one. We got in, got the job done and got out - maintaining the balance of power in the ME that ensured continued stability there.

Bush was a BIG MISTAKE.

I’ve been watching “NARCOS”. They have a lot to say about CIA George. Makes you wonder.

Yeah...but...Cruz has some very bad advisors who told him to pick on New Yorkers. You do not alienate a whole state because of a few whackos in Albany and Manhattan.

That was a bad move. Not to mention the millions of NY natives who now live in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Florida etc.

Cruz ticked off a lot of these folks.

You do NOT insult people whose vote you are asking for.

Only in Canada.
