Quoting Joe Namath, Jeb Bush ‘Guarantees’ Nomination

WALTERBORO, SC (AP)—At a South Carolina fund raiser today republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush reached back into history to quote one of football's great former quarterbacks, Joe Namath of the New York Jets.

When asked by a supporter if he thinks he can win the party's nomination Bush replied ‘I guarantee it’ which is the same reply given by Namath to a reporter when asked if the Jets could beat Earl Morrells’ Baltimore Colts in the 1968 season Super Bowl III.

At the time, Joe Namath was the most flamboyant quarterback in the AFL and the prediction created a media firestorm around the young quarterback and the Jets a few days before the big game.

When asked how his campaign would overcome the large polling deficit between himself and the leading candidates, Bush's body tensed into a slight hunch and with elbows pulled into his sides and fists clinched replied, ‘We're gonna go inside, we're gonna go outside, inside and outside. We're gonna get ‘em on the run and once we get ‘em on the run we're gonna keep ‘em on the run. And then we're gonna go go go go go go and we're not gonna stop til we get across that goal line!’

The twenty or so supporters in the banquet room at the Walterboro Holiday Inn erupted into cheers seeing their candidate so enthused.

‘It's reviving and refreshing to see new energy in Jeb’ said another supporter, ‘after seeing that I wrote a check for $20’ she said.

Bush's campaign continues to build and hopes to accelerate on the endorsement from former Presidential candidate and GOP powerhouse Senator Lindsey Graham.

Yah, I’m in although there are some hardcore Cruz and
Trump supporters around here that talk as if they will
stay home if the other candidate wins the nomination.
Puzzling that some people would sit by and allow Hillary to
choose SC justices.

Satire or Humor should be labeled in the title as such.

The author can’t even spell Earl Morrall’s name correctly. Do news outlets hire editors anymore?

Baltimore was head and shoulders above the Jets that year - but they were inconsistent- probably due to some shortcomings in the coaching areas.

If they would have played again the following week, the Colts would have crushed the Jets like 50 - 6

Because if a GOPe candidate wins it will be just as Hillary choosing Supreme Court Justices. Look, the GOPe doesn’t really care if they win or lose. Only that they get a percentage of the trough. They are fine with 45 percent of the take...if by chance they win, the dems are fine with 45 percent of the trough. The whole thing is, Trump will take the trough away and the piggies will be left screaming. That is what this race is about. Main Street running things, or Wall Street continuing on and on and on...

The Colts lost because (1) Earl Morrall threw three interceptions and (2) Matt Snell ran wild. Final score of 16 - 7...... I watched the game as a kid in Baltimore and I can tell you the entire city was in shock.

Sure you read my post correctly? Where did I state ANYTHING
about GOPe candidates? I was talking about the supporters of
Trump and Cruz.

Do you think that there is a Trump supporter out there who
actually thinks a list of Cruz justice nominees would look
the same as a Clinton list? Vice versa?

BTW, not even a list of Rubio nominees would look
much like Hillary’s list.

If the elite find a way to steal the election for Jeb or a wannabbee, I can't imagine what the fallout will be. FWIW, Senator Portman (the globalist elite's favorite conservative) yesterday was spewing assurances that Trump won't be the nominee as the endorsed Kasich.

Makes me wonder if Jeb and Kasich have some scheme to win their respective states and use that to finagle the process.

It's more of a spoiled little rich kid tantrum.

I wish someone would point out that he is suffering with, not affluenza, but nonimenza or something like that. Would allow YEB! to meme'd right out of the race.

The GOP will do what ever they need to in order to get that fair haired idiot Bush elected. I would not be surprised if the “fix” is already in place to carry him across the threshold when the caucus date arrives. Should that actually take place, I see all hell breaking loose as the real “leader” (who knows who that will be) starts a fire the GOP will never be able to put out. It’s going to get nasty before its over.

Definitely regarded this as satire when I saw this:

GOP powerhouse Senator Lindsey Graham.
